Here now and was a little apprehensive given previous reviews, but..hotel is spotless, staff are so friendly and our room is spacious and well maintained. The food is amazing. Definitely a ‘grand’ hotel but not ‘stuffy’ in any way. And the views…..just amazing! I don’t do reviews generally but felt compelled too on this occasion as it’s so good. Hope this helps😁

We originally booked for Christmas 2020 , but due to Covid this was cancelled. The hotel asked if we would like to go in 2021. We jumped at the chance. Despite various hurdles put in our way we made to the hotel. We were shown to our room were a Christmas tree was waiting for our presents t be put under it. The view from the hotel room down the lake was beautiful. Despite all the Covid restrictions the hotel did their best to make sure as many as the activities as possible took place. Cocktail making classes , dinner in the wine cellar. New Years Eve could have the full feeling and excitement , as all the bars and restaurants had curfew , which meant no staying in the bar to celebrate the New Year. The hotel still managed to make it special by delivering canapes and champagne to the room so we could celebrate. Most people went to their balconies and toasted each other , but socially distanced. We would love to return when things are back to "normal" an experience the full Christmas and New Year festivities. A special mention must go the minibus drivers for there work in transporting guests from the hotel to the ski lifts , it made life so much easier. The restaurant staff were fantastic , the food was amazing and always plentiful with lots of choices. I must say our waiter Alexander was totally professional but also completely approachable if we needed to change anything. After skiing the afternoon snacks and entertainment in bar were a must. There is only one thing I would say we were very grateful to be sat in Stubli part of the restaurant , away from the dinner live entertainment , which at times seemed rather loud. This purrly our opinion I am sure a great many people enjoyed , but it just not to our taste.

Had an absolutely amazing stay. The hotel is fantastic and in such a beautiful location. The food was brilliant with attentive staff in the restaurant. The hotel staff were also very attentive and if you had any questions or needed local advice, always happy to help. The hotel is well placed for a short walk into the town and great transfer bus service to the local ski lifts. Special mention has to go to Diane in the Kids Club. She is the tonic you need after a hard day skiing with a toddler. Very caring, fun and Arthur absolutely loved playing in the kids club. IT gave some adult time back to mummy and daddy to relax.

Fairytale hotel and location, overlooking the lake, very romantic. Beautiful large room with balcony and bathroom with bathtub and shower. Tea/coffee facilities, soap and lotions. It would benefit from an upgrading since it’s a bit dated: doors and windows not easy to open. Breakfast table needs to be reserved in advance even if it’s included in the price paid. Staff look overworked and not very attentive for the price you pay.

We booked a stay for the hotel n April, were asked to pay a deposit and received the confirmation. All good. We booked the flights and made other arrangements. 2 weeks later receive an email saying that unfortunately they will have to close and they unilaterally cancelled our stay. They "generously" offered us to rebook for May or October "for no extra cost". Makes total sense if you were planning to go skiing. So we cancelled. Now it has been more than a week and the refund has not come through. When asked by email they answer was that it may take weeks. All in all have a feeling it is not a place that cares about their reputation. Cannot comment on rooms or anything related to hotel.

We had a lovely 2 night break in the Grand Hotel. It’s simply in the most beautiful of locations on the lake. Very close to the train station (less than 5 minutes to walk). The staff were friendly and helpful. However, our room wasn’t that Grand and was a little ‘tired’. As other reviews have mentioned the room you get may not be like what is shown on the booking websites. Our room was on the top floor and was just ok. The food in the restaurant was good. Be careful with your drinks when ordering. We were overcharged for a glass of Sprite … it cost more than a glass of Prosecco … but when we questioned the cost with our waiter, we were told it was a correct charge. The bar area was lovely and the music provided in the evening was excellent. So all in all a lovely hotel but not as Grand as what it looks like from outside.

We only went there for drinks but it was very welcoming and luxurious location, worth a visit when in Zell am see, and beautiful views of the lake, the lounge was beautifully decorated and a great location to watch the world go by, I would highly recommend taking a lazy stroll down town to lap up some luxurious surroundings

We stayed at The Grand Hotel 10 years ago for our first family ski trip. After trying numerous ski resorts we headed back to Zell am see in January this year as a couple and decided to stay at The Grand, our first regret was not returning to the hotel sooner. We received a warm welcome from all staff and had the most fabulous spacious room overlooking the lake. The food is absolutely fantastic, we are fortunate to travel a great deal and stay in top hotels, the meals at The Grand were probably the best and most consistent we have ever had in a hotel. Three options for dinner, including vegetarian means guests are spoilt for choice, all the restaurant staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and efficient. Plenty of choice for breakfast. The ski shuttle has improved as the bus now goes to the higher lift stations rather than just City Express. Again the drivers were incredibly friendly and very helpful. The shuttle was quick and reliable. At the end of the day it can be busy most guests are polite and queue but some try to queue jump. Sadly on a number of evenings we witnessed guests being incredibly rude and aggressive to the driver as there was not sufficient space which is totally unacceptable and hard to witness. Returni g back to the hotel after a long day a delicious range of apres ski snacks are available The fitness facilities are excellent, sadly we did not use the pool as it was full of children and incredibly noisy. The saunas by the pool are much quieter. The Grand Spa is a must after a days skiing. The resort has a fantastic range of runs with most people skiing respectfully of others unlike other resorts we have stayed at. I cannot recommend this hotel enough the level of service and professionalism of the staff is top notch, the staff are a true credit to the hotel and we cannot wait to return.

The staff are just so nice, and a special mention to Sabrina & Bastian, they sorted our usual rooms and a beautiful dinning table position looking up at the mountains in the morning. Also over looking the lake. Breakfast is so nice, a fantastic choice. The only thing I would change is the kids choice of evening meal, like burgers and pizza. The gourmet food suits the adults but not the kids. The snacks in the afternoon about 4pm is also a lovely touch especially after skiing all day.
