Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travelers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
When I was looking for a place to stay, I was coming off of a cruise ship so I wanted something close to the cruise terminal and railroad (since I was headed to Anchorage a few days later). The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The initial appearance reminded me of the Bates Motel and the patterns in the room didn’t all match (first world problems, I know). However, the location was important, I was able to get a decent night sleep and the water pressure in the shower was amazing. There was also a microwave and fridge in the room. The floors and comforter were a little dirty, along with the fridge and microwave but I didn’t use those appliances. Overall, I was happy with my stay.

We stayed over the July 4th weekend and overall it was a good stay. The motel is a bit dated and the fixtures kind of shows. But the room was very spacious and the beds are clean and comfortable. If they can refurbish the hotel it can be even better. Major marine cruise terminal was right across the road, so it was convenient not to drive.

We stayed in the Queen Suite. The room is a bit dated -but was large and the Jacuzzi tub worked-so those were pluses. Also, kudos to the people who launder the linens. They smelled fantastic. We stayed for 3 nights and overall it was a great stay.

This was the only listing available in Seward when we booked, and we were grateful to have a place. The website does say they don't do late check-ins, but they were very accommodating, which we appreciated. The room had blackout curtains but no sheer curtains so if you wanted decent light in the room, everyone could see in. The lighting was terrible. The carpets were FILTHY. The floorboard heater had fallen off the wall. The toilet was leaking, running, and...SCREAMING! It was so loud and constant that we resorted to turning off the water supply. When my husband went to shower, the sound of the water seemed as though it was going to come through the wall.
To top it off, the email I received from Hotels.com offering a pre-purchase for breakfast didn't mention that the breakfast is off-site.

The worst place we have stayed while in Alaska! Very few outlets, No AC. The room was around 90 deg all night. People knocking on the door at 1am. No towels, no shampoo or body wash. Had to fix the screen so we could have the window open. Tv only one channel and every time I tried to hook up to their WiFi it said I had to move closer and would not connect... all in all it is not worth the trouble. And this was the second room they gave us. The first room was right next to the laundry room (big dryers) even hotter?

Great motel in Seward. Very close to the main town which is right across the road. The Marina Motel's location is close to a beautiful view of the waterfront and is located between mountains. Also a great place to stay if you are looking to visit Kenai Fjords National Park!

I booked here and was charged for the room. According to the cancellation policy on the booking site, the booking could be canceled for free. Then- when I did end up having to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, I was charged a fee. This is not okay to do this to people.

They provided us with some nice clean rooms. They were helpful people! It was easily located near the marina wich made it nice for our fishing charter. The parking lot was kept clean also. They had coffee available to us even if was very early in the morning.

The Marina Motel is a great place to stay in Seward. It’s a very close walk into town, and has a great view of the mountains when the sky is clear. Coffee and free ice are provided in the main lobby area. The beds are comfortable, and we had a great stay.

We stayed 4 nights with a group of 10 people. This motel is on the road exactly, no garden, no shower gel, no hair dryer. It has some old, dark, frayed bedspreads that are disgusting to touch. It has two dirty chairs with large stains accumulated over years without cleaning or changing the upholstery. We have warned our travel agency never to book this filthy motel again...
