Dave and Wendi welcomed us for 6 days and from day 1 their hospitality exceeded every expectation. We were greeted every morning with Wendi’s exquisite breakfast creations (see photos below)and relished everyone of them. The rooms were very comfortable and up to date. We had two rooms. Each room had its private entrance and sitting area. We wanted to experience all the beauty of Kona and Wendi very kindly guided us to each attraction whether it was the volcano, black and green sand beach or makalawena beach where thoughtful hints were given to us to make our journey more special. They provided us with beach chairs and a cooler for water. We even had a clicker to enter and exit their property. We lived the Aloha Spirit at Hindu Kai B &B . I highly recommend it.

Property's Favorite Review
Our stay with Wendi and Dave was absolutely amazing and way to short. We felt so welcome. Everything is so thought through: the softest towels, the amazing breakfast, the descriptions of how to drive, restaurant guide and very fast email response. It was all amazing. The property is so relaxing and beautiful and the bed was really good! This is everything and more you want to feel on your vacation. We definitely recommend this to everyone looking for a place to stay on the Big Island!

Mahalo Nui Loa Lis and Ben for choosing to stay with us and for being our first guests after being closed for nearly 4 months. We normally don't do one night stays, but we were so happy to finally have guests we made an exception for the two of you. We are so glad we did as you turned out to be the kind of guests we enjoy having. Honu Kai B&B is as much as a destination as our island of Hawaii is, as confirmed by the many repeat guests we have staying with us. We provide much more to our guests thru our concierge service than just a really comfortable bed and a delicious breakfast. Staying at Honu Kai for anything less than 3 days will not give you or us the time to truly share and experience our island or the Aloha of our home. Please come back so we can have the time to spoil you. A Big Island Aloha from Wendi and Kona Dave

We stayed at the Honu Kai B&B in February 2020. Wendi and Dave, the hosts, are great.. The rooms are spacious and cleaned every day. A different breakfast every day, and each was delicious. They provide maps and recommendations for sightseeing and dining. If planning on going to the beach, they provide chairs, umbrellas, and snacks. Every aspect of our stay was wonderful. Highly recommend.

Mahalo Linda for choosing to stay with us and giving us the joy of having such a great couple to be our last guests before our State Government forced us to shut down due to this COVID-19 virus. Nobody knows for sure when travel to our Island will resume, but when it does, our island and Honu Kai B&B will be ready to welcome you with Aloha. We've taken this down time to do some major improvements to the property that were impossible to do when we were operating at full capacity. Some of the aspects of Honu Kai will not change when we begin to welcome guests again, such as our 3 course breakfast experiences and our concierge service. Our island of Hawaii and Honu Kai are taking steps to make your next visit to the island a safer and more concern free experience. Honu Kai is taking a more in depth cleaning and good hygiene procedures, as is our island of Hawaii. To date, May 5, there are only 70 cases reported on our island with 51 recovered and released back into our so called normal society and the remaining 19 cases quarantined at home and monitored by the health Department. There has been nobody hospitalized or who have died from this virus on our island, making the possibility of your survival rate at 100% if exposed. Hawaii and Honu Kai are working together to make the possibility of exposure to COVID-19 at 0%. We hope that when our world is finally released from mandatory lock down, and the world is given back their right to travel freely, we will still be here to welcome all of you to our magical island. Stay healthy, safe and wise, Wendi & Kona Dave

Mahalo Nui Loa Marc and Agapi for choosing to stay with us, your friendship, your good wishes in these difficult times, and most of all your Aloha. It was a true pleasure to be a part of your Honeymoon, and although we know you were anxious to get a flight back home to Germany, we were happy that the delays allowed us more time at Honu Kai to become better friends. We will be seeing you again soon! A Big Island Love right back at you, Wendi and Kona Dave

Owners are very friendly and gracious. We loved the seclusion yet close to activities in Kona. The food was excellent but also the presentation was outstanding. Everyday the napkins were folded a unique way with flowers. Our room was very comfortable with our own little Koi pond. Fun to watch all the birds and wildlife close at hand. We prefer B and Bs when traveling and this one met our expectations

Honu Kai Bed & Breakfast is a "Slice of Paradise", situated up the mountain at the 1000ft level just 10 minutes from Kona town and the beach. We pride ourselves on our breakfasts, making it more of a morning dinning experience with the surprise each morning of a new table setting and the surprise of what is being served from one of our 15 different entree menu. At Honu Kai Bed & Breakfast excellence is not our goal, it is our standard. Mahalo Nui Loa, David & Wendi
