Pension Ferstl is very centrally located in St Gilgen, within a very short walk of the lake, the town centre, bus stop and cable car up the mountain, which is fantastic. My room had a lovely view over the beautifully maintained garden, which guests are free to use. Unfortunately, the room was a disappointment in comparison the the situation. The... More

I arrived late in Salzburg with jetlag and found out that since it was a Saturday, had to wait until 11 PM for the final bus to take me to Sankt Gilgen. So I emailed the hotel saying I would come late. When I finally arrived there and was walking to the Pension, Monika was walking to the bus stop... More

The room was very clean but it was small and poorly furnished. The bathroom was very small. Nothing special. Breakfast was good, fresh and with a good selection of food. The staff was nice and making a real effort to help but they are much less available during the evening. They're really trying and I don't want to spoil it... More

We had a wonderful sunny day at this Pension, which not only has accommodation, but has an excellent cafe as well! We sat down in the quiet back street of St Gilgen, and enjoyed excellent coffee, as well as home made wholemeal flour apple slice-the best cake we have tasted for some time! Try something different! Try this instead of... More

Fine board with excellent location. The fine personnel - Monica, Mihael, girls giving a breakfast and in cafe create the magic atmosphere of a cosiness and rest: the candles lit during a breakfast, every day - fresh flowers on tables. In the evening - candles in corridors and candies for guests. Very much it was pleasant to wake up under... More

Well, this is a village everything nears your place, Ferry is coupla minutes walk and shops are every where. The Hotel it self is awesome, their early breakfast and their bar as well. Owners and staff of this Hotel are very nice and helpful, just point what you need. And you must taste their cake ;)

We walked around St Gilgen as we had not booked anywhere and Pension Ferstle stood out as a well kept, friendly pension in a great location. I was a bit worried when we were given the very top floor but Michael carried my (very heavy) bag on his shoulder up 4 flights of stairs. The room was clean and attractively... More

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Pension Ferstl and in the beautiful town of St. Gilgen. The young man that was in charge, I think he was the nephew of the owner, was very helpful and couldn't do enough to make our stay a pleasant one. The breakfast was very good and plentiful. The wifi was free and... More

I have absolutely no complaints. Very nice place with attentive personnel. Very good breakfast buffet. Location is very good, near the lake and main points of interest in St. Gilgen. You can reach Hallstatt in 40 minutes by car. Fully recommend the pension!

Pension Ferstl was delightful. As is your host Monika.....who see;s what you need before you even know it. After many years in hospitality, Monika knows how to make you feel special. From arrival invitation to welcome cake and coffee....to the little special things she does around the pension...like leaving nuts with the nutcraker, and little cookies, and candels up the stairs...
