We spent an amazing winter holiday. The nearest ski-slope is across the street - a short way even for children. Our room was nice and big enought for 4 people, with a beautiful view. The staff friendly and attentive. Food absolutelly delicious. Entertiment for children at the kinder-club enjoyable and creative. Everything was perfect. We will be back in summer.
We stayed 2 nights in September and was more than surprised at the quality of the place. The staff were attentive, the food was excellent and the facilities perfect. Attention to detail, they obviously recognise people are there to enjoy the mountains and hike, so they provide a rucksack (and umbrella) in each room. The wellness area is clean and there are lots of sauna options (I particularly liked the outside hut) One last thing to note: the evening dinners were EXCELLENT. 4 - 5 courses, all very tasty. 4 choices of main, including a vegetarian. And the Wine Book (not menu) is extensive.
What did I not like about the hotel: only saw croissants for breakfast once the temperature control in the room didn't seem to have any effect and the room was very warm (we opened the window) What did i like: Great location across the road from the ski lift Great food and plenty of it Good selection of juices at breakfast Egg station at breakfast Staff very helpful right through from booking to departure Spacious, comfortable room (we took a junior suite) Swimming pool to relax after a day's skiing The hotel collects and drops us at the train station The decor, particularly liked Dorfplatz How could the hotel do better: A little more live music in Dorfplatz. Why not add some classic rock?
Coming back to this hotel we were afraid to be disappointed, since our last visit was very good. But on the contrary, it was at least as good as we remembered it. Both the very pleasing and stylish interior to the service presented by the family Viehhauser and the staff. We had the 3/4 board and it is more than enough to keep you going during the day. The food prepared was excellent and I especially liked the Austrian alternatives for the dinner. The spa is not big but quite enough for relaxation. The family is also preparing some daily excursions during the week. So for example one day Karin took those interested for a trip to Salzburg and the next day Franz Sr. took a group - me including - for a hiking trip. This with no extra charges. The only minor negative thing is that they charged 20 Euros per day for our dog. Normally it is around 5 Euros. But the dog liked also the hotel. …
From the booking thorugh the first door step till the end of stay, nothing to appreciate. Perhaps one or two waitress and one waiter (I believe son of the owner's family). Booking cancelation in a fair way doesn't exist as somebody already wrote here before. We couldn't take breakfast only. They push you to take full board even in February (not NY or Christmas), but the quality of the food is rather average. Receptionist was not behaving appropriately from the beginning, no help at all, every question was "hassle" her even though nobody was waiting behind us. Majority of waiters do not know that simple think how to put the hand in front of the mouth when coughing so they distribute their bacillus across the guests and meals...not writing about their duty to stay away from the service when they are sick. Mould in the room is just something you don't expect in 4S hotel. Any questionnaire or just simply question how did you like your stay at leaving was not in place. They are simply happy with the poor job they do. This hotel is definitely not 4s* for us. But the place for skiing is great and we will definitely come back again. Same place but different hotel. …
When I called the hotel Tannenhof trying to explain that due to health reason I had to cancel my reservation the receptionist Manuela told me she had no time to talk to me. "Send us an email, we have no time to talk on the phone to customers..." When I insisted to talk to her on and explained that I needed to cancel my booking due to health reasons she show no pity or mercy and eventually HANG UP on me. I called her back. Having prepaid (for around 100€) a room with half board I asked at least for a partial refund for the unused meals. She continued to show no mercy and refused to offer any refund. "Not even 1 Euro you will get back from us" She said and she HANG UP again while I was talking. Be aware that this is what you can expect when booking a room at Tannenhof. My impression is that they just want your many and they are unable to show empathy or pity even when health issues are concerned. In the end I lost all of my money and I was shocked by the rudeness of the receptionist. Be carefull......…
We stayed in the Hotel Tannenhof for two nights and loved everything about it. We had a junior suite on the third floor that looked out over the valley. The balcony was large and had screens on each side so that you did not have to worry about your privacy. The rooms were very comfortable and the bathroom very clean and with all the amenities you needed. The location is perfect if you are skiing in the winter or riding the gondola up the mountain to hike in the summer. It is literally across the street from the ski lift. The service was outstanding, and the staff very helpful and accommodating. We liked the fact that at almost every hotel where we stayed at in Austria, and had half board, you were assigned a table and that was your table for your entire stay. Due to this you get to know the wait staff well. We were very fortunate to have Agnes assigned to our table, and thoroughly enjoyed talking with her. Not only was she very efficient in providing us with our meal service, she was also very friendly and thoughtful and she made our stay at Hotel Tannenhof even more special. There are quite a few hotels in this area and we were very pleased that we picked this one. It was fantastic!!!…
We are staying at the hotel for one week skiing. We travel a lot both private and business and we have never experienced a hotel like this. It is located just in the heart of the ski resort next to the lift. The welcome and service are outstanding. They really take care of you and the hotel has everything. The food is excellent and on gourmet level.....looking foreward to the coming holidays😃
Wonderful alpine style hotel with great location right next to the ski slopes. Room was large, spotless clean, with balcony, nice bathroom with all amenities needed. Food is amaizing and relay something for gourmet lovers. The staff was wonderful.
Although the hotel was empty we have receive the worst room on last floor, under the sloppy roof. The smell in the hallways is bad, and the fixtures are old and outdated. In the morning, I was coming out from the shower and i bumped into a man who let himself in our room. He spoke German only and insisted to come in. My husband was in his underwear... The guy comes in and looks at the radiator and leave... with no explanation... from anybody. We recover from the shock, husband goes to take a shower and I take the bathrobe off and turn to get dressed, right in front of the door (there was no other place in the room). That moment the door is opened AGAIN and ANOTHER man who comes in! I am completely naked and start to shout at him in English, he said something in German and leave the room. Pointless to say that NOBODY from the hotel mentioned the incidents and we never received an explanation or any apologies. Confirmed price was 130 Euro. Our son did not need or have an extra bed (that was 30 Euro) but we were asked to pay nevertheless. It was not to cover his food because we paid 10 Euro for that too... Food for half board was mediocre. Menu in German only (entire hotel is made for German speakers only, no En info or TV channels). Total price for one night HB with a glass of wine and a beer for dinner was 180 EURO. WOULD YOU PAY FOR SOMETHING LIKE THIS???? WOULD YOU GO BACK FOR MORE??? How is it possible to pretend that you are a 4**** superior and not call ahead in the room if you need to urgently enter? Especially when you only have 3 rooms occupied? HOW can you not apologize for such a huge mistake??? The only improvement possible is fire all the personnel or close permanently. I vote for the last option.…
