We just stayed at Big Pine, on site 54, for 10 nights and would definitely go back. Large, level site. Very quiet and peaceful. Great view of the pines and wildlife. Friendly and accommodating staff. Close to all area attractions. Thank you Big Pine!
We have been camping at Big Pine for five years. You couldn’t ask for a more friendly hard working family. Great way to spend a relaxing week. We enjoy fires, sunsets, and beautiful views so much that we book our weeks stay for the next year before we leave!! Thanks for making our getaway so special….Steve & Jill
We were here in June and now in August this makes our 7th trip here in 4 years. Best campground. Great staff friendly helpful super clean. Bill and Jen and Ariana are the best. Super nice hiking trails behind campground great place to catch a great sunsets and see the wild life.. Cant wait for next June.
We stayed six nights and it was great. We had just gotten our camper and this was the first time that we had to back it in. The owner came and gave us verbal instructions for backing in and they were the most friendly people during check in. We even had deer nightly. Campground quiet, clean and very reasonably priced. Great location for exploring the area. Would definitely stay again.
Couldn't be happier with our camping spot at Big Pine. Shade everywhere, beautiful place, well kept, awesome staff, good price. No need to look at any other campground in the Black Hills, this is the one.
We arrived a day ahead of schedule and the owners were able to provide us with a temporary site. The next day we moved to our booked site and loved it. The pine trees are beautiful and provide a nice amount of shade. The sites are roomy and a picnic table and firepit are provided. The grounds are very well kept and the shower houses and laundry area were spic and span. There is a camp store that has about anything you might need or want. The firewood is good quality, sold in a generous quantity and reasonably priced. The town of Custer is only a couple miles away and attractions are with a reasonable driving distance. Last, but not least, the owners and staff were very welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Our whole stay was wonderful making it hard to leave. We highly recommend Big Pine Campground and look forward to our next visit.…
Holy WOW! What a fantastic place to camp. Well maintained, great camping sites and the name says it all, Big Pine! Staff are great and fully knowledgeable about what to do. Bathrooms are immaculate and when your camper doesn't have a bathroom, this is good news.
We enjoyed staying here. Would have given it a 5 but the road in the park is dirt and needs to be paved and some ruts. Very easy to access national forest to hike. Bathrooms were clean. Easy to get to Custer, mt Rushmore and tourist sites. We would stay here again
We were welcomed by a very friendly owner and family. Our site was adjacent to BLM land so was wild and beautiful. It was close enough to everything we wanted to see and we got to do the Wildlife Loop at Custer State Park twice. The Black Hills are beautiful and the learning of Native American issues at Crazy Horse Memorial is unsurpassed.
If your in the Custer SD area, this is a wonderful campground to stay at. Our camping spot was level easy to set up in, short distance to the comfort station. the staff are amazing they are so friendly and willing to assist anytime they can. they even deliver firewood. I look forward to staying there again .
