1.the door lock was broken. to have it fixed took a lot of talking 2.Rooms very basic, bathrooms in desperate need of renovation 3.Staff arrogant and unhelpful, need to go to management for some help. 4.Need to lighten up the corridors and change the carpet. However the size of the rooms were great.

Great value resort. Get a seat early at the Tiki bar or else. Room service wasn't good, left dirty plates from breakfast. If you don't have the breakfast plan be prepared to pay about $20 a person. There's a spa on site, however they are a separate entity from Resort. My 2 daughters went for a couples massage and one...

Wonderful views of the ocean. Well maintained grounds. Rooms need some maintenance. If you stay here please keep in mind that maintaining any type of building on the ocean is extremely hard and no one said this was a 5 star hotel Friendly staff. Breakfast buffet is good and reasonably priced but the dinning area is years past needing an...

First time to stay at this hotel. From a distance coming along Ali's drive, this place looks attractive and prominent. The hotel staff and others that work there are very helpful and friendly. The problem is that this hotel has not been updated since Captain Cook was last on the big island. The rooms are so far out of date...

We ended a round-the-island week here, and while the room was pretty standard, the location is spectacular. Easy walking into town to shops and parks, nice little lagoon to snorkel/swim at (watch out for waves though when the tide comes in), and stunning sunsets to end each day. We also loved sitting in the comfy chairs on the restaurant side...

The grounds are beautiful and the waves crash right outside the windows. The small lagoon below our lanai was a relaxing place to recover our first day on the island. So many shops and restaurants were within walking distance. The rooms themselves were nothing fancy, but we didn't come to Hawaii to sit in the room, anyway.

I almost hate to share this magnificent place so it doesn't loose its "island" charm and become to commericial. The Royal Kona Resort is my FAVORITE place to stay on the ENTIRE island of Hawaii. I will tell you why. It is not because it is the most glamours, in fact, that's why I love it. To me, it is...

It came down to this or one of those resorts where you're secluded from the rest of the island. I chose wisely. Royal Kona is located right on the rocks, and the waves crash nonstop, never letting your forget where you are. It was worth it to upgrade to an oceanfront room. We had the surf exploding against the rocks...

I'm sitting at Don the Beachcomber bar at lunch while I write this. We have been here for 5 days so far. The hotel is a little dated, but it is not meant to look like a Disney resort. It's very traditional Hawaiian and has the best views in all of Kona. There is no beach as most of the...
