We have stayed at Marlstein berghotel &gasthof in Tyrol for 5 nights. The location is perfect for trips around Tyrol since it is located at the oetz valley. The rooms are spacious with a balcony and vie of the mountains. Breakfast and dinner are fabulous! A lot to eat for everybody! The family who ran the place are super nice and very welcoming. Always with a 😃 There is a free parking space. And also a saune I think they have activities for children. If we will be back visiting Tyrol, we will come back to this hotel For sure!
We had a perfect time at Marlstein. Family Neurauter and their great team perfectly understand how to make it very comfortable for their guests. The region is beautiful and offers lots of hiking and biking opportunities.
Very nice hotel with good rooms, great kitchen and magnificent views! The hotel is situated in the Sellrain valley at 1700m and can be quite easily reached. Several nice hiking paths, including one to the nearby Feldringalm, can be started directly from the hotel.
Thank You so much, family Neurauter and your team! Everything was just perfect. Your warm, friendly and helpful hospitality. Excellent tasty and varied food. Nice, cozy and very well maintained property. Great hiking possibilities directly from the accommodation, both easier and more challenging paths up to more than 3000 meters with stunning views. With your tips we found the best paths. We were so happy to find your place! Matti & Minna from Finland
Very nice and quiet hotel in a lovely area. Great as a starting point of hiking. Food, hmmm, delicious <3. We spent there a week and every day (breakfast and supper) was a suprise for us. Superb icecreams (our daughters words ;-) ) and wine. Room was clean and comfortable with balcony and great mountain view. Very friendly family and stuff. Hope to visit the place in winter. Many thanks for unforgettable stay ;-)
Everything was perfect in this hotel. From the super friendly reception to the food, services, welness, free hiking material. The hotel is great for parents with small children as well, and as the owners and personnel know very well how to delight children, other guests were not impacted by them. The food is classic Austrian, very well prepared with every day a nice fresh selection of starters and salad bar. Same for the breakfast. In our travel time (July 2021) it was sufficient to show a vaccine proof at the start of the vacation and further there were no disturbing rules while we always felt safe. The rooms are clean and all recently built or renovated. I also selected this hotel being away from a village and busy road for quietness, and was very pleased with that.
We made a mistake about booking a month by booking through booking.com. Although the conditions required a high fee, they pardoned it. Certainly thank you very much and plan your stay. Thank you very much once again.
We have been coming to this hotel for quite some time. Its always fantastic. The family is very welcoming. After the renovation the hotel is even more comfortable. Rooms are beautiful, very good beds! The food is fresh, with products from their own farm. Always a pleasure returning to Marlstein. Thanks again for a lovely stay. Jannie W.
Even though the hotel is in quite a remote (and therefore quite) place (1800 meters above sealevel), we did not have trouble finding the hotel, as the signs along the road are very clear. The view from the hotel is stunning, if the weather is clear, you can see a lot of mountains. The check-in went fast. We were helped by a lady in a dirndl. Even though we were a bit early (we arrived before the official check in time), we could enter the room, which was very clean, modern, nice and spacious. The bathroom was clean and spacious as well with a comfortable (rain)shower. The beds were really comfortable and soft. Unfortunately, the light in the hallway was broken, but that should be fixed soon (probably short after we left). Since we were traveling for already two weeks when we arrived at the hotel, we had quite some laundry. There was no laundry room in the hotel, but that was no problem at all, since the laundry was done for us by the staff. It took just one day before we got it back. Both breakfast and diner in the hotel are good. There is a lot of choice at the breakfast, with home-made yoghurt, fresh fruits, different types of bread, et cetera. Every night, a four course meal was served with typical Austrian dishes, which were tasty. Unfortunately, one time a dish which contained nuts was served, even though we mentioned the allergy. However, this wasn't really a problem, since the dish went back to the kitchen and we got another one pretty soon. Twice a week, a hike (probably red hiking routes) is organised by the hotel. With the hotel shuttle, driven by the guide, we went to a parking place, from where the hike started. Every time, the hike leads to an alm, from where the view over the mountains is stunning. The route back was different. After the hike, you get a printed version of the group picture, taken at the highest point of the hike for free, and at our last hike we got a badge as well. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful, speaking both English and German, and even some words Dutch. In the Oetztal region, there are a lot of activities and beautiful hikes you can do. In the hotel, you can get information about this. The hike to the Stuibenfall is really worth a try, as it is the highest waterfall in Tirol and the view from the stairs leading to different platforms next to the waterfall is absolutely stunning. So, in short, we had a very pleasant and comfortable stay at the hotel, which is at a perfect location for hikes and other activities in the Oetztal region.…
When arriving at the hotel the first thing we noticed was the lack of capability of people to park their car in between the lines. Cars were parked anywhere, but preferably as close to the entrance as possible. When checking in a bit of a stressed lady in a dirndl did the administration. She spoke German so fast it was difficult for us, as non-German people, to catch her drift. When going to the room we noticed that the light in the hallway was broken. It was at first quite difficult to get the key in the hole properly. When addressing a man in the restaurant about this (who later turned out to be the owner of the gasthof) he said that it had something to do with the sensor. The room however was very nice and spacious! There were a lot of power sockets present, which was great as we had a lot of electronic devices. The breakfast was great, however at some times several items were out of stock. It was only till one of the last days that I actually found it that these were being replaced. Dinner was also nice, however it was kinda difficult to get some allergies across. Every morning we wrote it on the piece of paper for the order of the dinner that some things are not good for us to see those items later being served anyways. From the hotel a few walks have been organised. These were very nice, even though I feel that our skill was quite misjudged by the guide in the beginning. Overall we had a great stay in this place. The staff was very friendly and little Jakob made me smile.…
