We stayed here for a week in a private rental unit overlooking the ocean. I was amazed at how clean the grounds are considering the property was built in the 70's. We saw dolphins and whales from our balcony. There is a great coffee shop...More
We rented two bedroom unit on second floor. This is a high density development that has been around a long time (40+ years). The common areas are very well maintained and the pool and hot tub area are very nice to hang out in (but...More
We had a beautiful ocean view. There was quite a bit of work being done while we were there. They were doing something with the picnic tables in the BBQ area and things were apart. Also work was being done on a wheelchair ramp (I...More

Gotta agree with everyone else. Get a rental car. It's a "big Island" and you will need a car to get around to see the sights. I also HIGHLY recommend the guide book: Hawaii, The Big Island Revealed. It is invaluable for making the best use of your time on the island. I also recommend visiting Jackie Rey's Ohana Grill in Kailua. It is just up the hill from the Sea Village Condos. My favorite place to eat in Kailua, by far. Back to rental cars, I found some great deals on Kona Rental cars through Costco Travel. Also, there is a Costco near the airport that makes a perfect place to gas up on your way back to the airport.
