We stayed here for nearly a week with our two children aged 7 and 5. The Resi apartments are connected to the main hotel and you can have access to everything that the hotel offers, but at a lower price. Our apartment had a curtained off area with bunks for the children, and a balcony for sitting and reading. Breakfast is superb - loads on offer and we deliberately ate enough at breakfast that we wouldn't have to have lunch. Kids loved the buffet and trying new things. The hotel is in a good location to explore all the cablecars of Saalbach and Hinterglemm. The village of Hinterglemm is less than a ten minute walk along the river from the front door. The staff are super friendly and helpful. There is also a kids club onsite which is free, where you can send the kids to do activities for a couple of hours at a time, including 6-8 in the evening (thank you Melanie!). The kids club highlight of the week is Thursday, when they get to make their own pizzas. The hotel grounds are lovely, with several different pools and many corners to sit and relax. Fantastic hotel in a wonderful place. We would love to return.…
Nice room Nice breakfast Nice swimming pool (indoor en outdoors) The woman who was the hotelmanager during our stay was a very friendly en nice host The hotelroom could do with a water cooker, so you can make your own tea
The hotel Johann consists of several appartments. Which are therefore cleaned only once/twice per week? Beds etc are not made, so it is not really a hotel. Also when you want to eat in the restaurant, you need to make a reservation. It made us feel not really welcome, as the first night we just had to walk outside to another place. The Theresia hotel has nice swimming pools, and a good gym. There is one slope ending closely to the hotel. To enter the sloped you need to walk and cross a busy road. Also the road noise might be bothersome (so perhaps ask for rooms on the backside of the hotel).
I stayed in one of the Hotel Johann's six bedrooms, having previously stayed many times in the main Hotel Theresia, which is joined by a connecting glass corridor. My very comfortable room, a double for single occupancy, had the traditional features I have always enjoyed in the main hotel: comfortable bed, tv, fridge with complimentary soft drinks, plenty of storage and a good sized balcony overlooking the mountains (well soundproofed against any road noise) and since I prefer a shower, the small bathroom with shower cubicle was perfect. Although the Johann is principally designed an apartment-hotel, those staying in bedrooms have full dining in the main Theresia restaurant with excellent buffet breakfast, hot lunch, afternoon cakes and five-course dinner, all beautifully served and with organic food, which has a Gault Millau and other recommendations. I can honestly say every mouthful was delicious, and beautifully presented. Guests in the Johann also have full access to the extensive spa area with indoor and outdoor heated pools and all the other facilities, I cannot praise this hotel and The Theresia enough. They are run by the very welcoming third and fourth generation Brettermeir family who have an absolute passion for providing guests with the very best and combine a family hotel with superb service and accommodation. Their staff, of whom they take great care, are charming and helpful. That's why so many guests return year after year. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and The Theresia, both in winter (ski lockers provided and ski hire at brand new SKILL shop opposite), and in summer when it provides a beautiful refuge in the lush mountains for a perfect stay. I shall look forward to my next visit with great joy!…
A great hotel, right by the slopes, food was fantastic for both adults and children and the facilities in the hotel are great especially the pools. The apartment had much more space than we were expecting and was spotless. Staff all really friendly and helpful and it was my birthday while we were staying at the hotel and at breakfast that morning we were greeted with a bottle of champagne as a gift from the hotel. Would definitely return.
Nice hotel location close to ski lift slope down to the hotel. Warm welcome, nice hosts. Nice outdoor pool and saunas Perfect child care - ski instructors comes for child and delivers back to the hotel where children can play in kids room!
We had been recommended to Hotel Johann by a couple of friends and it certainly lived up to expectations. We had a nice apartment with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen and living area. The children loved the indoor and outdoor pools, as well as the water jets/steam room etc. We ate all our meals in the Theresia's restaurant (as it was summer so a bit quieter) and the food was delicious! The crepes at breakfast, and the mid afternoon cake buffet were particular highlights! We used the hotel bikes, and enjoyed all the cable cars/mini golf etc included in the free Joker pass.
We stayed for a week in a self-catering apartment this August. The apartment was spotless and equipped with everything we could need. The location of the hotel is great --walking distance to Hinterglemm and the lifts there for all the great hiking in the mountains. We loved relaxing at the pool, which has to have one of the most beautiful views of any pool that I've been to. There's way too much to do in the area -- it was a fantastic holiday.
The hotel and the amenities are great. The heated outdoor pool has spectacular views on the mountains. Our kids LOVED the daycare center. The food was excellent. We went there for both winter and summer seasons and our experiences were great each time.
What a lovely hotel and wonderful staff who were fantastic. The food was absolutely fantastic and the best we have ever had on any holiday. It is a family run hotel who really have high standards and we loved it and are returning shortly.
