Preserved Victorian with large rooms - ours had a private garden. John is a great host - had an itinerary planned for us when we got there. Short walk to the park and lake front. Light breakfast served. Rooms have been lovingly restored and we loved the artwork

We stayed 2 nights during July 2014. The accommodation is very well maintained, well furnished and in a great, quiet location, which for us is better than a motel/hotel in Seward. Wi- fi is hit and miss though, so bear in mind, if you really need it

Mary and Doug were both very welcoming and friendly. They were very flexible in accommodating our needs. Very spacious and well maintained. About a 20 min walk into town. A great bonus when Doug alerted us to the moose at the side of the property- great photo opportunity

This place was really great and the owner, Doug, could not have been nicer or more welcoming. We stayed on the top floor for four days and had the best time. The accommodations are spacious, clean, well-furnished, and the kitchen had all the basics, so we were able to cook there a couple of nights and enjoy dinner on the... More

We have stayed at Bay Vista B&B many times over the years, it has always been immaculate, completely furnished, beautifully decorated, and the owner, Doug Lechner, is thoughtful and kind. You will not find a better place to stay in Seward.

The Alaskan Suite is beautiful and spacious. In the kitchen there are beautiful dishes, wine glasses, silverware, table coverings and place mats. The only thing missing was the sink. We found it difficult to not have water in the kitchen area so you could wipe up some crumbs, or clean up a little if you had a little snack in... More

My family of four rented the bottom half of the house. We wish we could have had the top but we were very happy in the bottom. Even prepared a simple dinner one night that we purchased at Safeway down the hill. Very roomy and relaxing. This place was also very very clean. The only problem (and a very small... More

We stayed in the Resurrection Bay Suite. After spending much time reviewing Seward's lodging alternatives on the web, I gave consideration to the Bay Vista B&B. The lodging was attractively described and had the features we wanted. I contacted owner Doug Lechner via email to discuss availability for a 2 night stay in September following a 7 night Princess Cruise... More

My family stayed for 3 nights in June at Bay Vista B & B in Seward during our Alaska vacation. We stayed in the Alaskan Suite located on the lower level. It was very large and comfortable at 1100 sq ft. There were two bedrooms, with the living room in between, which is a great set up for anyone traveling... More

We stayed at Bay Vista for 2 nights after being delayed an extra day in Anchorage. The property is located at the end of the road not far from the boat harbor and we had the entire downstairs of the house. There are two bedrooms each with 2 beds and a huge living/dining room. There is a small refrigerator (no... More
