We recently stayed here for a couple of nights. We chose this hotel due to the proximity to a tour company we had booked with. The front desk staff were very friendly. They gave us a great upgraded room as we were staying on a first responder discounted rate, as well as great recommendations for things that were open close by. The location was great. Super close to a supermarket, bars, restaurants, and the Space Needle. The room was a bit old and outdated, but it's a older hotel. It appears to be an apartment building that was converted into a hotel. We had plenty of room though, which was nice. We were also up on the third floor so it was quiet and away from the street traffic a bit. Our biggest complaint was an experience we had with the valet. At certain times, he would seem to disappear for quite a while, which is slightly inconvenient if you want to get your car to make it somewhere on time. At one point, we waited for about 15 minutes. Finally the front desk agent said she would go get our car because we were trying to make it to a dinner reservation. She covered for the valet saying he was doing something else. It turned out that something else he was doing was smoking pot. He had the keys to our car so the front desk agent couldn't get it. When he finally pulled around in our car, he got out and wreaked of pot. And our car smelled of it as well since he had driven it-likely right after smoking. We didn't super appreciate that to say the least.

Dear Morgan M, Thank you for taking the time to share your thorough feedback regarding your stay with us. I'm certainly shocked to hear about your experience with our bellman/valet team member. That is not acceptable and I will investigate that immediately. I apologize for not seeing your review sooner. I am happy to hear that our front desk team members were friendly during your stay. We are a historic landmark that did serve as apartments at one point. I hope if you are in Seattle in the future you will give us another opportunity to welcome you to the city. Thank you, Patty Davis, General Manager

I booked a room here for three nights as a tourist. I love the vintage feel of the building's decor, as well as the convenient location that's close enough to majority of the tourist attractions in the area. I wasn't quite fond of the room's refrigerator (it was pretty old and loud) and the creaky floors. It was hard to walk late at night to go to the bathroom (even on my tiptoes), without the fear waking up your roommates. Other than that, the room and the facility itself was kept reasonably clean and the staff was accomodating and polite enough to answer our questions and help with luggage when needed. Now here's the best part: I'd like to commend their supervisor for being so gracious and non-hostile when I found about a price discrepancy on my credit card, days after I had already checked out. It turns out it was my own mistake, the issue was quickly resolved, but she handled my "complaint" with tact and utter professionalism all the way, while blaming nobody for this predicament. This is what I'll remember the most about my stay at Marqueen!

Room Tip: No elevator, choose the lowest floor (as it may be less creaky)

We booked here because we heard it had a "junior suite" that was good for kids. We did fine, but there was no separation from the rooms, so it was really just a big hotel room and the two queen beds probably would have been better. Old bed and the hide-a-bed was not good. It was set up for two people and not three -- something my granddaughter pointed out -- two spoons, and two of everything else in the kitchenette. When we arrived late, I asked for sheets to make up the hide-a-bed, which was not prepared -- they sent up single bed sheets after a while. We were too tired to ask again. I got a decent deal (it was February, after all) so I did not mind spending the $30 a day to park (a fraction of the first day, all the second, a fraction of the third all charged in full) -- there was ample street parking. The floor is super creaky in this old place, so expect to wake up your partners. My complaints aside, my 10-year-old thought it was "fancy" and loved sashaying down the staircase. The staff were uniformly pleasant and would have been old friends had we stayed a fifth night. The location was great for the Seattle Center -- we even walked to Pikes Place. There are many nice restaurants nearby. We used our kitchen for breakfast, since several good stores are nearby, too. There were detriments but we got used to them and had a great time.

Dear Splanknon, I appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay with us. I'm happy to hear your granddaughter had a great time and thought we were "fancy". Thank you for the positive comments regarding our team members. I apologize we missed the opportunity to provide great guest service when it came to making up your sofa bed. We are a historic landmark and the building was built in 1918, so we definitely have a few creaks here and there. Thank you, Patty Davis, General Manager

We stayed here for 3 days at the end of January. The front desk and door staff were very pleasant and very helpful. No elevator, which is a minor inconvenience if you’re on the very top floor. Room was gigantic and spacious. Bed was comfortable, having the fridge was great. Only real issue was the condition of the bathroom. There were some tiles coming loose in the shower, and the connection of the faucet to the shower had a pretty good leak. All in all we really enjoyed the hotel. Area wasn’t too bad, good food nearby.

Spent two nights here in September with 2 adults, 2 kids in 2 queen suite. Booked via Agoda for $US350 for 2 nights. Check in was VERY slow at 10.15pm and thankfully no one in front of us and with 2 kids and late night, just wanted to go to bed. Service staff friendly. Room - great size with a sitting room, seperate kitchen area and a bathroom. Beds comfortable. However, the bathroom was rather dirty (just from being old) and small. The worst part though was the noise ALL night from the air conditioner or the boiler room attached.. every 20 mins or so a loud bang and things turning on and off. Was really hard to sleep and made me glad to leave. I really wanted to like this place with its character but felt disappointed and tired. Felt a bit like in American Horror Story building but that was sort of cool! Location good, bellman excellent. Loved Seattle though, space needle, Chuhuly glass gallary, Modern pop museum all excellent. Love to return one day but at a different hotel so i can sleep.
