It is a lovely traditional family run hotel. The Fuchs family offer genuine, friendly and family oriented hotel. The rooms are nice in size and offer adequate space for a weeks holiday. A wide selection at the breakfast buffet will offer something for everyone. In the evening the in-house spa facility (sauna and steam room) allows you to relax. We have visited them on more than one occasion, and we like the friendly approach that a family business brings. If you need something, they will try to help. The hotel is ideal if you are looking for a nice personal with little frills hotel, this is the ideal place to stay. In the evening it takes about 5 to 10 min to walk anywhere in town, and ski-bus stops next door - giving you easy access to the Skiwelt ski arena.
We first came here in 2016 on on a ski trip With Crystal, and liked it so much we have returned independently ever since. There have been a lot of expansions and upgrades to the hotel since that first visit, and this time we were delighted to have a very pretty Tyrollean themed room. Good remains as plentiful as ever, and there is always a good choice of main courses. The pistes here are varied and extensive, and suit all levels of ability.
I've just come back from the best stay at Ferienhotel Fuchs, in Söll. This hotel is extremely welcoming, with very relaxed environment. The rooms were clean and very warm! Rooms were cleaned everyday whilst you were at breakfast & the hotel was a short walk to the garage where we left our snowboarding equipment, a shuttle bus is available, but the town is so charming, we didn't mind the walk. The best thing about this hotel, was the food & service, we were half board, we never looked to try anywhere else, due to the food being so amazing!! 3 course breakfast & almost a 5 course dinner every night! Negative was - we didn't book for longer! Can't wait to revisit! The Fuchs family have created an amazing hotel!
We stayed a week in this fabulous hotel with Crystal but you can book their ski package direct. The facilities are understated by the family. There is a super wee spa with sauna, steam room and solarium down near the ski store and relaxation rooms. There are little touches of luxury everywhere, like the tiny radio in the bathroom. Breakfast is help-yourself to hot or cold plates, cereals and plenty of fresh bread and fruit. Dinner at the Fuchs is remarkable for a package holiday. Choices are made at breakfast for appetiser, main course, and sweet. These choices were served to us at our fresh linen-clad table. There is also the expectation that you help yourself to soup and a selection of salads from a huge salad bar. The team make everything personal by remembering what you like to drink and any little foibles. Staff are very responsive to any food allergies and always surprised us with alternatives even preparing alternative garnishes. We thoroughly recommend this ski holiday, the bus for the slopes picked us up outside the hotel and we enjoyed the latesunshine on our balcony after skiing.…
Staying at the Ferienhotel Fuchs for a week during a skiing holiday. Firstly the transfer from the airport was an hour and 20mins and after a flight arrival time of 12.00 midday, we were in Soll by 2.00pm. Check in at the hotel was very straight forward........ Mr Christian Fuchs ........who owns the family run hotel was very pleasant and proceeded to show us to our room. Room was very small, very clean and clearly in the newer part of the hotel. Balcony and room overlooking mountains giving us a very pleasant view. Ski and boot room was great......heated boot rack so skis lovely and warm to put on the following day. Ski bus stopped just 10 metres along the road and took us to the Hochsoll gondola dropping us off just outside the door and it was free to use. At mealtimes we were seated at same table for the week, and as the hotel had been extended we were placed in the extension which was devoid of atmosphere or ambience. We felt somewhat detached from everything that was going on and felt that the various dishes were served more slowly and waited a considerable time between courses on most days. Some of the waiting staff would stop and talk at great length to residents who were of German /Austrian nationality but had very little to say to the English people who were also taking their meals in this part of the hotel. Even though they spoke good English. Food was acceptable, not terribly exciting. Rarely were vegetables served with the main courses, so keeping your salad from the salad buffet is a wise choice, otherwise food tended to be a little on the dry side and bland in flavour. I would advise against the fondue bourgignon.... strips of beef, pork and Turkey that you drop into hot oil and when cooked eat with fries........ with just 2 forks each you were limited to how much you could cook at any one time and therefore your fries were cold before you got even half way through cooking your meat. The dips, curry and bbq were not big on flavour. A novel experience not one that I would ever want to repeat again. You felt that some meals were recycled left overs from breakfast, which with more imagination could have been better used with greater flavour. Breakfast buffet was good, although would gave been nice to have some variation at times. It was the same every day. I would love to have seen porridge, or prunes amongst the fruit and breakfast pastries which I only saw once. We were down for breakfast at 8.00am so either they had all gone or they only served them once a week. Coffee was already on the table in a thermos jug when we came down, and was lukewarm by the time you added milk. Rooms were cleaned daily, clean towels replaced if you left yours on the floor which I only did once. Towels for the shower were neither very big or very fluffy, and the radiator didn't appear to work in the bathroom. The radiator in the bedroom was fine and dried off gloves overnight nicely without leaving the room too hot to sleep in. The room although clean was plain and would have benefited from some mirrors on the wall which would have given the appearance of being in a larger room and also somewhere to check your appearance other than the steamed up bathroom mirror . Beds were very firm and a little uncomfortable. All in all an ok hotel with plus points and negative points. Would we stay there again ? No, food and meals are important to me when they are a part of the paid package. I have stayed in hotels in Italy and France at a ,power cost and had far better meals.…
We stayed here over half term, I cannot rate Helga & the staff highly enough - they were brilliant. Food was really good with plenty of choice & the rooms were spotless. We will definitely be back. The family dog was so friendly - my daughter loved her stay. We left a pair of trainers & they posted them to us! Great hotel with amazing staff!!
We’ve just had a wonderful week in the Fuchs hotel. Food everyday was superb. At least three choices for evening meal which you choose at breakfast. Excellent ski room facilities with heated boot racks. Ski bus stop is literally 30 steps away from ski room door and you have a choice of Blue or Pink buses. We were down for breakfast early and caught first bus at 8:10am which takes you straight to the gondola for first lift and even though it was half term we had no queue at that time. Ask for bathrobes, which are free. Our room was very spacious and immaculately clean. A lovely modern bathroom and excellent shower. The staff at the Fuchs work exceptionally hard and are friendly, polite and have excellent customer service. We would highly recommend the Fuchs hotel. We walked into town which only takes about 8 minutes along the footpath. There is a Spar supermarket just down the road and about 8 minutes walk away. …
I visited this hotel with 6 friends. We have been skiing together for over 30 years. It is our second visit to Soll, but our first time at this hotel. It's a family run hotel situated about a 10 minute walk up hill from the town centre. Plenty taxis if you don't like the walk. First impressions are that it seems to have a disjointed layout with reception desk, lift, dining areas and the bar all in the one area. But you quickly get used to the layout and finding your way around is easy. Rooms are spacious and modern. The bathroom has a radio fitted to the wall. There's a TV and safe and electric points. Our rooms had balconies. Laundry/towels were changed frequently. Dining areas are situated in different rooms/alcoves around a central table area where breakfast and evening salad dishes are on display. Breakfast is continental style, with cereals, yoghurts, bread, cheeses cold meats jams/honey boiled and fried eggs . No hot bacon or sausages :-( Evening meal is served at the table. Usually 4 courses with a choice from 3-4 mains. The food was typical Austrian fayre and of very good standard. There is a children's playroom adjacent to one of the dining rooms. The bar isn't in the best location. It's attached to the kitchen and you have to go looking for a bar tender. It feels as though you could easily disturb residents who might be in the reception area or passing through. No music. Good beer at a reasonable price. There is a ski room on the ground floor. The ski bus stop is just 40 meters down from the hotel. One of my friends said it has a sauna room but I never saw it or used it. The owners, Kristian and Helga, were very helpful, assisting us with transport information for our day trip to Kitzbuhel. We had a great time. Never went hungry and would definitely use this hotel again. I would recommend this hotel.…
Initially I was intending to be content with merely saying that my wife and I enjoyed a lovely week and suggest that readers refer back to the many positive comments about staying at this very clean, comfortable and conveniently located family hotel. We are likely to be returning to Söll for another skiing hotel sometime in the not too distant future and we shall be looking to return to Fereienhotel Fuchs. However, having read the latest review, I also wish to add that the very negative comments about the attitude of family members and the service received were certainly not borne out by our experiences during our stay the week before. We found all of the staff to be very friendly, polite and helpful throughout our entire stay. We too requested a change of room as the one to which we had been allocated was smaller than we’d hoped (to be fair, we had booked a small room via Crystal). I have to say that the response to our request was completely positive and Mr Fuchs couldn’t have been any more helpful and facilitated our move at the earliest opportunity. I can also confirm that the point in the previous comment about English guests being allocated away from the main dining room was certainly not the case for us. In fact, we were made to feel very welcome and consider ourselves to have been looked after very well. Hand on heart, my wife and I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this hotel. …
We stayed at this hotel with a group of 4 well travelled couples ranging in age from late 40’s to early 60’s and from all different professional and business back rounds. A group of the most laid back and placid people you would ever meet. Never has any of us experienced or witnessed such behaviour from a hotel owner and his son. On arrival and checking in one couple had booked a room upgrade for their wedding anniversary with our tour operator to include a bath and mountain view. When they were shown to their room it had neither and was half the size of the others in our party. After going back to reception to query this and being asked for a further 30 euros a night to move room they told Mr Fuchs (the owner) that they hadn’t got the room they booked. He then proceeded to verbally abuse them referring to my friend’s wife several times in front of everyone in reception with words I’m not allowed to repeat here. Eventually Mr Fuchs calmed down and with no apology agreed to move them the next day , which he did. They next day everyone went down to breakfast in their ski gear and headed out for a great days skiing. That evening we arrived in from apres ski and sat down in the restaurant to talk to our friends who had returned and got changed for dinner earlier. Without warning Mr Fuchs ran into the dining room waving his arms at us and shouting “ no no no no this is not acceptable, this is not acceptable “ to which we all looked surprised, “ this is not acceptable that you wear your ski trousers at dinner table” . We had no intention of wearing our ski gear at dinner but had only called into to say hello to the rest of our group. To say Mr Fuchs is abrupt and arrogant is an understatement. On the third evening one couple in our group decided to stay out late and didn’t realise the front door is locked at 1230 midnight and that they should have brought their room key to gain access at the side entrance - an honest mistake. They phoned one of the other couples who let them in. At the same time Mr Fuchs drunken son who works in the hotel was coming in with his 2 friends. My friend asked could he get his room key from reception and was then physically attacked by Mr Fuchs son. He dragged him up the hotel corridor by the arm with his female partner getting upset and pushed him at his hotel door swearing at him continually. “You lot will be out of here in the morning” he stayed. He then proceeded to grab our 60 year old friend , push him against the wall and raised his fist to hit him before his other 2 Austrian friends intervened and pulled him away. The next day because of the seriousness of the incident we had to call in the tour operator reps. On speaking to mr Fuchs and his son, his son stated he had no recollection of the night before because he was very drunk but said he was sorry. Again mr Fuchs was pushed for an apology by both us and the reps for treating my friend’s wife so badly at checkin but he refused , started shouting at her again and just walked off. We requested to be moved from the hotel to another as some of our party didn’t feel safe but unfortunately there were no other rooms available so we were forced to eat both our breakfast and evening meals elsewhere to avoid contact with the Fuchs’. I would have to say that apart from Mr Fuchs and his son the rest of the staff were very courteous and polite especially Mrs Fuchs who couldn’t have been more helpful after these incidents - it appeared she had been assigned to look after us. As far as the hotel goes it’s in beautiful condition after obviously having a full makeover recently - everything was pristine. One criticism would be that all the English speaking customers are put in a side restaurant devoid of any character - a bare room - the main Austrian restaurant that features in the pictures is kept for their German speaking clients. It was a shame that our holiday was dominated and ruined by Mr Fuchs and his sons actions because their behaviour is in total contrast to every other Austrian in both Söll and all the other Austrian ski resorts we’ve stayed in over the years. Please visit Söll as it’s a beautiful village and ski area but please choose another hotel as you to could fall victim to Mr Fuchs And his son’s abuse for no reason.…
