Stayed at the Josl for 4 nights with a friend. This place is magical it is a modern hotel but with cute touches that give it quaint Austrian charm. It literally is ski in ski out, the boot room its about 20 metres from the end of the slopes. Fantastic big room that included a coffee maker. Beds were comfortable...

The Josl is located just a couple of hundred metres from the main ski lifts. It has a nice bar area with open fire in the entrance lobby with the ski and boot room on the same level. This room is quite small and not as impressive as others I have encountered. The room was very nice with a frosted...

What were they thinking when they built this eyesore in which was once a beautiful alpine village. This is the sort of building you would expect in the middle of a city not in the Tirol in the Austrian Alps.

This hotel is a 2 minute walk from the ski lifts. It's small and friendly, a welcome change from the likes of the Eidelweiss that has become too large and impersonal. Rooms are fairly small with "modern" furniture, with a large glass bathroom jutting into the space. Bathroom glass is frosted, but you can still hear everything your other half...

We've been to Obergurgl many times, but our hotel of choice was not available this time. In fact, Overgurgl was very busy (week between christmas and New Year's Eve). But Josl had rooms available, we like design hotels, we like a spa, and Josl has it all, so we were very happy to try out a new place. First impression:...

After 4 years we tried this modern hotel again. We loved our stay which was cosy and relaxing. It is now an adults only oasis of good food, well equiped rooms and good service. The view from the sauna and roof top outdoor hot pool is icing on the cake of a great stay.

Really friendly attentive welcome. Open fire in lounge/bar was a bit hit and miss but lovely when roaring! Good food at all meals, and great attentive service at our table from our waiter Joseph. Fabulous pool and other wellness areas, including for us Brits a 'textile' sauna, which as others who have been to Tyrol can testify is a relief...

Book this hotel early and pay up front to get a good price on a superb hotel. The first welcome ("Would you like to sit by the fire with a glass of Prosecco while I explain everything?" - yes we would!) sets the scene for a fabulous week. Little extra touches (e.g. Easter Sunday - decorated plate of Easter eggs...

Third visit to Josl, really can't fault it. We worry that it will have changed or not be as good as before.......This was our best yet!! Room was excellent, quiet, clean, nothing lacking at all. We were looked after at meals by Jozeph, absolutely top waiter, no doubt at all!! Anything you asked wasn't a problem, remembered all our little...

I visited Obergurgl on my own in early February and stayed at the Josl. I had, in previous years, stayed at the Bellvue and Madeleine and wasn't sure what to expect. I needn't have worried as the hotel proved to be just as good. From the moment I arrived I was made to feel very welcome and the staff were...

“Finest rooms on the 3rd floor are worth the extra money. Try and get one facing away from the village centre as the barrel bar opposite can be noisy at night. Rooms can be rather warm, but propping the door to the balcony slightly addresses that! Joel Keller bar underneath worth going for a boogie. Reception should give you free drinks vouchers. Only downer in Austria is that smoking is still permitted inside.”
