We stayed here from 31st December 2016 until 7th January 2017. We had two rooms for 5 of us (2 adults and 3 children) and they were very clean and a great size. The food at this hotel is fantastic and the owners are very welcoming and friendly. There is a shed for ski storage and a warm boot room...

The Waldrand is a Friendly Pension with 3 floors of accommodation above the kitchen and dining room that is divided in to three separate areas for eating, the bedrooms are ideal for a weeks skiing with Austrian beds, separate toilet and shower area. There was only one electric socket in our room that had both bed lamps and television connected...

Simple but homely place to stay. Well worth booking privately rather than using a tour company. In the heart of the village, close to bus stop for morning transport to the lifts. Food is nice, especially the salad bar and soups. main course and puds nothing special, but ok. The village is quiet, not much night life which suits some....

This was our first stay in Scheffau although we have skied many times in Wilden Kaiser. We had a good feeling about this place as soon as we arrived and the owner George introduced himself. We were not disappointed. George and Ingrid are great hosts. The food was probably the best we have had in Austria, breakfast was typical continental...

This pension is a little gem. Tucked away from the village, in a very quiet spot, all you can hear are the birds, and water flowing gently from the nearby stream, which is tranquil. The owners are George and Ingrid who are very welcoming and friendly. The food is tasty, with vegetarian option. The rooms are large, basically furnished but comfortable with...

We stayed in the Pension Am Waldrand the first week in Februar 2016. Georg and Ingrid were very welcoming. Our rooms were basic, but very clean and comfortable. The food was excellent. We had a big choice of Continental breakfast and every evening we sat down to a 4 course dinner. Exactly what you need after a full day of...

Yet another fantastic stay at the Waldrand. As always, George and Ingrid were the perfect hosts, the food was great, rooms very comfortable and lovely and warm, and the showers always have plenty of hot water. The rooms are also cleaned to an exceptionally high standard and the cleaning team are extremely friendly. We will definitely be staying there again...

This hotel was amazing, food was 5star! Very tasty! Service was brilliant! We where made to feel very welcome from start to finish!! Room was slightly to warm for my husband but perfect for me. Ski storage had plenty of room, we didn't use the boot room but it seemed big enough. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Stayed at the Waldrand over Christmas 2014. Jorge and Ingrid were very welcoming and were always happy to help out. The room was cosy but sufficient and was always warm. The food was generally good and there was an option at every meal. If you want a lively après ski hotel, this isn't it and the village itself has one...

“Personally, I would choose a room on the top floor, only because it may be marginally quieter (not that it's in any way noisy generally) and it gives you the opportunity of some exercise up the stairs (I don't do lifts)”
