We have just returned from a week skiing and stayed at this hotel which is ideally located just a short walk from the nursery slopes. It is a lovely austrian style hotel which looks like it has been recently refurbished. We were in the original part of the building in room 308. It was a lovely spacious room with no balcony but quieter at night than some of the front facing rooms judging by comments of some of the other guests and a nice view of the church across the road.
The ski storage room is good, situated in the basement, with heated boot hooks and plenty of room for skis.
The wellness centre, which also looks brand new, was lovely. It was open from 4pm, although they opened earlier at 2pm when the weather was bad and people returned from the slopes early. Be warned - it's a naked sauna with no swimsuits allowed! However we used it twice and were the sole occupants with two saunas and a steam room to choose from.
The food was ok. A good choice at breakfast which is self service. Dinner not quite so good. No choice of starter and desert and only 3 main course choices. There was not always a vegetarian choice so be sure to state when booking if you are a veggie. The food was all really nicely presented and tasty, except for soup which seemed to have been watered down to the point that it was tasteless. We ate in the a la carte restaurant one night and, although the food we were eating in the guest dining room was from the same menu, the soup was definitely tastier than that served in the guest dining room, and more variety of choice of course. You get a €8 per person voucher if you want to eat on the other restaurant.
The hotel doesn't take credit card details when you check in and drinks in the bar and dining room have to be paid for in cash. In fact, this is the case in all of the bars we visited, including on the slopes, so take plenty of cash with you.
Overall we had a lovely time and would definitely recommend the hotel and location.

We stayed in Hotel post about two weeks ago, on a ski trip. Usually you dont have great expectations when booking a package ski trip, but this time our hotel blew us away. Its ideally situated in the center of a beautiful typical Austrian village. From the moment we checked in to thee time we left the staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. I must make a special mention for the two Bar staff Flo and Martin, I hope I got the names correct, brilliant friendly service every time we ate there. Chef the food was outstandingly good, particularly the sweet potato soup I had every night, best bar food I have eaten in my life, and I am an Executive chef for the past 30 years in five start hotels, congrats to the kitchen team.
This hotel exudes friendly, class service, is spotlessly clean everywhere, with bedrooms that are heavenly comfortable after a day on the slopes. I have only one constructive criticism, the morning breakfast team lack warmth and friendliness, and given the current issues worldwide with the virus, using their hands to remove and fill breakfast ( like muesli, breads removed after breakfast) items is not great to see in any property but especially in a hotel like this.
Your hotel is fab and congrats on a great team well trained. I hope to return again one day

Having missed out on last season’s skiing, it was great to get back to the mountains. Hotel Post was a welcome site, we stayed here for a week and were delighted with our choice. The hotel is located within a short walk of the base chairlift making access to the resort slopes (and therefore the skiWelt) easy. All areas of the hotel are kept spotlessly clean, the rooms are well proportioned with comfortable beds and the sauna/wellness centre is immaculate. We stayed on a half board basis which was a three course meal with a choice (of 3) mains per night, all very adequate portion size and very tasty. Breakfast was continental style with scrambled eggs as hot option, with plentiful meats, bread, cereal, fruit etc. Maybe some bacon or cooked sausages would be a nice addition? The staff work very hard and are very friendly ensuring that everyone is having a good holiday. The manager/owner does everything she can to help the and is rewarded by some very satisfied guests. Our only slight criticism is that the hotel bar is not particularly large and with the current COVID restrictions meant that we couldn’t always have a pre dinner drink as the bar was full of large groups of non residents taking all the tables. This situation will no doubt improve as the season goes on and restrictions are eased. This hotel is definitely the place to stay in Westendorf with its access to the SkiWelt, we will happily return in the future.

I would highly recommend Hotel Post for anyone who is making a trip to Westendorf. Our group used the half-board option and we really enjoyed the breakfast and dinner options, not to mention the great value for money. The place was recently renovated and they’ve done a great job, it was very clean and comfortable - especially the spa area (sauna & steam room). All of the staff were also really friendly, particularly all of the waitresses in the restaurant.

We just stayed in this hotel due 7 nights and I could not recommend it highly enough. In advance of our stay the staff were so helpful with our booking and sending us pre check in advice.

The hotel is the perfect blend of old traditional Austria and a modern hotel. Our room was bright and modern with everything one would need or expect in it. Breakfast again is fresh and more then adequate. The hotel itself is spotlessly clean.

The location of the hotel and the fact that it has a fantastic boot room makes such a difference if you have young kids, it is minutes walk from the chair lift, ski school, bars, restaurants and a large Spar shop.

I had been recommended this hotel and it definitely did not disappoint. For our first ski holiday it was great and I would not hesitate returning here.

We were leaving early in the morning and I requested some bread, again we were given 5 packed lunches, with sandwiches, drinks etc. Again very much appreciated but more then I expected.

Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so pleasant.

Good Points - Nice modern comfortable hotel. Rooms good. Helpful reception staff. Good location, close to ski lift, ski school and connecting buses etc.

Bad Points - Breakfast is very limited, not much choice and cheap ingredients. We witnessed people bringing in their own bread etc from the local bakery to eat at their tables. Dinner is extremely poor with a limited choice of 3 dishes. You are asked to choose your dinner the night before and it did honestly seem like it was pulled from the freezer in the morning and heated up later that day. Non resident food looks so much better in the bar. The restaurant staff looked very disinterested, spending more time on their phones than replenishing the food. Also be warned although it’s not the hotels fault there is a bar, taxi rank and fast food outlet next door to the hotel which get very loud into the night. Most nights were noisy until 03.00/04.00 with drunk people shouting and being sick outside in the street.

I love this hotel! I honestly think it’s the best hotel I have ever stayed in.
First, the location is fabulous. We were here for a ski holiday and the hotel is in the centre of the small picturesque town of Westendorf, a few metres from the ski hire, tourist info, shops, and ski slopes. We used Top Ski School, which is across the road too. Westendorf is a fabulous convenient base for skiing, hiking or exploring the Tirol region.
Second, facilities: the building is made up of an older traditional alpine building with pub and restaurant, and the more modern part at the back. We had a room in the modern part and our teenage daughters in the old part. Both were excellent rooms - beautifully furnished, clean, large bathrooms, and balconies. Their balcony looked over the town square and ski slopes, ours a less picturesque view of the side street BUT we got the sun from lunchtime onwards so I enjoyed many lunches in the sunshine, and it was very peaceful. There is also an excellent boot room for ski stuff, and a very relaxing spa area (open 4-8pm and no swimwear allowed). We also enjoyed the relaxing public areas for sitting to play games. The half board dining room is separate from the public restaurant and was spacious and pleasant.
Service: excellent all round! All the staff were very helpful, kind and professional. Sabine kindly showed me some very interesting hiking routes, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The servers in the dining room were very efficient and friendly, and the food was generous portions and a good selection to choose from. The bedroom was cleaned every day to a high standard.

Hotel Post is the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern luxury. We received such a warm welcome, and would love to come back in Summer time to see more of the mountains and this beautiful valley. I have nothing bad to say about Hotel Post and Westendorf - my family and I can’t wait to return!

A very good week in Westendorf staying at the Post with some excellent spring skiing. The hotel is 100m from the chair lift that connects to the main uphill system. Good food, service and the friendliness of all staff made our stay one to remember.

We had made a reservation in the restaurant (Tiroler Stube). Because there are 10 of us (grandfather, grandmother, children and grandchildren), we had already reserved weeks in advance via email. Photos attached of the 2 tables where we wanted to sit. Was accepted and neatly confirmed by Post. Upon arrival, our tables were occupied and we were referred to another, very unpleasant table in another room. Agreements are not kept here. Not a word of apology, on the contrary we were spoken to and treated downright rudely. We later heard complaints from more people about the staff. Apparently people consider that normal here. The guest is not king here but an ATM that needs to be emptied quickly. Don't go here.

We are just back from Westendorf and stayed in Hotel Post for the week. Its literally a stones throw from the 1st lift so that's no issue. All the complaints about food are unfounded as we had a few picky eaters and everyone found something at breakfast and dinner time. Hotel is spotless and rooms are tended to every day. If you are going skiing (where there is decent snow) its defo worth looking into. Only points are the town bells start at 6am and there is some partying in the town centre but we've all been there ha...

Hi although we stayed in the summer, Sabine did tell me that in the new extension they have had built there are lots of facilities for skiers I would imagine with the amount they have spent on it this would include heated storage for ski boots. enjoy your stay it is ideally placed for the slopes.
