Loved the location. The hotel is within a few minutes walk of all the major downtown attractions like Pike's Market, Old Stove Brewery, the Aquarium, etc. Our room was recently renovated, spotlessly clean and attractively decorated. Our camperized van was too high for the parking, but no problem as one of the staff drove it to one of their other properties and delivered us there to collect it the next morning. Helpful, friendly staff. Great start to our holiday.
“Location, location, location” is always the Mantra of real estate marketing and this applies in spades to this hotel. Technically speaking the Inn at the Market should be renamed “Inn in the Market “- as it is an integral part of the multi-building complex. Look at the official map of the market and you can see how this is so. There were 2 Asian restaurants in this block - the Japanese Sushi Kashiba and Korean Chan Seattle - as well as Cafe Champagne at the corner of Post and Pine. I need not emphasize just how easy it was to walk down to the main arcades of the market facing the waterfront from the hotel. We booked via TA but final booking ended up being through the hotel’s own reservation page anyway. There were no issues at all with the booking process. Our flight from Chicago arrived in the evening and so we had a late check in and there was only one other couple ahead of us. Friendly staff at reception at check in and throughout our stay. We had been placed in a 4th floor room which had large window seat looking right out onto 1st Avenue. We had a large bathroom with an actual bath tub, an increasingly infrequently feature in hotels. We had a relatively large room with a comfy bed. Unfortunately road traffic was easily heard but proved only mildly distracting. Overall we slept very well at IATM. The standout features was the 5th floor roof top deck looking out onto the neon red Public Market sign and onto the harbor. It featured several fire pits and lots of cozy couches and tables at which to eat and drink offerings from the bar as well as any goodies you might have purchased at Pike Place Market. Hanging out here more than made up for lack of a view from our room. If a having a room with a view of Elliot Bay and Puget Sound is critical to your stay then be sure to mention on booking of even call reservations yourself to ensure you get to room of your dreams. We enjoyed watching the Ferris wheel turn, the ferries sail to and fro from the harbor terminal and the lights of the market and city come on as the sun set. We not only walked down to the market but also north to the Space Needle and south to Pioneer Square. We passed through the market out on to the historic Waterfront Park. While we had breakfast both at the market and elsewhere we made sure to start our day at with free freshly-brewed Starbucks coffee in lobby. We also ate a wonderful dinner at Sushi Kashiba. We truly enjoyed staying here and highly recommend Inn at the Market to anyone visiting Seattle.…
We stayed at Inn at the Market March 17, 2020 on our way home from Olympic National Park, just as everything in Seattle was shutting down. The staff very kindly upgraded us to beautiful rooms with a private patio, which made waiting for our flight the next day a lot nicer. The hotel is very attractive and it would be the perfect location to walk to Seattle attractions. The staff was helpful and friendly despite the circumstances.
What a wonderful location to enjoy our anniversary. The location (right downtown, close to everything) was great as we walked to dinner in the city and breakfast in the market. The staff was super personable and friendly. And the view, as you can see, was fantastic! This was our first visit, so not sure if the other rooms are as comfortable and view-tastic as our room was. If you can, I recommend getting a water view room. We used this view as our TV...just enjoying the people, bird, and ferry watching. We hope to visit again in a different season to see the changes in the view. Local or a visitor, this is a great place to get away.
Excellent room. Top quality furnishings and fixtures. First rate staff on every shift that we encountered. Recently renovated (both rooms and staff). Compelling, iconic view of the harbor and the Sound. Perfect location for our purposes. Had fallen on hard times; we had stopped visiting for several years. This week we gave it another chance; we will be back.
