Stayed for a wedding in December. Very nice people at desk. Modern updates. Quiet and of course in a state park. December limits the opening of many businesses. I will stay again. Rooms were clean. Carpet needs updated.

We stayed here as part of an Insight Tour of Western National (and in this case, state) parks. Creekside Lodge is well named. It's about a 3-4 minute walk to the main lodge, where a restaurant is available (reviewed separately). There are numerous hikes available from the

This place is outdated and in need of attention. The lobby looks great but the rooms are less desirable especially when you pay what you pay. There is only one restaurant on site and dinner will cost you 50.00 or more for two people as this is fine dining!! I would have stayed

Dining options
The State Game Lodge is right next to Creekside Lodge and has a dining room open for for all three meals. You can also take the short drive into the town of Custer which has dining options (personal favorite it Black Hills Burger and Bun). Custer State Park also gas a dining room in Sylvan Lake Lodge but it's a bit of a drive from Creekside Lodge.

"While we did not have a balcony, one would be nice if your there when the weather is warm. Having our window open was fine for our visit."
"No elevator so ask for first floor if you have mobility issues,"
"They are all the same!"
"Stay at State Game Lodge."
"No elevator. Extremely Loud everywhere. Half of balconies overlook parking lot...other half look at trees (i.e. no meadow view)"
