My husband stayed there on 7th and 8th Oct 2015. There were small cotton mats at each side of the bed, a small mat around the toilet and another under the hand basin. They were all dirty. The underneath of the toilet seat and the toilet bowl rim were also dirty. The floor in the bedroom is a timber look... More

Oh Boy! All room mats are checked for cleanness and washed once a week. That the toilet was dirty is pretty unlikely, as we check them before each guest arrives. The floor in the bedroom "is a timber-look vinyl and was smelling of urine in one spot": As all of our floors in the house, except the baths which are... More

We stayed for one week at the Mango Sunset B&B and enjoyed it very much! It feels like you are a part of the family. The Honu room was our home for this week, some people would say it is small but who will stay the whole day in the room when there is so much to discover at the island.... More

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 3nights at the start of April. We were very impressed by the friendly hosts and fantastic breakfast. My girlfriend is a vegan and the owners made vegan pancakes for her breakfast. Which she thoroughly enjoyed. The coffee was great and we were able to buy some to take home with us. The rooms... We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed so much meeting and talking with Marsha. We didn't get a chance to tell her thank you and goodbye, but we'll be back. Fantastic breakfast Hans and enjoyed meeting you on our last morning there 3/23/15. The view, the grounds, room, pets, guys that helped in the mornings, breakfast and coffee were superb.... More

The most memorable part of this B&B is the owner Hans. He is a wonderful "Old School" guy with a wealth of knowledge and information and a desire to share it, but not your usual B&B host. He will greet and interrogate you when you arrive. The paperwork, rules, schedules, etiquette, farm and staff will be explained at that time... More

We very much enjoyed our recent, and too brief, visit to Mango Sunset. It has a great location above Kona where it is cooler and is convenient to the sights and shopping downtown, including Costco. The views were grand and the surroundings serene. It was a nice, quiet conclusion to our busy vacation schedule touring the Big Island before returning... More

Staying in a B&B on a coffee plantation was off the beaten track and intrigued me. So we booked the room. It wasn’t that easy though, internet glitches made things complicated but a phone call directly to the owner ironed things out pronto. We easily found the place, it is well marked off with many signs, and when we arrived,... More

My husband and I went to Hawaii for the first time for our honeymoon and I saw that Mango Sunset B&B received majority good reviews. We thought it would be neat and offbeat to stay at a B&B on a coffee farm and be away from the hustle and bustle of the town. We arrived in Hawaii around 9:30-10ish and... More

This is too bad! The review sounds overall wonderful -- until our dear elderly guest got to where I made a mistake -- by cracking a (little) joke, when I said, tongue-in-cheek, that we'd hope that her profession would soon no longer be necessary.... This was within the first 5 minutes of meeting. I simply should not have assumed that... More

Comfortable accommodations. Very peaceful. My wife and I have stayed at many BnBs over the years and this was the most delicious breakfasts we've had with many ingredients being grown on the farm itself. Would definitely stay here again when visiting the Big Island.

We stayed at Mango Sunset B&B for our week long stay on the Big Island. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the common area has great accommodations (Computer, Wi-Fi, satellite TV, refrigerator, beach towels, hammock and barbeque). The owners (Marsha and Hans) are extremely welcoming and offered us wonderful tips about places to go and things to do on... More
