The idea of a trip to Alaska usually begins with some dominant idea that piques the curiosity. Adventure! Nature! Wildlife! For some, these ideas coalesce into more tangible activities- halibut fishing, bear viewing, sea kayaking, hiking. Alaska is a big state, so big that people down here in the Lower 48 forget sometimes and think of it as a different... More

My sister and I spent 2 days at Joe's cabin during our first trip to Alaska. The cabin was comfortable and cozy, decorated with amazing photographs of wildlife and nature. The deck was ideal for enjoying beverages and the sounds of the wooded area surrounding us. Within the cabin, amenities included wi-fi, a mini fridge, a microwave, a coffee maker,... More

I just returned from a ten day trip all across Alaska with a group of friends and we all agreed that our day with Joe was unequivocally the highlight of our vacation. Joe's entire mantra is that he wants his guests to experience the Alaska that he has enjoyed living in and playing in for years. Within 20 minutes of... More

Captain Joe took us to Ailik Glacier and Pederson Glacier on a 15 hour water taxi and kayak trip that was the highlight of our Alaska trip. Joe provides a personal experience that is fantastic. We felt cared for and safe, and saw many whales and wildlife thanks to his sharp eyes and generosity. The beauty of Aialik and Pederson... More

If you are not sure where to stay in Seward- stop looking and book with Joe. His cabin is rustic and beautiful. It is close to downtown, but tucked away in the woods behind his house. It was just what we were looking for as we wanted to be close to downtown but also wanted to be able to relax... More

Just back from an all day Ailaik/Pederson Glacier adventure with Joe Allen of Allen’s Alaska Adventures, (he’s BoatAK on the forums here) so we felt so blessed by beautiful warm weather and blue skies! Just gorgeous! Joe picked us up at 9:30 am and brought us home at 10:30 at night! He spent tons of time making sure we saw... More

Crusing with Joe is the real deal, he expertly navigated us out to a remote glacier to kayak, all the while cracking jokes and making sure everone was warm and comfortable on the cold stormy morning we departed. Joe was happy to tell us all about the area and went out of his way to find us some whales who... More

My husband and I had an outstanding time on Joe's boat. I am 100% happy that we took this option instead of booking through a tour agency. Contacting and working with Joe as we led up to our trip was seamless. The boat is fantastic and the experience is beyond words. Joe does everything possible to make sure you have... More

A nice relaxed small group boat trip, is better than the other commercialized trips with tons of people. Joe is safe, runs the boat speed to match conditions, takes all the time you want to watch whales and other wildlife and Dakota is a good kayak guide. We stayed 2 nights in the cabin and it was perfectly clean and... More

Joe Allen knows Alaska. Better yet he's a great guy has all the stories and provides the best experiences. We went kayaking, diving, ut was all laughs and fun! Dakota, his deckhand/kayak guide is personable and funny. He knows people and is just a great guy. I recommend Joe for anything you want from diving to kayaking to sightseeing.
