Because the entrance wasn't great, the lobby and hallways old fashioned, we expected our room to be one of those old french types with carpet on the wall - but no, thankfully it was newly decorated and, although small was very comfortable and clean. The bed was comfy too. The bathroom, again was newly decorated, a bit too small really... More

A super historic building with a beautiful carved wooden staircase makes it worth the stay by itself. The location is perfect for north Brittany, with the beaches of Carentec, the GR34 coastal path, Île de Batz, Château du Taureau and other scenic places within easy driving distance. Morlaix itself has a lot to see and the famous viaduct walk is... More

Centrally located in Morlaix, in an interesting historical building. We were a group of 18 cyclists staying for one night. Storage space for our bikes was helpfully made available. Rooms were clean and water hot. No drinks-making facilities in rooms (at least, not in mine) but there was a TV. I had a very small room with double bed but... More

A quirky, characterful old hotel with an interesting history. Friendly reception staff. Slightly clunky lift which got stuck for a few seconds but then started up again. Gorgeous staircase, and the breakfast room is beautiful (though has seen better days, like a lot of the hotel). This is the sort of building you can imagine might be haunted. It's quite... More

I was recently hospitalised in Morlaix and my wife had to find a hotel she doesn't speak French but the help and service we both got from Flo and Fanny at the Hotel l'Europe was second to none. The hotel is incredible the beauty of it is amazing and the rooms are magnificent. We had the superior room and it... More

Just back from 5 nights at this hotel and was very pleased with every aspect of it. The staff were so helpful, especially Florence whose English is amazing. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The building is old and the special features have been retained. Loved the Art Deco revolving door what a shame it wasn't in use. Our... More

Since 1756, they say that many refurbishments have been made. This results in a peculiar jumble of furniture and fittings. In particular the reception area is blessed with dark oak carved panelling, bizarre lighting and newly covered easy chairs in unmatched and wince making patterned material. People have tried over the years but the overall effect is rural and fragmented.... More

Thank you for the coment. We want to keep the authentic athmosphere but with a touch of modernity. Just to inform you, the restaurant, next door, is not our restaurant, our customers just have breakfast in our hotel. A delightful end to sx weeks in France...this village is enchanting. The buildings were authentic; the Church of St. Melanie was 16th cenrury simplicity at its greatest. The aquaduct was beautiful at all times of the day. This is an artist's paradise.
