Such a delight to arrive after a long transit from Belize into this garden paradise. I took the non air con room and did´t feel the need for it. The reasonable price includes a simple one course dinner. Breakfast yogurt and fruit is super. Swimming in the lake is not ideal from the public platform in front of the hotel...

This is not a 5 star hotel as the rooms are fairly basic. However they are exceptionally clean, and have a wonderful balcony with a rocking chair and a hammock that we enjoyed sitting on to escape the heat. The five star nature of this accommodation are the owners, Kelsey, David and Rosita, and their wonderful staff. They take an...

I found this place when I went out for the day to El Remate, leaving my wife working in the hotel in Flores. I went in for lunch and after admiring the view of the lake and seeing so many birds I wanted to come back so the next day my wife and I left Flores on a collectivo at...

The atmosphere at this lovely guesthouse is so relaxed and personal I felt as though we had been invited to visit the owner's home for a few days. The garden is beautiful-actually amazing! Right on the lakeshore, El Remate is a small village with numerous woodworking shops. We were glad we chose to stay so close to Tikal, so it...

I can't say enough about how wonderful the staff are at Casa De Don David. The rooms are clean and comfortable, but nothing special. What makes this family run hotel a wonderful place to stay is their SERVICE. They bent over backwards to accomodate the gluten intolerant members of our family at meals. They helped us find a great guide...

I recently stayed at Casa De Don David Jan 6th - 9th 2013. I was traveling with my mom and my boyfriend and Casa De Don David was a great place to stay. We originally booked two rooms, but once we arrived we realized that one room with two separate sleeping areas would suite us best. They were very accommodating...

La Casa De Don David is a nice hotel that caters well to both budget and vacation travelers. The staff are very accommodating and went out of their way to ensure we had a reputable guide despite us arriving late the night before. They did it without huffing or complaining and the result was we had a really special experience...

Cons: - the rooms need a facelift (given the rates); - much...

Bad planning on our part meant we needed to travel from Lanquin to El Remate on the evening of Christmas Eve. We thought it impossible, but Don David's wonderful family managed to sort it out for us. We arrived very late that evening and they'd even prepared dinner for us, ready for our arrival! Awakening the next morning to the...

My fiance and i stayed here on a trip to the Mayan Ruins in Tikal. The hotel staff was very welcoming and extremely helpful. The food at the hotel was delicious. I am a vegetarian and they served a vegeterain option with every meal. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is staying in the area. Room was clean,...
