Comfortable hotel in prime location. Beautifully decorated and with a very nice pool and spa-area. Staff is friendly and helpful - a special shout out to Muko who really went above and beyond to make us feel well taken care of. Great breakfast spread, and dinners were fine. Would love to come back!
As a group of 10 'Gentlemen of a certain age' (44-63) we had certain expectations of our 4th skiing trip together and third trip to the area. The hotel surpassed all of them. The staff, lead by Michela, are superb, particularly Theo in the restaurant who does not stop and couldn't be more attentive. The food is excellent as is the decor in the bar and dining areas. The bar prices are reasonable and staff always accommodating. The bedrooms are smart and spacious particularly the corner rooms which have extra space and facilities. The boot room is warm to the point of hot and spacious and has a separate entrance accessable 24hrs a day. The hotel is ideally positioned just metres from the ski hire shop, ATM, bars, supermarkets and most importantly the gondolas to some great skiing areas. The only criticism of a fabulous week was a particularly rude 'Cockney Geezer' who managed to bring shame on any UK guests of the hotel with a particularly pathetic display of rudeness at breakfast. The disgraceful way he spoke to Theo left all of our party ashamed. We all felt the need to apologise for his behaviour later in the day. In other circumstances, had it not been a family restaurant, the outcome may have been very different as was the feeling within our group. Note to anyone; if you stay at a hotel remember you are the 'guest' and hard working staff cater for a lot of people per sitting with advertised times for meals. Just because you might think it doesn't suit you or you want your eggs done in a certain way doesn't give you the right to be obnoxious and spoil the experience for others. That aside we will be going back if we can find a date for next year as unsurprisingly it would appear to be fully booked at the moment …
Basic hotel with good location Nice and helpfull staff. Spa area was very basic and dirty if you came late. No towels so people were sitting without towels in saunas with feet on the benches. Not very higyenic The steambath which is mentioned on the homepage wasn’t there. Two saunas instead. Furthermore it would have been nice to know that the spa area is for children as well. I felt uncomftable showering naked with kids running around Skiarea opens at 8.30, so the fact that the breakfast starts at 8.00 is quite frustrating. We found it too late.
well what can i say about this hotel which is bad NOTHING, what a great time we had 10 guys ranging from 14 to 56 years of age, the décor is fantastic, the food was fantastic, the rooms were fantastic, our hosts Pejo and vana were the best we have ever had, nothing was to much trouble always smiling and very attentive, the heated pool and sauna was a welcome relax after a days skiing,
We are a group of 10 that have just returned from the Panther and we all agreed it was the best Ski hotel we have stayed at during our last 9 trips. 50 yards from the nearest two gondolas so a great location. Hotel has had a recent refurb so everything was new and modern so ignore any old reviews on here. The room was modern plenty of storage, comfy bed and a good shower. Large boot room that was clean with plenty of storage and boot warmers. Good spa with heated outdoor pool and sauna, plenty of sun beds to lounge on and you get a robe and towel from reception. Good breakfast and evening meal, choice was limited but what we had was excellent in flavour, presentation and quality so couldn’t complain. By far the best part of this hotel was the staff, the Manageress was very friendly and always eloquently dressed and best of all Peter and his team in the restaurant were so welcoming and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. If I was going to Saalbach-Hinterglemm again this is where I would stay…
Ideal location for access to the lifts, super friendly and helpful staff, great facilities, good food, warmest boot room in Christendom! Free bath robe and sauna towel loan if you ask, free safe in the room- ask for a key as you check in. Would definitely stay here again.
Went skiing in Saalbach Austria,I highly recommend the Panther A Hotel, the staff were excellent, efficient and very friendly, rooms were great and clean, and the spa facilities including the outdoor pool were just what was needed after a day on the slopes. Highly recommend the hotel, great value and great service.
A group of 4 of us have just returned to the UK from a week staying at the Hotel Panther'a. It was an absolute joy staying here. Completely refurbished, beautiful decor especially the lighting! Food was superb for all of us, I'm vegetarian (no fish or meat) and had delicious meals too. What stands out at this hotel is the family atmosphere of the staff, led by Michaela. We would like to say how much they added to our holiday, special thanks to the brilliant bar staff (especially to our Italian and Austrian guys!), to our Greek Waitress and Croatian head waiter. Thank you all for welcoming us with open arms, we had a blast. Highly recommended.
Had a great ski holiday and the hotel staff couldnt be more helpful. They have all been very friendly, even giving me ice for my knee at the end of a long day on the slopes and even though we arrived on the first day after 11pm we had a plate of cold meats and bread in our room. Our room is one of the largest we have had when skiing and had a balcony with view of the slopes. The food is good basic Austrian food. The breakfast has a range of cooked and cold options and if things ran out they were restocked. There were choices of mains every evening with a salad buffet amd soup to start and a range of deserts. The wine was nice and at 25 euros a bottle similar to other places we have stayed at. We got bottled water for free every night. My husband loved the outdoor pool, although it was small it was very warm and the sauna was excellent. If we visited Saalbach again we would stay here…
We paid for half board but ate out as we were offered the same meal of pork 5 times for the evening meal within a week. There were also no vegetarian options with only fish on offer. Quality of the food was also poor. Also the same starter EVERY night of beef broth. Room was satisfactory, outdoor pool was nice, location was great but as mentioned in previous reviews this is the only reason it is a 4* hotel.
