Nice hotel in downtown Seward. Close to seaside with great views and walking distance to downtown restaurants. Rooms are large and mine had a full kitchen. Not much for in room entertainment as TV channels were limited but didn't spend much time there. Color scheme was very

I was a little sceptical at first as it was the first time I have come across a self check in hotel. But it turned out good in the end. It was a suite so it was a welcome change from a hotel room. It was pretty comfortable really. Good location. Only a 5 minute walk to some

Response from Alaskasview, Manager at Summit View Lodge
Responded Nov 8, 2016
We are truly sorry that you felt inconvenienced. We put our guest names on the guest doors thinking our guest will go in the door with their name on it. As the manager I am available 24 hours a day. That day while on my lunch hour, I did close my eyes while in the car for a moment to enjoy the warmth. As it was not check in time yet, I did not realize this moment would be of such concern to a guest. Sorry for that. We are always greatly concerned if there are any type of issues in our suites. None of our guests before or after you reported any problem. We understand everyone is different and some people are more sensitive to smells. The signage is only for your convenience. We are sorry you found it to be unacceptable. We would never expect anyone to stay in a suite if they felt as you did and we would have gladly found you another place at no additional cost to you. It is always very disheartening to not be given the opportunity to help our guests. Please in the future give your host an opportunity to help you. Thank you
