I got to stay only one night here. The rooms are modern, clean and the view from my room was incredible. I would stay here again. Loved it. The view from many rooms is amazing. They are very knowledgeable about all the incredible things happening in Medjugorje!
We love the Two Hearts!!! We love the large modern rooms with balcony's overlooking Apparition Hill or Cross Mountain, the delicious homemade meals, the onsite chapel, the beautiful gardens, the location right at the base of Apparition Hill, and the free wifi. But most of all we love our wonderful hosts Marija and Lucy!
Simple meals and accomodations, but very caring staff and peaceful environment. Perfect for our pilgrimage to Medjugorje, as it was away from the commotion near St. James Church, but very near Apparition Hill.
My son & I went on a pilgrimage to Medjugorje with Croatian Mir Center in Miami Florida who also own this hotel. We loved the location of the hotel at the foot of Apparition Hill and the Blue Cross. It was peaceful and beautiful views of Cross Mt. and Apparition Hill and the Blue Cross. The food was excellent and abundance, the service was excellent by the kitchen staff and the pilgrimage guide Sylvia, who is also Croatian and grew up there speaks perfect English and has been a guide for many years there and is very knowledgeable and spiritual. I recommend going with a pilgrimage group there through Croatian Mir Center for the best coordination and oversight of your stay at the hotel. The rooms were also very nice, warm and very clean and safe and comfortable. They do keep the front door locked after 10:00 but provide a key to a side door, just check that it works before you leave the building. The best time to speak to the hotel staff is on arrival and at the assigned meal times of your group. Ask them every question you may have on how to pay on check out at that time, and remind them when you are leaving the night before at mealtime. If you want a room with a balcony ask for this upon arrival as some rooms like ours, which had twin beds, did not have a balcony. The food is simple but plentiful and nourishing and they bring out seconds as needed. Pilgrims need to remember that we are suppose to be eating simply when on pilgrimage and open to the sacrifice of our normal indulgent lifestyles.…
More than a great hotel! I have stayed at the Two Hearts Hotel many times over the past few years. This is one of the newer hotels and is owned and operated by a Croatian family who are very familiar with the language, culture and spiritual phenomenon associated with Medjugorje. I have always felt safe and well taken care of here. The food is wholesome and very good, and the accommodations are very comfortable. But the only reason to come to Medjugorje is not for those reasons, but because of the alleged apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary that continue everyday still, for the past 34 years. It is really not a place that tourists would find themselves, since the village is off of the beaten track. If one is searching only for the most comfortable amenities, these probably can be found somewhere. But the reason I enjoy this hotel is that it has a very peaceful and spiritual environment in keeping with the whole purpose of the place. Many of the hotels and shop owners are owned and operated by people who simply doing business, but without a sense of why people come to this village, or what a pilgrimage is all about. That makes a big difference to me! I feel surrounded by peace here, especially with all of the beautiful paintings and statues of saints in the dining room and meeting area. There is even a nice little chapel for meditation on the first floor. Last time I was here, there was an Italian artist staying who was doing some beautiful paintings, and he said he drives here at least a couple of times a year--there is an incredibly beautiful painting of St. Padre Pio hanging in the dining room that he gave to the owner as a gift. I would love to have one of those! I have always felt very safe at the Two Hearts Hotel, and I find it extremely well located, close to the base of Apparition Hill and in the neighborhood where many of the "visionary" families live. It is about a 20 minute walk to the Medjugorje Church where prayers are held, and I enjoy the walk through the vineyards; for those who don't, there are taxis that regularly troll around (taxis are always 5 euros, no matter where you are going locally!). There is WiFi at the hotel and the family has been generous offering that free of charge. If you have seen the movie The TRIUMPH, this is the hotel where the young man stayed and experienced his conversion and where some of the scenes were shot (I know the young man personally and was with the same pilgrim group as him!). I would encourage everyone to make a spiritual visit to Medjugorje, and I certainly recommend this hotel as an excellent place to base one's pilgrimage. When I am here, I feel like part of the family, and the views are tremendous from the balconies. The proprietors are well connected, and this often leads to special opportunities for the pilgrims. The Chapel where Ivan the visionary has his daily apparitions at 5:45 pm is adjacent to the property. If you are reading these reviews because you are thinking of going to Medjugorje, then you definitely should be going, and not even thinking of NOT going. You will never regret it. I feel that I have received so many graces and blessings and new friends from there. Have a great pilgrimage to Medjugorje!…
