We stayed in this guesthaus for 1 week of skiing holidays. The location is good, just near the road. Ski lifts can be approached by 6min walk or by skibus that stops right next to the guesthaus. The castle is a short walk away. Kaprun spa complex Tauern spa is 15min walking distance. There is Oldtimer Museum with impressive large selection of old cars, bikes etc just nearby.
The rooms are quite small, but with a big balcony. Clean, freshly renovated bathroom with good shower.
Breakfast was very basic and same every day. Would suggest the owners to think of serving a different menu at least once per week.
Service was ok, did not feel very warmly welcomed but was polite and decent.

Very nice and cozy pension with nice stuff. Everything was cleaning and working. Relax zone with sauna and steam room is included in price. Skibus to Kitzsteinhorn is situated directly opposite the hotel. It was really pleasant stay.

Me and my cousin were very happy with the acomodation. This is a guest house run by the Steger family. Maria Steger and stuff were very nice and welcoming. Rooms were very clean. The suana was spotless every day. Breakfast was great.
Lots of parking infront of the guest house.
Overall very good expirience for a good price.

We had the smolest room in house (room nr 14). It was 3,5m x 3,5m + small bathroom 1,5m x 1,5m. Most of space took bed and wardrobe. Impossible to fully open door to bathroom. Too hot - impossible to turn off heating. Impossible to turn off ventilation in bathroom. If You have a bit more stuff - impossible to move. Breakfast good but with no big choice. If You came as last not much left.
Nice sauna. Bus stop very close to hotel. Very clean.

We stayed at this pension on our snowboarding trip to Kaprun, for 10 nights.

The guesthouse is very well positioned, and the free skibus is right in front of the house.
Even if it's near the main road in Kaprun, the rooms are very quiet and we slept soundly every night.
The rooms are nice and clean, but a bit small, and overcrowded with furniture.
The bathroom is nice and clean, but the shower is a bit small and you have to be careful not to hit your elbows and what else.
We had room 1, first floor, with balcony. The view was nice, to the back yard.

The breakfast is very varied, you have a nice choice of breads (delicious warm buns!), meats, cheeses, cereal etc, and you can boil your own egg as you please.

The saunas are very nice, you have dry and wet sauna, and showers with massage - very nice after a hard day on the slopes.

Daniela the host is very nice, friendly and helpful, speaks good English too.
There was a misunderstanding with our reservation, but she helped us sort everything, so there was not problem in the end.

We would certainly stay here again if we were to visit Kaprun again.

We spent 7nights and it was perfect.Frau Steger is very nice, rooms are very clean and comfortable, breakfast was delicios. The ski bus station is across the street. 10 min by walk from the centre ofthe town. There is a sauna if you want to use it and a ski room. Gaestehaus Steger was perfect for a week of skiing.

Booked in April 2016 for a week skiing in February 2017. Cancelled 4 days later due to change of plans with our ski party. Wouldn't refund my £300 deposit. Tried to contact owner, was told she was away and refunds weren't given

Going for ski holidays to Austria for me means an excellent ratio price to quality. And that's what we got in the Steger, located in the Schloss str, Kaprun.
It's a very cosy guesthouse with friendly and helpful, yet keeping the proper distance, hosts. Our appartment was nicely designed with a comfortable bed. Bathroom and WC have a heated floor what makes it easier to get up in the morning :)
Breakfasts are served as a buffet with some local products always offered.

We had a very good stay at this pension. Very clean, beds were a bit unconfortable and there was a poor selection for the breakfast. The price was fair therefore nothing really to complain. The pension is located very good, close to many points of interest and also close to the bus station. Staff was friendly. WiFi not very good. Rooms were maybe a bit too noisy, we could hear what the neighbours were talking. In any case, we would stay there again. In the summer the summer card is an real advantage.
