This was our first visit to Stella Maris camping and we stayed in one of the Superior mobile homes. We were here for 2 weeks as a family of 4. The accommodation was fantastic, light, airy and very clean! Loved the big veranda area! The camping site had a lovely, relaxed feel and the pool area is brilliant and the pool is very big with a life guard on duty! The bakery and fruit stalls were fantastic! Being a sport orientated family, we quickly discovered the gym/sports hall ‘SoSport’! With the most amazing, funny, and entertaining Vanja! Vanja has limitless energy and made our many daily classes (which included Spinning, Zumba, Pilates, Circuits to name but a few) so brilliant! She definitely put us through our paces so that we could eat that extra ice cream without the guilt trip! Can’t wait to come back next year and do it all again! All in all a very memorable holiday with our 15 & 16 year old teens - for all the right reasons! The Simpsons - England…
We stayed 10 days here and it was lovely. *Nice showers with hairdryer and lots of sinks. *You can hire a small fridge in the ladies shower block,You have a locked section that is yours only . *Nice shady pitches. *Lovely restaurant on site next to the pool. *Brilliant pool and fantastic water aerobics everyday the man doing the water aerobics was brilliant very clear he loves his job . *You have a little bakery and fruit and veg stall. *Kids loved the high ropes. *24 hour security guard. *Our children loved the kids club.the ladies were fab !! ONLY NEGATIVES.. *floor area in front of reception and in the restaurant is VERY SLIPPERY when wet .my little girls went over and banged her head . *if you have a medical condition please note the nearest emergency hospital is an hour away so when booking please have this in mind as on site there is no defibrillator just first aid. I won’t go in to detail but an hour is a long time when you need emergency help ASAP. *You must not take your eyes of your children in the pool, the life guard was a total waste of time. I felt if I left my 10 year old while I went to the toilet I would hope he would tell them off for not diving ect but all he has done is look at his phone not a whistle blow once !!! Our first week we had a different lifeguard who was constantly walking around blowing his whistle at people for diving in and pushing people in ect and he seemed to be on watch and would not let anything happen on his watch!! Very scary to think he gets paid to be on his phone talking and doing FaceTime all day 😡. UPDATE 1...I went to tell staff and a manger came to talk to him so he took his headphones off to talk back . He took a walk round half the pool and went to sit down now half hour later he is back on his phone . I was not going to leave this part of the review until after he was spoken to by now I know he doesn’t listen to his managers I feel in everyone’s safety that they should know this before booking. UPDATE 2....I once again half hour later went to tell staff and they were brilliant they came to talk to him so let’s hope I don’t need to add anymore to this review. UPDATE 3... it’s been an hour and he is sitting down still looking half asleep and guess what ...YES BACK ON HIS PHONE 🤔. Now what do I do?? get up a 3rd time after being annoyed on my last day or press submit review ?? In the uk lifeguards sit high on a high chair so they can be on GUARD but looks like safety is the last thing on the list . He clearly likes the idea of being a lifeguard wearing red and yellow but doesn’t care about the actual job that he is paid to do!!! Such a shame as this is a fantastic family friendly campsite and let’s pray that a child does not wonder off in to the pool from the camp as the gated doors are either not shut behind them or broken but to be honest the door handles are low enough for a child to open themselves.…
My daughter had a trial dive off the beach with one of their instructors and the following day I took a boat trip and completed two dives with another instructor and two other guests. Both times I was totally impressed by their patience, professionalism, equipment and knowledge. I had never used a SSI school before but they were an excellent advert for their brand and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them, 5/5. Kevin Nuttall
I have been visiting Stella Maris camp site for six years now, but this year I tried their activities at SOSPORT and I was thrilled. Every day I was visiting them the morning program was different (pilates, ABC workout, tabata etc.). Activities are included in price if you are a guest of Stella Maris resort (for adults and kids also) and it would really be pity not to use this opportunity. Especially the trainer Vanja Gojkovic is the best. I have done several workouts and bootcamps in the past and have to say that Vanja does her job on the highest level possible. Congrats to her and hopefully activities will be available in next season’s to, since they give value to visitors looking for something more than just lying on the beach all day long.
The place is huge and looks brand new, when we were there, halfway through may, there were only about 10 other campers or caravans. The nice looking pool was closed, but the weather was exceptionally cool for the time of year so that wasn’t a problem. The restaurant on the campsite is very expensive and not particularly recommended. When you arrive you wait at the reception area until it is your turn, only to be told to walk around the campsite and find a spot where you’d like to stay and to return after. We did so and although low season we had to wait again for the one lady at reception to help the three in front of us before we could check in. There were three people at the reception and only one working, which seems very inefficient and frustrating. But the camp site is very clean and the spots are good, close to the over-commercialised town of Umag, and part of the huge Stela Maris village. …
We love our mobile home. Very convenient for 3 adults and baby. Cozy terrace. 2 bedrooms and 2 bathroom. Free parking. Everything new. Beautiful pool with bar (you can have meal as well). In September very low number of other guests. Quiet place. Bakery stand every morning.
They don't return your money if you want to stay there for shorter time, agressive and opressive security guards, very bad comunication between camp organs...They didn't return money to me and my friends...We were calling them, e-mailing them...I even came back in person and all they've done was redirecting me to other organs which redirected me back to the reception...A never ending story...Very sad for growing tourism...
The camping is nice and clean . Unfortunately one of our bike was stollen during 10 am-1 pm, the personnel was only able to say “ I am sorry go to police”, we will never see out bike again. The recommendation is to increase security meaning acces to the camping area to be more under control; maybe bracelets are a solution also. Anyone can enter and go out from the camping w/o any issue or acces control. Also you should inform tourists that recently are very often incidents with thefts and tourists should be very careful. For security I would give the minimum...... Thank you Vanja GOJKOVIC for your sport activities, I have been 2 times per day in your clases, you are a very very good instructor. I enjoyed so much the classes with u. I hope we will also meet next year. You motivate your trainees and your explanations are clear and useful.…
This is my second time in Umag - Stella Maris resort . I love It because of the relaxed atmosphere. I also love the superb sport activities that are led by Vanja Gojkovič who prepares one of the best and one of the hardest workouts. Thank you Vanja, for your dedication. You are one of the best coaches I have ever had the pleasure to meet.
For the price I paid I expected more. Camp was renovated this year. New reception, pool complex looks great, but the camp itself doesn't feel natural because the entire camp is covered with gravel, so are the streets and in some cases there is so much gravel that bicycling is almost impossible. Showers are clean and are clened several times a day, but in peak hours there is no hot water. They have build a new underpass to the seaside which makes it easier and safer to access the beach but they have placed so many barricades for cars that you cant even pass them with a bike. They really made the entire camp bike unfriendly. Around 12 am when people are leaving and entering the camp there were long ques at reception because only one cashier was open. Staff there was nice but in peak hours i would expext more cashiers to be open. Also the reception was moved this year to the other side of the camp but all the traffic boards still lead you to the old reception which is sometimes very chaotic because cars with trailors are turning around on a narrow road. There is a nice red walking path around the camp but its allready damaged which makes it dangerous to run on in at night. Beaches are great, there are all types of them, sandy, natural, shallow with pebbles for kids, but on the beach at the pool where the big playground with the ship for kids is, there is only 1 working shower. Also railings on the steps to the sea are wobbling and stairs are covered with algee and are very slippery. I have also visited additional activites in a form of guided exercises such as pilates, zumba and stretching and i must compliment the instructor Vanja for her amazing workouts, because every workout was different, exercises were appropriate for beginners and experienced paeticipants. Exercises were of different difficulties. Instructor was very open and friendly. Andreja…
