30 - 45 minutes by local "chicken bus" to Tikal. Right across street from lake, one of the few hotels with dock for swimming. Basic cabin with 3 beds, shower, and toilet $28 US. Decent restaurant, friendly and helpful owner - Santiago. Howler monkeys at night, roosters in the morning! Good Place!

We stayed in a very large private room with private bathroom. The over head water heater in the shower actually got the water too hot! the room was clean and comfortable. The whole layout of the property is enchanting. A short, comfortable walk to the main road. Santiago the owner was a gem himself very helpful with our questions! Sadly...

I was surprised at first by how many families were staying at this place. Families with quite young children. The dorm was beautiful with very comfortable full sized beds with comforters - something I had not found anywhere else. The dorm was sectioned off with large dividers which was a lovely touch. Spent the day walking through the small town...

Beautiful hotel. Your room, whichever one you get, is tucked away in the trees. After staying in Flores the night before, the peace and quiet was a huge plus. Right across from the hotel is a long dock with a small roof and table at the end. Great place to hang out and swim in the surprisingly warm lake. From...

The place is located in an amazing spot at the Lago Peten Itza. It's nice and cozy and the food is good. At night all you hear are the sounds of the surrounding jungle. There are few private rooms, but also a dorm you can choose from. We stayed in a dorm, which had no lockers. However staff assured us...

We stayed behind the main site in the middle of what appeared to be virgin rain forest, with howler monkeys in the evening. The setting is special. Two double beds for us was comfortable, and the hammock on the balcony a boon. The shower was cool and low pressure, hopeless. The rooms need a lick of paint and the staff...

We can comment only restaurant because We didn t have a room there. For us there was slow and lazy staff. Food wasn t so much delicious. For Us it was overvalued restaurant(lot of people recommend it to Us but we didn t like it). Far from the "centrum" of the "village". In this village there are better choices where...

I'm disclosing my best secret by reviewing this piece of heaven on earth. Feels like family every time we come, congrats on the new dock, we enjoyed it a lot on our last visit. It's a wonderful experience, the best place to swim at the lake! Also delicious food and good coffee, home made bread as well. Gracias Santiago y...

Wow! This is one of the most amazing places I've ever been to. Nice rustic hotel, lake front, chill out music and environment, great weather. The property has its own deck which has a beautiful view of Lake Peten Itza. A collective bus will take you from Flores to El Remate and back for $10 or less.

Sleeping in the middle of the jungle with birds and howler monkey next to youn bungalow, it was just great! But what made it even better was the food. The fresh fish from the lake was super. The mountain goat stew (cold) was great. But oh my, the river lobster (crayfish, écrevisse) was easily the best thing I had in...
