Visited for 5 nights in October when we were told it would be wet, cold and cloudy. Instead, we got blue skies and crisp beautiful days. And the icing on the cake was this place. We stayed in the Cloud 9 cabin which I understand was recently renovated and is now a great place to spend time. The bed is so comfortable, the rocker chairs look out over some of the finest scenery you are ever likely to witness. And the coffee tastes that bit better when you wake up to all that every morning. We had a lot of contact with the owners before and throughout, whilst at the same time never having our privacy encroached. They were everything you hope for when renting a cabin. I almost didn't write a review as I don't want to give away one of the best finds we've had in years of travelling, but you really must try this place. All 3 waterfront cabins looked great and are within 5 mins drive of Seward, or a 45 minute flat, scenic walk if your going into town for a few beers. Finally, we also had our first ever sight of the Northern Lights one night here, and for that reason alone it will always be special to us.…
I wish we could have stayed longer. It takes a bit to find it but we really liked its rustic charm. It is not a cookie cutter room without charm. They have thought of everything! Fishing poles and rubber boots, instructions for everything in the room, discounts to local attractions and DVD. Shower has great heat and pressure. The bed was comfy and we could block the sunlight out (it’s Alaska after all). I would 100% recommend friends and family to stay here.
Stayed here for 3 nights this summer, and would have been happy to stay longer. Cabin was everything we needed, and the view across Resurrection Bay was breathtaking. Cabin was small, but we didn’t worry about spending much time here…just got up in the morning and strolled down to “Barrio Coffee and Kitchen” for a warm welcome, coffee and breakfast!
Angel’s Rest was perfect for the three of us. There were two sleeping areas with a small dining space and refrigerator/ microwave, coffee maker and utensils, plates etc. The “community”kitchen and gas grill were great and we used both without difficulty. The view was wonderful overlooking Resurrection Bay and the grounds were filled with beautiful flowers. The beds were very comfortable. Check-in was without a hitch. Highly recommend Angel’s Rest for more than 2 nights as there is much to explore in the Seward area!
Angels Rest is made up of several rustic yet comfortable cabins on Resurrection Bay Seward AK. Three of the cabins are actually water front. We stayed in Cloud 9. It is on the water and provides breath taking views of the bay. The cabin is small but very comfortable for a short trip or longer trip as well. We were there for a week and we were very comfortable. Lowell Point has an interesting history and there are trail head short hikes very near by. The cabins are located less than 2 miles from Seward with nice restaurants and shops. The Gabor is nearby as well providing fishing and whale watching tours most every day.
We stayed in the Gatehouse House cabin for three nights from July 9th to the 12th and had a wonderful stay. The cabin was immaculate and very well equipped. Anything at all you could possible think of is provided for you, including binoculars. The best features of the cabin were all the windows that showed off the magnificent view of Resurrection Bay. It was so beautiful, and it was fun to see the tide come in and out and how it changed the size of the beach. We enjoyed our walks and brought home some shells as souvenirs which are now on display in our Wisconsin home as a pleasant reminder of our perfect stay. We enjoyed seeing hummingbirds by the flowers on our porch. We took the Kenai Fjords Tour and it was fun to see our cabin from the boat as it made its way down the bay in front of Angels Rest. The area is quiet and peaceful, so there are no annoying distractions from the beauty that surrounds you. A welcome letter, along with a nice surprise I will not share in this review (or it will not be a surprise to you), awaits when you arrive. We highly recommend Angels Rest. It is definitely worth driving the bumpy Lowell Point Road to get to it, which is saying a lot!!…
Our Stay was from July 10th through July 13th, 2022 - in the WING Cabin. The middle cabin right on the water. I'll try to keep this to bullet points What was GREAT! 1. Incredible views 2. Communication and Info pre arrival including various activities 3. Clearly a property that is well cared for, everything is meticulous. 4. CLEAN!!! 5. Quiet 6. Remote Not so great 1. Roads leading to this place are horrible, huge potholes and this was in July. I can't even imagine what this would be like in the winter. You literally have to dodge the potholes. 2. Remote, Very far away from town, unpaved road so it takes an extra 15 minutes to get anywhere. 3. Wifi didn't work. Called it in and was told it would be looked into, never heard anything back but it never got fixed but we could live without it. I didn't bring it up again figuring they did what they could but no follow up to see if it was working or not. 4. This is for the WING Cabin, bathroom is TINY. I mean really TINY. This was communicated as being a TINY bathroom but it really is TINY. 5. It's July, only dark for 4-5 hours per night. Room does not get dark, told be bring eye masks and bring those if you can't sleep in daylight. Aluminum mini blinds don't get the room dark. 6. Many rules posted all over the cabin, just be advised. I didn't love the signs but I'm sure some folks would be ok with it. Summary, you get to the edge of town, and turn onto an unpaved or poorly paved road for about 2 miles. You drive through an RV / Campground. You drive by campground showers / toilets and all of this is on a horrible pothole ridden road. You get to more and more RV parking areas. The three waterfront cabins are on the other side of a concrete wall from RV Parking. It's surprisingly quiet and once you get to your cabin, you don't realize you next to campgrounds / RV Parking. If you want to lay in bed and see stunning views, this place has that! Just have what you need since the drive to town is bumpy and takes some time.…
We stayed at Angels Rest in June (2022) and had lovely weather! We stayed in the heron's loft and it was perfect. Very clean and quiet! The hosts were great and super communicative before and during our stay. We loved being by the resurrection bay and looking out on the mountains. The location is quiet and further away from town (about a 6 min drive) We enjoyed being away from the tourists in town and there was a great cafe, Barrio right by Millers Landing. I would definitely stay here again!
We stayed for a week in Wing Cabin and loved the location and stunning, panoramic views right on our doorstep. The cabin was very comfortable and well equipped and we certainly welcomed having a propane BBQ on our veranda so we could cook in the evening rather than eat out - why waste the views and opportunity to watch the sea otters who swam past us each evening. There was lots of useful information available in the cabin regarding hiking trails and trips, most of which we did during our stay. Lowell Point was an eclectic mix of accommodation with a laid-back, uncommercialized appeal which we thoroughly enjoyed. Highly recommended.
Staying in the cloud 9 cabin at Angels Rest was an absolutely dreamy experience! I have nothing bad to stay about it. We were welcomed with little gifts (even a cute souvenir mug to take home), fresh flowers in a vase, and a cozy clean cabin all ready for us. It truly felt so homey and welcoming! The bed was positioned in the perfect spot to look out the window at the mountains as you lay in it. It was the perfect cabin to relax in after a day in town or out on a boat. There is a door that leads directly to the back porch. My favorite part of the whole trip was sitting on the porch in the morning with a cup of coffee, and watching the whales and otters swimming right in front of us. Another part of the cabin I really enjoyed was that it is right by the water! I loved waking up early to go on a walk and look at the rocks and jellyfish and seaweed along the shore. I loved seeing the little overlooked treasures along the bay! They also had rubber boots, bear spray and fishing poles available to borrow while you stay! Also they had a binder full of recommendations and tips for travelers to the area. Staying in the cloud 9 cabin at Angels Rest was the ultimate Alaskan experience, and I am so grateful we chose this place. I would give it 10 stars if I could, and I 100% recommend you stay here!…
