Detailed Reviews
We’ve been skiing for more years than I care to remember and are a group with varying hotel requirements but The Gappmeier met them all. The hotel is warm, comfortable and very tastefully decorated/furnished. The rooms we had were huge and most had gorgeous mountain view’s. The important stuff; beds very comfy and shower amazing. The ski boot room has locked cabinets with boot warmers and the spa area with the heated pool and herbal teas was a delight after a days skiing. Finally I must mention the staff; Andreas the manager was always on hand if needed but never intrusive, our waitresses in the evening were so friendly we felt incredibly welcome and the room cleaning ladies did a brilliant job. Thank you hotel Gappmaier, we’ll definitely be back!

I went to stay with my girlfriend and everything was perfect! The rooms get cleaned every day, the food is amazing, the staff is so friendly and family-like. Lots of facilities that comes with the room (steamroom, sauna, relax area). They try their best to accommodate your wishes (Gluten-free meals for example). If there's a problem with the room, they will try and fix it.
Beautiful view from the balcony, too.
We can't wait to visit again!

This hotel is simply lovely.
We visited in Feb to celebrate my 50th Birthday, sadly on day 3 I had a ski accident and had to cut short the holiday to fly home.
The staff are lovely! The hotel is warm and cosy, the beds are very comfortable, theres a spa again which is lovely. The food was probably the best we had in Saalbach. I cant recommend this hotel enough and will definitely return.
The staff were very attentive following my accident helping me to organise things. thank you, we will be back.

We were very satisfied! The location of the hotel is very convenient and so is the design. The room was very clean and modern. The wellness area is very nice and quiet. The pool is the perfect temperature and the food was also very good. We received a very friendly welcome and felt very comfortable.

Lovely modern hotel with good facilities & comfy beds.
Our room was large with balcony and views of the mountain.
Breakfast very nice.
Excellent spa with pool and jets.
One minor point, it’s a bit tight on storage if you’re there for a longer stay.

This hotel is fairly basic but clean, located just 5-6 minutes walk from the Schattberg Gondola. The reception staff are friendly, and the service is generally pretty good (I asked for extra pillows and a spare key and both were provided very promptly).
Unfortunately, the hotel is let down a little by its food. The breakfast was fine (standard Austrian buffet), but the dinner (we were half board) was poor. Very salty food, and served in tiny portions in an attempt at fine dining, which didn't really work. Once night I was presented with 3 lamb cutlets each the size of a 10 pence coin. Not the hearty meal you need after a hard day on the slopes!
Also, it quickly became very clear that if you didn't order alcoholic drinks with your dinner, you weren't going to be very popular with the dining staff. They got their own back though, presenting us with a €4.50 bill for a small bottle of water and €1.50 for tap water the following night! We decided to eat out on our last night.
Still, on a ski holiday for us location is key, and you're pretty much 5 minutes walk from anywhere.

We have stayed in this hotel one week every winter for probably more than ten years. The Family Gapmaier in three generations knows how to treat their guest and maintain the facilities. Everything is always in ship shape, and we will soon be back again!

Have stayed here c. 8 times over the last 15 years. Lovely people, nice food, fairly priced for a ski hotel, great location and great access to c.270km of ski piste. Plenty of flights options - Salzburg, Innsbruck, Munich, etc. Wouldn't hesitate ton recommend or return.
