I chose them because of the price but after staying there I would pick them again at twice the price. I was there with my 16 year old nephew for a couple of days at the end of August and I don't think I've met more gracious and helpful hosts anywhere. They gave me lots of suggestions for places to...

My fiancee and I stayed a couple nights and LOVED it so much we came back again a week later. We had a lot of logistics to set up for our travels in the area since we like to hike and kayak as well as sight see, and the owner was exceptionally knowledgeable & helpful and always went out of...

Stepping over the threshhold, exhausted, I instantly felt at home. Except better, because it was cleaner than my actual home. It's a historic house, but not all dolled up, it's just nice. An easy walk to the waterfront. The owner had it open specially for an October conference, I felt like I was treated like a favorite niece. Except better....

Our stay at the Ballaine House B&B in Seward was a treat after our overnight flight to Anchorage and drive to Seward during the wee hours. The owner and managers had invited us to stop in to rest as early as we wanted, even if our room was not ready but it was! We love old homes and historic places,...

Man what can I say. First off the rooms were comfortable and clean. I had the best sleep in weeks here. It was super quiet. I had such a great dream I woke up laughing. Second, Its easy to find as it is on the main road yet you feel removed from any hint of traffic and hubub with the...

We just had the most wonderful stay at Ballaine House B&B in Seward, AK. We were embraced by the warm hospitality of our hosts. The food was delicious with lots of choices for all the interesting multinational guests. The house was spotless & comfortable & invitingly appointed in keeping with its historical heritage. We learned so much about the area...

I had a wonderful stay. The home is very comfortable- extremely clean and well kept. Bree was willing to do anything to ensure every guest had a great experience- whether it be offering to do laundry, providing a shuttle run, etc. Last and certainly not least- the breakfasts were outstanding!

Home away from home. This is what I would run if I were to run a B&B. You remove your shoes as you walk in the door (so sensible to not drag outside stuff in your rooms) and you walk into the living room which has couple of couches, TV and a laptop. We chilled in the living room couple...

I loved this place! The house is really nice and clean, and it has character too. It's in a real good location, by a free Seward bus stop, but really close enough to walk to downtown and the harbor. Mt. Marathon is right out back. Bree was a great hostess, super nice, helpful, and a great cook! I would recommend...

The B&B experience depends a lot on the people running the place - sometimes it's brilliant, and others it's like staying with the weird relatives you try to avoid at holiday gatherings. Ballaine House was in the former category. I stayed 3 nights and from the moment I emailed Marlee (the owner) to check availability she was so kind and...
