Excellent hotel with good facilities. Half board has an extensive breakfast and dinner is varied and good. The wellness is wonderful after a day of skiing. There is one major disadvantage: breakfast is only available at 7:30 am! The first bus for skiing leaves at 7:45 am and that doesn't match. Eating breakfast 15 minutes earlier would solve the problem.

4Jahreszeiten is a good hotel within a comfortable distance of the village center. 10 minutes walking, or a few minutes by bus every half hour. Excellent room with good bed. Good shower, but some clumsy shower doors. Everything very clean. Excellent food. Good service.

Nice hotel with friendly staff. Our room was spacious and clean, nothing was broken. Breakfast and dinner are fine, but not special. Quite a walk to the piste, but a bus is departing every 15min to the Maiskogel. Spa was closed because of corona virus precautions.

Although the services and meal plan was ok, the choosing of this hotel was a mistake. I did not sleep well any of 5 nights: it were so many sounds of the guests and other deliveries and kitchen that I did not rest at all... the hotel is quite old and needs renovation immediately. Small bathroom and poor room without even a glass nor fridge made this stay disappointed...

The owners of this hotel set the standard and are genuinely concerned for your comforts and do all they can to make your stay a wonderful experience. The staff are first class as is the food. The pool and finess room is as good as it gets.

We spent ten nights there, as a ‘party of two’ with Ingham’s (GB). The hotel is modern and on the eastern side of the village not far from the castle; a ten minute walk (approx.) to the northern end of Kaprun and also the village centre. The hotel is family run (Family Foessl) and has about 35 rooms, of three different sizes on three floors. We found everywhere clean and tidy and in good condition. We had Rm 212, with a north-facing balcony, with a generally open view, across the road (Schlossstrasse) towards Zell am See and Saalfelden (not visible) and the mountains beyond. The bed was two 90cm wide singles made up as a double, with very comfortable mattresses and good pillows (I normally take may own in Britain). The Ingham’s booking was for a ‘Maiskogel’ room of 20 sq. m., but it seemed larger than that. It certainly had much more space than the average modern hotel bedroom. The shower was in a wet-room area, with a washbasin of good size adjacent. The WC / toilet was, sensibly, separate. We also had a balcony, larger than some others in the hotel, which looked down on a private-house garden, the hotel outdoor relaxation area and small car-park on the north side of the hotel. The reception staff were very friendly, welcoming, extremely helpful and good fun, as were all the other staff. Being there 10 days meant that we got to know them. For me, speaking German helped things along even more. They were the best group of hotel staff, mostly young, we have come across for a long time. Delightful. The Lounge / sitting room, was separate from the bar area but had easy, open access to it. It had comfortable armchairs and sofas as well as a library of books in German and English, including some books for children. The bar was used by locals, most evenings, as well as hotel guests. On one evening, after a celebratory procession to the castle of some kind, involving children, three members of the local, traditional music band, dropped in and gave some impromptu performances, between beers. The range of beers (Stiegel) was limited but acceptable. Tea, properly made, and coffee were also available. Meals are taken in one of three dining rooms, depending on the size of the party and total number of guests. The Fichtelstube, the one allocated to us for the whole of our visit, is the smallest and cosiest (about 9 tables). It was small enough to get to know other visitors and have some conversation if desired. The Salzburgerstube and Pinzgauerstube were quite separate from the Fichtelstube and much larger. Breakfast was always from a self-selection buffet, with fruit juices, a variety of cereals, cold meats and cheeses, fresh fruit, fruit salad, yoghourts, boiled eggs and cooked breakfast items, together with a variety of breads and rolls, plus coffee. When a large number of visitors are there, the salad and soup courses of the evening meal are self-served from the buffet, otherwise at your table. All main courses and desserts were served at table. There were a number of ‘interesting’ translations of some German menu items into English, but the variety over our stay was very good, with hardly any repetition, certainly none of a whole menu. The food was of a good standard, nicely cooked and presented. As with many smaller hotels, the evening meal menu was was given at breakfast, with the request that a choice be made then. The Hotel participates in the ‘Sommerkarte’ / Summer-card scheme – which is great value if you wish to use local transport and mountain lifts. Overall a great success, and a hotel we would, without question, choose again if in Kaprun. More like it elsewhere would be good.

Just returned from 4 nights stay in this 2 year old hotel. Very friendly staff who couldn't be more helpful. the facilities are excellent. Swimming pool, sauna, steam room, pool room, it has everything you need for a pleasant stay. The food (we were half board) was excellent. 4 or 5 courses including comprehensive salad bar, delicious soup, a choice of main course followed by a fantastic dessert. The breakfast was as extensive as any with bacon, sausages and egg as well as all the continental stuff. Very convenient for the ski bus (it doesn't matter where you stay in kaprun, you always need the ski bus as the slopes are just out of town). Frankly I've staid in 5 star hotels not close to as good as this. Lovely lounge bar to sit and have a drink in after a hard days skiing. Highly recommend. You will not be disappointed

The hotel is centrally located, just next to the ski bus bringing you to ski resort. Our room (Junior Suit) was spacious and we had a newly renovated bathroom with heating floor plus separate toilet. Double bed was in fact 2 single beds put together, which was a bit unpleasant, however otherwise comfortable.
There is a hotel bar, which is basically part of the lobby and a hang-out room with fire place called "Kaminzimmer". In the bar area it is allowed to smoke. Which is in my eyes unacceptable compared to international standards. from the entry and the lobby, one basically had to walk through this smoking bar to reach your room. I also saw kids hanging out there or in the "Kaminzimmer", which is not seperated from the bar. Even the check area in is not separated from the smoking area.
Even to Austrian hotel standards (I am Austrian), the smoking allowance in the hotel is unusual at best, internationally however totally unacceptable.
For an otherwise nice hotel, therefore just 2/5.

What a perfect week in & around Kaprun staying at the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten (Four seasons). The weather in September was perfect - warm clear sunny days, coolish nights and absolutely no wind at all. They say that the weather in Kaprun in this part of the Alps in September is generally very stable. The hotel is on the fringe of the town centre near the Kaprun Castle and is located close to major sites eg the Kitzsteinhorn (@ 3000 metres - I went up 4 times - amazing hikes in area incl the Alexander Enzinger walk .. 6 hours + back down to Kaprun along mountain ridges) , the Grossglockner Road reputed to be in the top 10 best drives in the world ( - I spent 10 hours driving this amazing road and soaking up the amazing scenery), sister town Zell am see a short drive away and if you want a change from Nature (which is hard to drag yourself away from) and want a bit of Culture, Salsburg is only an easy 90 km away. Kaprun itself is a great little town which would be buzzing in the ski season. It has everything on offer except (I assume) the busloads of tourists or the "white-shoe" brigade. The hotel is family run and the staff and owners were warm and friendly and very helpful at all times. My 7 nights 3/4 board stay in a junior suite was very good value at this time of the year. I cherished the heated indoor pool and the saunas every afternoon about 5pm after I dragged myself down from my adventures in the Alps (& after that Grossglockner drive) before going to the hotel dining room to enjoy my 4 course dinner with a cool beer and wine and share stories of our day with other guests. My wife and I are planning to go back next September again and possibly even later this year to experience a white Christmas in Kaprun and at the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten.

We enjoyed a wonderful two night stay here in Kaprun. Our room was most comfortable, complete with robe and slippers for use in the downstairs sauna and wellness center. The owners are so delightful, and are there to help you and suggest places for day trips in the area. Kaprun is a nice small town, and very close to the mountains for hiking and for winter sports. We enjoyed having our meals at the hotel as it made for a very relaxed stay. The kitchen was accommodating to our needs, and provided nice Austrian selections of food.
