If anyone has read my profile or other reviews I wrote, will know that I usually travel alone. I came to Hawaii searching for my favorite combination: volcanoes and surf. Big Island is a difficult place to travel alone especially if you are not willing...More
My wife and I spent 2 nights here and couldn't have been happier with selecting this little independent hotel which is right next to the water. First, let's get the negatives out of the way: no air conditioning, no TV, no telephone. Second, let's look...More

Our rooms do not have air conditioning. We have ceiling fans above the bed in all rooms. Most of the time, the fans are sufficient, because we are on the ocean and there are breezes, and given adequate ventilation, sleeping is comfortable. However, there are times when it is unusually warm and/or very humid where air conditioning would certainly help. Generally a second fan on the dresser would help in these situations.
The price varies but stays below the average of other seaside hotels considerably. In May 2016 we paid about $135 per night for a room with a kitchenette. Those rooms without a kitchenette were less expensive.
