This is a great hotel for families that are looking for a ski holiday in Austria. Be mindful that this is a family hotel. There are lots of (Dutch) families that book a week at the hotel, so it gets really crowded with small children. If you manage your expectations, you are going to have a great stay.

The breakfast and dinner buffet was great and fresh and the staff really puts in an effort to make you feel at home.

The rooms need urgent updating. The wooden furniture and panelling on the walls give a really last century ‘feel’ for a four star hotel. One thing, out of control of the hotel, is the noise drunken people produce late at night outside the hotel. Stay in a room on the back of the hotel (view is great there too).

Loved this Hotel. Arrived just before Christmas and had the hotel pretty much to ourselves.

Food was amazing, room was comfortable and we managed to have adjoining rooms allowing free movement without having to open our main door.

The staff were fabulous and always willing to help.

The only negative if I can call it that is the location. It’s at the end of town so it’s about a 10-15 minute walk to the gondola. The nursery slope is about 5-10 minute walk.

Bus stops are close to the hotel that take you to the gondola and Zell’

Would recommend this hotel if staying in Kaprun.

Wooden hotel with a certain atmosphere. The reception clerks and the barman have a certain behavior. He wants to sell desperately drinks. He could get more orders when the drinks were not so expensive. The rooms are tidy and clean. The wifi is bad, very bad. In 2023 this is not acceptable. Parking is available and spacious. Breakfast is good and has a lot to choose from. The dinner buffet is good and has enough choices to make from. The food is cheap but therefore you get food from the day(s) before when it is remaining. Prepared in a different way. Each evening has another theme and food is served accordingly to that theme. Even if it is prepared with leftovers from the day before. Wine costs extra and will be charged with your room number. The receipt with the costs can be found on your reserved table the next morning. You can mention your tip and give your signature. So no surprises at the end of your holiday. This is a very good solution. I appreciate this.
Because you want to avoid discussions at the checkout.

Overall, a lovely place. The food is absolutely amazing. Huge breakfast range of cereals, fruit salads, yoghurts, pates, breads, cakes, hams, cheeses, coffees, juices, and of course cooked bacon, egg, sausage. Evening meal buffet also beautifully made and presented with so much choice and a different theme every night, catering for all food intolerances and diets. The staff are really nice as well, but watch out for them bringing you a carafe of wine when you wanted a glass, and adding random drinks onto your bill.

The rooms are a bit bland but very big and clean with a fridge but no kettle. Nice showers but no bath, although you don’t need it as the spa is so good. It says no bathing costumes, but around half of people were wearing them.

Rooms are cleaned as early as possible, so we regularly found that we would have to wait 30 mins upon our return from breakfast before we could get into our rooms to get ready to go out skiing, which was annoying. Also the WiFi is absolutely useless, so don’t expect to be able to rely on it.

Still a nice place near to the skiing bus stops. Had a great time. Thanks to the staff.

Hotel rooms come with balcony and excellent view of the mountains and river. Nothing fancy about room furniture, but spacious. Breakfast served daily and it is ok. There is an indoor pool which I have not tried. Parking is free and there lots of them. Staff in general are helpful and kind (apart from one very rude man).
Unfortunately, the internet is useless and you don’t get signal at room (well at least my room). I stayed for 5 nights and kept complaining every day , but seems either there is no router close to room, or hotel IT not competent enough. As a paid customer, you would expect hotel to move you to another room, but that was not offered either!!!!!. On day 3 I asked them to allow me to check out if they can’t provide the service, they accepted but no refund 🤦🏻‍♂️. So I had to stay without internet in room and had to go to close to corridor whenever I needed internet. The hotel manager kept apologizing and she tried her best, but let down by IT.
The restaurant manager is very rude human being and have double standard in treating people. Wonder how he was appointed as a manger , while his staff are well behaved and accommodating and they don’t agree to how he is treating his guests.
Anyway, this hotel should have a rate of 5, if it was not for internet and that RUDE restaurant (so called manager).

We've just returned from a brilliant week at the Hotel Toni. Everywhere was exceptionally clean and lovely spacious bedrooms. Very friendly and helpful staff. The food was wonderful (in particular the porridge served at breakfast). A great choice of salads, main courses and vegetarian options. All to a very high standard. It was really nice having our own designated table in the restaurant for the week.

Our only complaint relates to asking for a replacement room key card as we lost one. We gave our room number at reception but the receptionist didn't ask us to confirm our name to ensure we were asking for a key to our own room. We came away thinking we could have asked for a key card to any room in the hotel.

Great ski room for the storage of skis and boots. It would be nice to have a bench in there to sit on whilst putting boots on.

We stayed at the Toni at the end of January and thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.Undoubtedly in my opinion the strength of this hotel is the staff. They were brilliant.
On arrival we were warmly welcomed by Valerie in reception.Unfortunately we arrived on the same day as a large group of approx 18.Our quiet drink in the bar before evening meal was impossible and resulted in not frequenting the bar any further during our stay.Sadly some of the party had no respect for the staff, hotel or other guests. On our first night we discovered that we were next door to some of the noisy teenagers. On contacting Valerie she ensured that we had another room on a different floor and for that we are eternally grateful. She dealt with any issues we had without any hesitation.Thank you.
Hotel Toni is located on the outskirts of Kaprun and therefore much quieter but only 10 minutes walk to lovely centre.Bus stops to Kaprun lifts and Zell just outside hotel.Rooms are spacious with great views and spotlessly clean.Good indoor pool and spa facilities but no swimming costumes in spa.
Meals at the restaurant are buffet service but are amazing.Chefs need to be highly commended.Brilliant.Staff at the restaurant work tirelessly in sometimes stressful conditions and are extremely patient. Our grateful thanks to Gerhard, the restaurant manager who does a fantastic job but also Andy (drinks)and Marina who were always polite, sociable and helpful.
Towards the end of the week a group of 40 arrived and this further impacted on other guests due to the behaviour of some. This is a great hotel -it is just a shame that some people in large groups can’t manage their alcohol and lack any consideration for others.
We will return to the Toni in the near future because of the Hotel and Staff and pray that no groups are there at the same time. Many thanks to the Staff for making our stay as enjoyable as possible.

Excellent hotel. Staff exceptionally friendly, food bountiful and hearty, great wellness centre with 4 saunas, jacuzzi and a decent size pool, a great location, and, overall, a refreshing change from the more formal, traditional Austrian style. I've been skiing for 30+ years and this is comfortably one of the best places I've stayed. Can't recommend it enough.

We stayed at the Toni over Christmas for a week. The room was immaculate and a good size. We were impressed with the food. In particular, the breakfasts were superb. Great choice, and the fried eggs were particularly awesome! The service was friendly, and I would like to mention Kamil who was our waiter: such a nice chap who really helped to make our holiday great.
The pool is well kept and a good size. Our two daughters loved a swim after a day’s skiing.
We liked the bar; a good atmosphere and a good selection of beer and wine. Try the Ottakringer wheat beer: absolutely lovely!
Overall, really great. We’d certainly come here again. Thanks to everyone at the Hotel Toni.

Are there facilities for sterilising / making up baby bottles in the hotel please?
Answer from Gemma V

Hi We didn't use bottles but as there is a bar by the side of the restaurant, I'm sure they could wash them. There was a small fridge in the room but I don't think you would fit a day's worth of prepared bottles in. Hope this helps
