The popular Westmark Inn Skagway captures the spirit of the Klondike Trail with its Victorian decor, rustic setting and warm Alaskan hospitality. The Inn's 151 guest rooms accommodate travelers in turn-of-the-century style, while guests looking for a special dining experience will enjoy the Chilkoot Dining Room where you can find friendly service and fine food. The mere mention of Skagway brings to mind those rough and ready days of Jack London and miners scrambling over the Chilkoot Trail in search of golden dreams and elusive riches. Skagway and the Westmark Inn today continue to reflect the charm and personality of those days gone by.

As most people coming over the White Pass from Whitehorse we needed a hotel for one night before boarding the ferry. The hotel is well accessible by car but you have to park in an external lot. No elevator for the upper floor. Be aware of groups checking in before you. But it went well for one night.

Firstly wi Fi only available in the lobby which was a pain, restaurant staff need customer service training, front desk staff were more than helpful perhaps they could train the others. The hotel nice and central for everything and Skagway itself an interesting place to stay

The Westmark is a good hot, not a great hotel. But great hotels are not easily found in Skagway! The hotel provides good rooms, a good dining area, including very good breakfast. Make sure you get a room in the restored sectipn of the hotel - this probably adds a difference to the experience. Also, Wifi connection is spotty in the rooms - ours that was quite close to the receptionarea had connectivity, most others don’t. Location is excellent - right in the middle of where you want to be within easy walking distance to everywhere in Skagway.

The posting for this hotel is very misleading. It stated free WiFi but did not specify that this was only in the reception area. The front reception woman (Holly) was very cranky and had no patience. I had a question and no one else was at the desk so I waited for her to look up. She did not but directed me to the other end of the desk where no one was. Apparently, she only could handle tours. No one else was even waiting. If you don't like your job in hospitality, quit! The room was okay but overpriced for what you get. A waste!

We booked this hotel for two days to facilitate our White Pass & Yukon Rail trip to Carcross and back. The hotel is located in downtown Skagway, very close to the rail station and tour pick up point. It is a small two storey boutique hotel, with a very clean exterior. The lobby is welcoming and well laid out. The staff were pleasant and professional. Our room had several deficiencies that should not exist in a hotel of this calibre and price. We discovered that the toilet seat was broken upon entering. The bathroom door creaked like a 200 year old castle. There was no air conditioning, only a fan to move the air in the room. There was no Internet signal in the rooms, only the lobby. We did not spend a lot of time in our room, but expected better. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Returning after our rail trip, we found our room had not been cleaned or made up. A call to the front desk resulted in a rapid response, but this reactive behaviour should not have been necessary. The hotel breakfast, that was not included with our room, was not worth the price. On check out, the front desk manager was very apologetic, and reduced our bill. He was well aware of the issues before I brought them up. This hotel has location advantages that are hard to beat, but they need to up their game. They were not on top of it during our stay.
