Location nice. Very aging. Rooms are very warm, small and carpeted. Bathroom is very very small and offers no storage space. Breakfast offers a good selection. That's all right But 203 euros per room / night incl. breakfast for a hotel that has come of age is too much. And then a climate levy per person.

We like the hotel for nostalgic reasons. Nevertheless, it is overpriced for supply. The rooms are very worn out, the swimming pool dirty and the restaurant more semblance than being. A star hotel that has something on its mind would never serve honey fillet (an inferior farmed fish) and the wine waiter is a laughing stock because of his incompetence. The staff is friendly, but that's it. Actually, it is indifferent and does politely trained service by the book. Too bad, the hotel has a wonderful location and would have great offers, were it not for - as so often in this time - the complacency and self-esteem of the operators the biggest obstacle.

Room and whole hotel is basic and shabby, ruther 3* hotel than 4*. Beds are not so comfy, actually 2 bads joined together which we did not like so much but they don't have other option. Bathroom is very basic and smal, shower extrimelly small. Cleaning lady feels that she should save money on changing towels, so she arrgueed with me about returning clean after taking not clean towels. I sincerelly never had issue and discussion with a cleaning lady up to this hotel. She takes 6 towels, returns 4, without a big pool towels. Than you are chasing her in the corridor for additional 2 and she said I gave you yesterday 2!!! Unbeliavable, by my standards. Spa is not working, we didn't know it. Reception staff, apart from 1 lady, doesn't speak english. Pool area is ok, isolated, but people are not using shower before entering- unfortunatelly. Restaurant is whole different story, superb quality food for dinner. Since we had HB it was worth the money and stay. Actually, I would say that they deserve 1* Micheline. Breakfast not so much, but dinner out of this world. Also terrace view is spectacular.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the issues you encountered during your stay, particularly regarding the room standards, the towel exchange, and communication difficulties with our staff. This is certainly not the level of service we strive to provide, and we will address these matters internally to ensure they do not happen again. It’s unfortunate that the spa was not operational during your visit, and we regret that this information was not communicated clearly in advance. We also take note of your comments about the pool etiquette and will work on improving our guidelines for guest use. On a positive note, we’re thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the dinner and the terrace views. Your kind words about our restaurant and its quality mean a lot to us, and we’ll gladly share them with our kitchen team. Thank you for acknowledging the effort we put into our dining experience. We hope you’ll consider giving us another chance in the future, as we are continuously working to improve our services and facilities to meet guest expectations.

I was friendly welcomed by a kind receptionist named Ms.Orsolya, my room was cosy and warm, the biggest surprice was the amazing tasty food ( 4-course dinner). The view from the restaurant was breathing. I enjoyed the pool, steam bath and Sauna. The location is great as well. I can only recommend and will come back soon.

Very good experience. Hotel in great location with wonderful views, very well maintained, since last time some innovations (e.g. new furniture in restaurant), wellness area very clean and pleasant, rooms okay, bathroom small. But best of all: the restaurant, or rather the KITCHEN, is FABULOUS! Hood suspect! Very creative chef! The Cesar Salad (with Roman salad!) good for kneeling down! And the service extremely nice and accommodating! Highly recommended! Hikes directly from the hotel possible.

We had good and also bad experience. Good was food, pool, friendly staff, location. Unfortunately our vacation was influenced by leaking radiator from which half of the room was wet (we spend here three nights) and it was very very smelly. The room was also cold and we had two small children with us. This was very unfortunate also that we have notified the staff about this but nothing happened.
All we had good time, while outside the room :(

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the food, pool, friendly staff, and the convenient location of our hotel. It’s wonderful that you had a good time outside the room during your family vacation. However, we deeply regret the issues you faced with the leaking radiator and the unpleasant smell in your room. It’s particularly concerning that, despite notifying the staff, no action was taken to resolve this. This is not the level of service we strive to provide, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, especially considering you were traveling with small children. Your comments highlight areas we need to improve, and we will ensure that such situations are addressed promptly in the future. We hope you’ll consider giving us another chance to provide you with a much better experience on your next visit. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

This was a very nice hotel, I found the room comfortable and clean. The hotel amenities were very good: excellent pool, sauna, fitness centre. I see comments from people about the pool being cold, but I thought it was wonderfully warm. Sauna a great relaxer. Bedroom was a cozy size, as expected in a European hotel, it was fine. Great balcony overlooking the town and the valley. Beautiful spot. Breakfast was a great variety of foods. The servers are typical-Austrian stoic but they were wonderful and actually smiled (underneath); too many people try to project their expectations rather than accepting how people are, and I thought the staff were wonderfully helpful. The negative: they charge a premium price for the location, but sincerely, the location isn't all that great. If you want a view of the townsite/valley, you can walk up the hill and look for free, no need to stay at this hotel. It is remote/removed from the town, and a short walk down/up a long hill! After I arrived, I had wished I had stayed within the town itself instead, so I would be nearer to restaurants, bars, and the ski area. I enjoyed my stay at Sporthotel, but next time I will stay at a pension in town, for a significantly lower price and much closer amenities. Sorry....not worth the price for the location!

Ive been in the hotel twice- in 1997& 2002, this was a hotel OMV at that time. the hotel was excellent and I had only excellent memories on those times. this year I wanted to merge our ski vacation & visit of old places and recalling the best memories I had. it was a mistake. the current hotel is terrible. the reception is terrible the ladies are borred as you come to check in, no information is given to you about the pool, your stay, sauna, etc, you need to ask for everything ans you are nit garantiert to get a comprehensive replay. one lady in reception around 40 years old speaks terrible dialect ans you need to point out her to switch to hoch deutsch.... she tries even though the client service does not say anything to her:( another lady- a tall blond lady around 30- without any mood, no interest, always borred- terrible, both have nothing to do with hoteliers.... i hope the hotel management will read it and take the actions. the hotel has a strong cigarets smell, the only bar in hotel is a smocker one , so if you do not want to smell you have 2 options - to drink a drink on the hotel room or to go to the other location. breakfast is okey if you are okey to eat during your whole stay hamm & eggs. the dinner- terrible none of the buffet dishes can be served in 3 star hotel. positive: excellent view from the room and the room numbers on the tablea so you can have your table reserved for you. other then that.... i ma so much disappointed.... btw the ski options are excellent, the panorama view is perfect.

Dear guest, we appreciate you taking the trouble to inform us of your opinions during your last stay at the Sporthotel. We regret to hear that your stay at our Hotel was not up to your expectations. Our employees make an effort every day during their duties to fulfil the expectations of our guests. Unfortunately this does not appear to be so in your case. We will be discussing your feedback at our quality meeting with the heads of departments as comments received from guests are of great concern to us, and we aim to continually improve our customer services. You have mentioned several points which I would like to comment on: You have referred to the meals in our restaurant. I am sorry to hear that the dishes were not to your liking. Recently we have been receiving very positive comments about our catering. Our new kitchen chef offers a very varied choice for hotel guests. Politeness and friendliness are a top priority for our staff and we train our employees intensively especially with regard to guest service. I can only imagine you are referring to new members of staff who are naturally being continually trained. On behalf of the management I would like to apologise to you for the inadequateness which you have pointed out. We are grateful for your constructive criticism. We take customer feedback very seriously – both positive and negative – as our aim is to main a high class standard and quality with our service performance and to continually improve on it. We hope we have not lost your trust in us as guests and would be pleased to welcome you back again at Sporthotel or our partner hotels. Best regards from Semmering Bettina Wülfrath public relations & marketing

We were not the first time in this hotel, still pleasantly surprised. Rooms are cosy clean and warm. Breakfast has strong food variety, I think all can find their favorite. Good start of the day. Waiters helpfull and friendly. Slopes 1 min drive or 5 min walk. After skiing relax in sauna with chill-out in snow. Fair price for value offered, recommended!

You can choose this hotel only because it's close to Zauberberg. Staff in reception doesn't know the time of restaurant open!! The staff in restaurant is very rough, we had to wait spoon for soup around 10 minutes and after this "buffet" was closed. And we have to pay for this 17€?! Rooms....you can hear your neighbors from all other rooms around, including from next level! We asked baby cot, wait for this few hours and housekeeping lady brought it. But it was too big for our room!! Lady said "sorry, I can't do nothing" and left. Pool water temperature is around 18-20 degrees. So cold !!! You can't even go inside Only for people who need Zauberberg ! That's all
