A friend recommended the Sheraton Grand Seattle prior to my trip. I was hesitant because of some mixed reviews I read. But at his urging based on experience and the location I decided to give it a try. I will 100% be staying again. First, I was pleasantly surprised when my room was ready hours early. Not expected but started my trip off great! When I arrived, the lobby was truly beautiful! Chihuly glass, nice furniature, sparkling clean windows. I was greeted immediately as I approached the front des. The staff was friendly and efficient with check in as well. They answered my couple of questions with ease. The two towers both have a great view. Personally I love looking out over the city so I am glad that I had “upgraded” when I booked my room to a higher floor for the view. I stayed on the 25th floor of the Union Tower. The pool is at the top of the Pike Tower and it’s worth a trip up to see the view even if you don’t want to swim. To some extent, a hotel is a hotel is a hotel…. The location of the Sheraton is truly the BEST part. It’s less than a 5 minute walk to the Westlake Center. (Westlake Center is one of the stops of the Monorail to Seattle Center and also the Link Rail to the airport). There are also multiple bus routes that stop very close to the hotel which makes it easy to get around town. It’s about a 10 minute walk, straight down Pike, to the famous Pike’s Market. There’s plenty of restaurants around the hotel to pick from. Plus with the ease of public transportation nearby you can get to any other establishment with ease. The last day of my trip I was worried as I had a red-eye flight home and didn’t want to spend all day at the airport. The hotel easily marked and stored my luggage in a secure area. I was able to go exploring and then come back to the hotel and use the restroom without any issues. This made the last day of my trip much less stressful. Honestly, love the city of Seattle as a whole and can’t wait to come back. I will absolutely be staying at the Sheraton Grand again and will be recommending it to family and friends.…
I always use Marriott as I’ve never had a bad experience. My family and I checked out early and stayed elsewhere. It was that bad. When I tried to voice the issues they just acted like I was a number and told me no points refund and told me to call the bonvoy elite customer service. I feel like I wasted my trip on this place and I’ve never felt that way at a Marriott property before. Simply put, go elsewhere. Showers backup, TV’s don’t work, no communication, no food service, things close before they are supposed to. I usually stay at the Westin and decided to try this place. I’m greatly disappointed in how little they care. Things will always come up and we as guests should understand that. It’s not if but when. It’s how the hotel handles it that matters. The beds were comfy and the housekeeping staff was super nice.…
When I stayed here for one night, I was on a high floor. While there are 5 elevators servicing the higher levels, only 2 appeared to be working when there have been a lot of convention attendees at the hotel. It meant that the elevators took a long time. The Sheraton Club, while not properly designed as a kitchen, was turned into a kitchen with extremely poor ventilation during breakfast. There is simply no escape from the smell of cooking as the egg station is right in the center of the room/club. It is suffocating. Additionally, the foods were not properly labeled with allergens information which nearly caused a disaster for me. The hospitality suite that I had is what you may expect from an aging Sheraton property but the overall experience made me think that I should have kept my reservation at the Hotel 1000 or stayed at a nearby Hyatt instead.…
The hotel is nicely renovated but customer service is incredibly lacking. I was told by the manager that I would receive a call when my room is ready. I checked in three hours later just to check on the status and was told by Donna at the front desk in a very confrontational and matter-of-fact tone that the room was in fact ready but that she needed to verify my rate. After I confirmed the rate, I was told that she was in fact mistaken and that my room still is not ready. I attempted to leave my bags at the front desk and the bell hop stand and the employee just glanced up and asked why I didn’t just check into my room since rooms are available. What a joke, borderline comedic.
We have stayed here many times in the past, this is the last time. 836944826 We just stayed at this property in January, and although the club lounge was closed for COVID, we still had a pleasant stay with good service, friendly attitudes, and things we expect from this property. This time, our experience was terrible. The property is going down the drain. First, the front desk staff at the Bonvoy Elite counter were not friendly. Did not feel welcome at all. Literally there were issues with the plumbing in our room. At the end of a long day of travelling, I was thirsty and after checking in, no water to be found in the room. Called the front desk and they said $3.00 and I have to wait for someone to bring it up. Then I hop in the shower, and I notice this brown muck in the tub. I thought "gee I couldn't be THAT dirty", so I hop out, and take a video--**I have it on youtube but Tripadvisor won't let me post it.** I'll just try to have pictures wait for it and you will see the brown muck coming out of the tub filler. I called the hotel supervisor and they didn't even seem to believe me or care. Service here is seriously mucked up. Next, yea it can get worse! The fan in the bathroom is constantly on and cannot be turned off and it's loud enough to keep you awake all night. For those of you who are Bonvoy Elite, I used to be plat elite but lack of much travel during COVID and I'm now only gold elite, but they don't care at all, definitely not better service just for reference. Travel here on business frequently and will take this property out of the lineup. Oh yeah, in case you're curious we booked at $319 USD/night. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about this property or the area!…
Took a cruise out of Seattle and booked with Sheraton Grand Seattle for 2 days prior to the cruise and for 1 day after (return cruise date), in order to relax before heading home. During my initial stay (prior to cruise), the hotel was decent (no full restaurant on site and the breakfast option was $29.00 per person buffet (omelet/fruit/cold cereal options). The room was nice and clean, but the surrounding areas were very sketchy. Lots of homeless and drug use, right on the street. I had with the staff/manager about my next stay and requested an early check in, as I would be departing the cruise around 10am. Initially I was told, this wasn't a problem and they could accommodate. During the cruise, I had text the Sheraton Grand Seattle front desk/chat option regarding the early check and was told that the only way to secure that was purchasing a room for the night before. I explained I would be not arriving until 11am that Saturday, so purchasing a room for Friday was a waste of money/points. Again, I was advised this could ensure my early check in, but if they are able to accommodate, they would reverse the charges pre-paid. When I arrived Saturday morning, I was told, they couldn't do an early check in (no one was in the lobby) and that since I had paid for a room Friday night, that was the only way I could check in early. I asked to speak with a manager, who became very rude very fast, when I explained that I had spoke with someone the prior Friday and was told this was not an issue. Secondly, when I mention doing a review with Marriott/Trip Advisor, he told me, he couldn't do anything! With frustration, I asked for my room (keep in mind $256.00 for 1 night), and he gave me a key. The room was TERRIBLE! The tub was dirty, the blinds didn't go all the way down and the phone would disconnect when I tried to call the front desk. After walking down and explaining this to the team and being told that I had been upgraded, I was told there would be no rooms available until 4PM. What a crock of crap! I will never stay with Sheraton Hotel again. There are WAY more accommodating hotels in Seattle and near the attractions/cruises that would appreciate my money!…
In past years I have been satisfied with business travel here however on my last stay here in April, I was unable to get a correct receipt on checking out. It was incorrectly issued in the name of my colleagur with whom I shared room, yet charged to my credit card. Requests on the Marriott and Sheraton websites have gone out into the void without more than autoresponse for more than a week and it was very hard to find the place tk make the request? Calling results in a dense phone tree and never a person. I will not stay here again for business purposes.
This hotel appears awesome from outside but lacks in many details except food & beverage. Prior to checking-in, Valet drives your car like his own sports car. Hotel guests car needs to be handled with care. Seeing my own car accelerating going down the garage driven by Sheraton valet wasn’t very nice to see. At check-in, I was assigned to floor 20 even though I reserved deluxe room, city view, higher floor. I asked desk agent to room move me to another floor. She said she can’t because I am already checked in. Does she expects me to believe her when I am standing in front of her not entered the room? All she needs to do is options, room move, and mark current room as vacant inspected. I know she has the ability to do so but she didn’t. Alright I went ahead and gone up to the room. In-room refrigerator had leftover food previous guest left. Called down and got a room on floor 30. Now the room on floor 30 is lot smaller than room on floor 20. She must have downgraded me to a smaller room because I asked her for a new room because there is a leftover food inside the fridge. I also didn’t see her name tag. Remember I paid for deluxe room, city view, higher floor. I am curious what temperature this hotel keeps their pool because it was very cold 60-70s when I dipped my feet. I didn’t bother swim because knowing my family will get cold afterwards. There was no jacuzzi tub. Fitness center looked nice. Dinner at the Fountain was good except cranberry salad (spring mix with cranberries). Pan pizza was great. My kids loved it. BBQ sandwich was great. French dip was on a smaller portion size but good in taste. I thanked for her service. Having Starbucks coffee pods in room like all Sheratons do as part of their brand requirement is nice amenity to have but when you have a coffee brewer making a loud train on track noise that is not so pleasing for rest of the family members to hear in the morning waking it up. Mr. Coffee needs to be replaced to possibly keurig. Breakfast on 32nd floor was perfect. Asian male attendant/cashier at the entrance greeted my family and he was superb. I saw him coming into club lounge to check on the bk items, restocking bk items. Not many people go above and beyond on their expected duties. My kids loves the view of Seattle skyline while eating their cereal. I loved seeing experienced chef in a white coat making omelette in the morning. It was very moist and excellent. Valet attendant was very nice at check-out. He greeted my family and I thanked for his service.…
We stayed 3 nights in April. As a platinum member we were upgraded to a large king studio suite, room are in front of elevator on 26 floor. Very large room with king bed, pull out sofa bed with sitting area. The bathroom was huge with 2 sinks , extra large counter and a large shower. We had complimentary buffet breakfast for 2 in the club room. The freshly made omelettes were terrific along with the wonderful free fruit. We had access to The club rooms Soda, juice and snacks. Very friendly staff and great location, 10 minute walk to pike market and central to downtown
There were six of us staying here in three rooms ranging from 35-75. It was the perfect location and the hotel was lovely. The rooms were spacious, clean, and had excellent views of the city. We loved grabbing Starbucks in the morning before heading out (though that line could get REALLY long so plan early) and sipping it while looking at the Dale Chihuly glass sculptures in the lobby. The artwork throughout the hotel was really cool. At night when you return from a day of being out and about, it was nice to head to the hotel bar for a drink and listen to local artists sing live music. It's a quick Uber (or even a nice walk) to places like Pike's Place Market, art musuems, shopping and more.
