This Bed and Breakfast is located in a country type setting. You start your morning out on the lanai enjoying your wonderful breakfast with fellow travelers while watching the natives birds, wild turkeys and chickens. Of the three B&B's we stayed in on this vacation, their self served breakfast was by far the best. We stayed in the Malia room,... More

We just spent our 50th wedding anniversary at the Hale maluhia on kona. Breakfast begins with residents drinking coffee, getting acquainted and cooking together in the kitchen. It's a country inn in the hills above kona. Roosters, wild turkeys, birds provide the sound effects. It is on a busy hill road,so a room on the east side, or in the... More

If you are looking for the perfect Hawaiian experience this is the place to stay. Clean and comparable rooms along with the whole B&B being very nice. The owner is great and so is his excellent staff. All the Kona coffee you can drink along with a great breakfast bar. Fun doing some of the cooking and a great way... More

Stayed 3 nights. Loved being surrounded by the tropical vegetation and watching the birds, including turkeys. Enjoyed great breakfasts that included a variety of local fresh fruit and delicious homemade bread. Great selection of omelette ingredients. Rooms were clean, bed really comfortable. Best sleep I had in the 10 days I was in Hawaii. Staff and owner were friendly, gracious... More

My son and I had a lovely two days together at the Four Seasons, but I did regret having to give up my last two days at your country inn. My time spent at Hale Maluhia was a true delight. Choosing vacation destinations over the internet is quite a gamble, but I was definitely not disappointed. The staff was always... More

We liked our stay here. The BnB is nicely located just above Kona in the forest, which means easy access to everything on the Kona side without being in the middle of the touristy Kona. The BnB itself is charming with a very delicious breakfast to be enjoyed on the lanai. Relaxed and away from the crowds atmosphere. We stayed... More

Stayed here just one night on the way from the Kona area up to Volcano House. It was conveniently located so we gave it a chance. The B&B was not bad, but had issues. We stayed in the Jasmine room that was large and moderately well furnished. However, strange things like the refrigerator outside in the entry-way, smell of varnish... More

My apology to this guest. We were in the process of repairs from (100 year) flash floods that took out our Koi ponds and we had workmen installing rock work. They were having a food break. As to La Bourgogne, I will see to it that our staff is acquainted, this is the first time asked for in 25 years,... More

My husband and I enjoyed a most comfortable and peaceful night in Hale Maluhia (we were enroute to Volcano or we would have stayed longer!). The property is very conveniently located near Kona but feels removed in its mountain setting. The lanai opens into the beautifully maintained garden that is visited by a colorful array of birds taking advantage of... More

We booked the least expensive room at the Hale Maluhia Country Inn as we were watching our wallet as we shopped for real estate. We were warmly welcomed in spite of our late night arrival. Our room was clean and comfortable and included a terrific breakfast that included Rachel Cook's homemade bread, an omelet bar (yep- I got to cook... More

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Pikaki-Room for 5 nights in early November 2015. As we arrived in Hale Maluhia we felt already home. It is beautifully surrounded by nature and we've got the feeling entering a lovely tree house. The welcoming was very warmthly and we were surprized by the big size of our room. The room felt...
