This place is fantastic with great owners. We arrived by train from Anchorage, and Kendall was there waiting to pick us up. He drove us into town and dropped us off and he took our luggage directly to the room. That way, we could shop with hauling around stuff around town. When we arrived at the hotel, Michelle welcomed us and showed us to our very spacious and clean room. She had just finished up baking cookies and cupcakes for the guests that day. These were available in their quaint dining area. They do serve breakfast in the dining area which includes, cereal, bagels, pancakes, eggs, hash browns, biscuits and gravy, coffee, juices, etc. The view is great from the back patio. The patio has high top tables and lounge chairs. The patio has heaters in the ceiling so you can enjoy your time outside in the cool Alaskan evening. You will most likely see wild life, including seals, otters, and even a bear. My family of 4 really enjoyed our stay and we would recommend that you stay here. If I was to offer a tip, it would be to bring some food from the local grocery store since they do not serve lunch or dinner.…
Book this place! Seriously, Make it a part of your Alaskan experience. The Accommodations are comfortable and fit the setting perfectly. Breakfast is outstanding and gets the day started! The porch and beach are breath taking! If the sun is not out, they have heaters on ceiling of the covered area to stay warm and take advantage of the outdoor space! After each days adventure, we’d kick back on the porch with a drink, visit with other friendly travelers returning and just laugh at our good fortune to have this Lodge to rest at. Not to mention the eagles, harbor seals, humpbacks, and corvids we viewed from our seats! We stayed four spectacular nights. The owners are around and loved talking to them too and getting local tips.
This was a beautiful stay for our family while staying in Seward for our elopement. The location is absolutely stunning and each room our family stayed in was clean and had a beautiful view on the bay. It’s very close to Lowell Point and not a far drive from shops and restaurants in Seward. Michelle was very accommodating to us and made us feel welcome. Their breakfast was delicious and they also serve coffee all day which was a plus. I wouldn’t recommend coming here with a large group or large family as the other owner Kendall made it very clear they don’t normally accommodate large groups due to past experiences they’ve had. We tried our best to be respectful of this during our stay since Michelle made an exception for our group of 15 when I called to book.
The location, the staff, and the peace of Resurrection Lodge cannot be overstated! As a life-long Alaskan I have stayed almost everywhere there is a place to lay your head. Never have I sleep so soundly and been able to reflect on the absolute solace that is Resurrection Lodge. Being able to wake up in the quiet mornings and watch the boats head out while the clouds filter in and out of the mountains across the bay is something that simply cannot be described - it must be experienced. Michelle and her husband (not to mention Patrick and the rest of the staff) go above and beyond to remind people what makes Alaska the greatest state in the Union. Whether you stay one night or one week, when you stay here, you are family!
Amazing views- super comfortable rooms and beds. We really appreciated the family friendly environment of the Resurrection Lodge. Our family group of six included 3 generations ages 15-65 and everyone loved our stay. We stayed in the three bedroom three bathroom suite and had plenty of room for everyone. The suite we fully stocked with everything we would need. Do not miss the resort kitchen/common area. Each morning we gathered there for a freshly prepared breakfast and later in the day yummy snacks were also freshly baked and available for all guests of the lodge. The view from our room couldn’t be beat but you also must spend some time an the decks outside of the kitchen area where the views of the bay and the waves of the beach are so relaxing.
An absolutely beautiful place with gorgeous cosy and comfortable rooms, great food for both breakfast and dinner, and lovely hard working staff. Not to mention the location ! Perfect for exploring Seward
Came here for the first time this past June. Kendall was awesome with our back and forth communication as we had to be mindful of the landslide they had on the only road going into the lodge. Luckily we timed everything right etc.. This place had amazing views of the bay. Sat out on the deck each morning to eat breakfast, watch the sea otters float by and the amazing mountain view right in front of us. Deck had outdoor heaters we could turn on and make us comfortable when needed. Good variety of food every morning, hot and cold, coffee and great hospitality. Offered a great free (included in stay) breakfast each morning, We stayed at one of the cabins which was comfy, clean and very accommodating. Luckily we had a rental car and could drive in town and around. It is a little ways from town but i didnt think it was bad at all. Maybe a 5-10 min drive to town possibly. I would highly recommend this place to everyone.…
The perfect place to stay if you’re in Seward. Clean, cute, cozy, comfortable rooms. A wonderful breakfast is offered each morning. Only a 5 minute drive to town. (And don’t worry, the road to town is easily drivable although not fully paved.). And finally, the view of the bay from the rooms, the dining area and the outdoor heated patio, breathtaking! OMG
Overall, we had a great stay at this lodge. Amazing views of the bay, free breakfast, and a comfortable bed were some of the highlights - all at a relatively affordable price (by summertime in Alaska standards, that is!). The one downside was the access road from town, especially during the rainy weather. While obviously outside of the control of the property, we had to navigate a bumpy, pothole-filed gravel road every time we left the property which took a good 10 to 15 minutes in our rental car.
While it’s a ways out of town, it definitely worth the trip. Michelle and Kendall couldn’t have been nicer—something you’d expect from Texans! The view was magnificent, beds comfortable, and the breakfasts quite good, expansive, and delicious, he rooms very nice. If you don’t have a car, expect $15+tip each way into town. No bars or restaurants nearby, so bring your own. They have a grill you can use.
