Nestled in the heart of the Kenai Mountains, Renfro's Lakeside Retreat is located on emerald green Kenai Lake. Renfro's offers 8 cabins, five of which are located on the lake and the other three are located within 100 yards of the lake in the spruce trees. In addition to the cabins, we offer 10 R.V. Sites with both full and partial hook-ups. Renfro's offers spectacular views of huge snow capped mountains and a 30-mile long lake. This pristine retreat has the feel of true wilderness and yet is located 20 miles from Seward. This means you are situated within driving distance of the things people want to see or experience while in Alaska.

We had a wonderful stay at Renfro’s! If we are ever lucky enough to make it back that way, I wouldn’t stay anywhere else. Gary was just as other reviewers described - very welcoming & helpful! We stayed in a lakeside cabin. It clean, cozy, had plenty of space for 2 people and

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of The Retreat! Since it is the off season I usually do not get reviews this time of year so I was pleasantly surprised. I appreciate your complements! Your description of the cabin is awesome right down to the pots and pans! Those amenities make it easy for our guests to enjoy their stay whether that be for cooking, having an outdoor fire, being able to wash your clothes, or enjoying a float on the Kenai Lake in the kayaks. Nothing beats the views and peacefulness of the surrounding area. I hope to see you in the future and make sure you book a longer stay! Thanks again - have a great day!

Met friends for a weekend where we could bring our dogs. What a blast! Right on the Kenai Lake with beautiful views. The spiral staircase is not for everyone and getting our 70# pointer upstairs and again down, was hilarious! We drove into Seward for the Sealife park and hiked

Yes, the spiral staircase is not for everyone and now I guess I need to add furry family members also. I am glad they managed. It sounds like you enjoyed your Alaskan Adventure on your get away weekend filled with cards and friends! Thank you for staying with us!

Loves this place. We were in Alaska for 2 weeks and this was by far our favorite place we stayed! So beautiful and peaceful! What a treasure! The views were amazing from the cabin. We cooked dinner on the grill and ate out by the fire!

That is a lot of love! Thank you! Please stay more than a few nights next time as I get that so often - too many things to see and do in the area and not spending enough time at the cabin. Your description of charming, romantic, well stocked and views to die for is a great way to bring the senses into play. Thank you again for staying with us and I hope to see you again soon!

Is there ice available for purchase?
Hi Donnie, Thank you for your recent inquiry. If you are renting a cabin, there is a small amount of ice in the freezer. We do not sell ice here. You can purchase ice in Moose Pass - 10 miles North or in Seward - 20 miles to the South. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you, Gary

Hi Tarun, Thank you for your recent inquiry. It is always best to have a rental car as we are twenty miles to the North of town. You can always take a taxi but that would get expensive. We have full service cabins for our guests. You have a kitchen, dishwater, pots/pans, etc to plan and prepare your own meals. Thank you!

Do you have a 2 night minimum in August!
Thank you for your recent inquiry. Yes, there is a two night minimum in August with certain dates, others have three and some have one. It is best to review the calendar online at my website to answer a question about a specific date(s) or call me, whichever you prefer. Thank you, Gary
