My friends and I really enjoyed our stay at Sourdough Sunrise B&B. As advertised in the guest book, the pancakes were amazing!

Sourdough Sunrise B&B is also very conveniently located being a short 5 minute drive from Seward. At the same time, being located in a wooded location, you feel like you are in a real cabin in the woods staying at Sourdough Sunrise B&B.

I highly recommend staying here if you visit Seward.

The second we arrived, I already couldn't wait to come back. It's the perfect location, the room was immaculate, you're immediately greeted by their two beautiful dogs that serve as bear and moose alarms (we feel in love with their dogs, the dogs do not go inside the B&B). Breakfast was incredible. They even let us take leftovers with us. Richard and Sue are so kind and lovely.

We are already planning our next stay there.

Loved this built with love B&B. Richard and Susan have a gem of a property just a 5 min drive out of the heart of Seward. From check in to check out it was a great experience. The house is amazing. Caution in Room 3 the ceilings will come and get your forehead if your not careful. (Finally got used to it). Very clean, nicely furnished, and a common area with a fridge, coffee and tea/cocoa area, and a little deck. In slept very soundly both nights. In the morning Richard or Susan open the kitchen and you feast on sourdough pancakes bacon and fresh fruits. Sooooo good!

Not too far off the main road and only a 5 minute drive from Seward, this lovely B&B is nestled among the trees so you feel like you are in the woods. Building was loving constructed by one of the owners, who is a master woodworker. Rooms and bathroom are good sized and very clean. Breakfast was delicious and bacon was crispy, just the way I like it. They stick to their specialty, sourdough pancakes, so don’t come here expecting variety for breakfast. It didn’t bother us because everything was tasty and something we couldn’t duplicate at home. Richard, the owner, is a long time resident of Alaska, and has lots of stories and knowledge which he readily shares. My family (husband, son & future daughter-in-law) thoroughly enjoyed our stay. They also have 2 vert sweet and friendly dogs.

This was a beautiful B&B in a quiet forested area. One couldn't help but admire Richard's craftsmanship in building what was formerly his family's home. We had a spacious and comfortable room with access to a shared common area with a balcony. Everything was very clean! Richard and Sue had a delicious breakfast for us with pancakes made from a special sourdough that had been handed down from generations! Great hosts with great accommodations!

Richard and Sue make you feel like family along with their two friendly dogs. The sourdough pancakes have come from a starter that's been passed down through the years and are something to eagerly look forward to in the morning. The B&B lives upto its name with a cozy bed, a full breakfast done right and warm generous host. Richard has many wonderful stories to share about his experiences in Alaska over the past 40+ years. The house was so unique and charming with all the intricate wood work that embodied the spirit of the area and was crafted by the host, Richard. We would recommend everyone to stay at this place, do not miss out.

Great location nestled in the trees. Easy to find and check yourself in. As others said, the breakfast is a highlight. Room was comfy, we had to leave a window open though because the heat was oppressive inside even though it’s in the 40s outside.

The place is amazing, the wood working craftsmanship that Richard has done is worth the visit, just to see it. And the sourdough breakfast with the 100-year-old starter is a history lesson alone.

Richard has a lifetime of Alaska knowledge to share.

Comfortable, clean, quiet, excellent breakfast and great hosts.

I'll book it upon return to Seward.

Incredible accommodation with creative woodworking. Clean, quiet, friendly, close to town, easy to find. But, as great as this is, the Sourdough pancake breakfasts are simply to die for, with its genesis back to the gold rush days.

We stayed here during the pandemic. The place has 3 rooms upstairs in a cozy lodge. We were the only ones in the place, so it was great for us. It could be a bit "busy" if the other rooms were occupied, but we enjoyed our stay. It has a nice deck on the front side and it was great to sit out there in the am and have coffee. The breakfast was great with the sourdough pancakes. Richard (owner) was very informative about the wildlife and the area in general. We would stay here again!
