Traveled with a student tour group for spring break (second time, second child) and this hotel was one of our faves. Rooming with another parent and the rooms were spacious enough to not feel cramped, comfy enough bedding and the view from the dining room is absolute stellar. Loved the quaintness of the village and the church bell chiming right...

We stayed in half-term Feb 2012 and had the place largely to ourselves. The owners and staff looked after us very well, including guidance on where to ski / sledge etc and made phone calls on our behalf to check opening times. The hotel is a traditional style and its location is right in the centre of a pretty village,...

Bright, spacious rooms but no lift. Dining room and sun terrace have great views over Innsbruck to the Karwendel range. Still family-run and staff are cheerful and helpful but this former four-star hotel is feeling the pinch as recession-hit visitors stay away from this so-pretty rural village. No lunch service now and at night only a bland three-option half-board menu...

The Altenburg Hotel Mutters, Austria The Altenburg Hotel is a family-run hotel and is located in the picturesque village of Mutters with spectacular views of the Alps and the surrounding area. We have stayed at the Altenburg Hotel over many years, sometimes sharing our visit with friends who have also enjoyed the excellent Austrian hospitality. Always an enjoyable experience. On...

Hotel Altenburg is a very cosy lovely hotel in the centre of Mutters. Good connections to Insbruck (by tram) and to some ski resort (by bus to Axemer Lizum & Mutteres Alm) You can find a big supermarket in the village. Good size rooms with nice view. Very clean. All the staff are familiar and helpful. If you have halfboard,...

One of the best hotels I have stayed in! Superb dining with friendly staff and clean rooms. I would recommend it to anyone under 65. Mutters village is high and the roads steep for those not accustomed to them. I am waiting to go again though. I LOVED IT!

My wife and I have just returned from a memorable week in the care of the Wishaber family and the excellent staff at the Altenburg. The hotel is spotless and the staff amongst the friendliest we have ever met. We booked directly with them via email and Karin took care of transport from Munich airport to the hotel door with...

This was a magnificent hotel. I loved the view. The freaking alps are so beautiful. The village is great and really quiet at night. If you wanted to do some activities Karin is always willing to help you find what you want. The food is great, the rooms are clean, and the nights are cool.

My family and I spent a wonderful week in the care of the charming Karin and the other friendly staff. The warm welcome and attentive care of the guests sets this place apart. Spotlessly clean with excellent cleaning staff. Excellent food (we did half board which included dinner). Great sense of rural idyll and village atmosphere, although just 5km from...

I visited this hotel in June to go day hiking in the Austrian Alps with my spouse. From the moment we checked in to the time we departed, we were pleased with hotel and its service.
