While the Omni Riverfront Hotel boasts an inviting atmosphere and a location that many travelers find convenient and quiet, some areas are noted to need a refresh. The hotel's rooms receive mixed reviews, with cleanliness and maintenance issues being a concern, although a number of guests find their accommodations clean and comfortable.
Service is generally warm and professional, but not without occasional lapses, particularly in housekeeping. Amenities are appreciated, yet some guests feel updates are necessary, and opinions on value vary due to service inconsistency and dated facilities.

The beds were very comfortable. Rooms were clean and very nice. I would like to thank the reservations representatives. They made my stay comfortable due to their positivity and assistance. Casey, the valet representative was amazing as well. She had a positive attitude and a beautiful smile with everyone. Thanks again everyone.

The very best hotel experience ever. From the time you step foot on their property; you can feel the professionalism and integrity of the staff members. The staff greets you with respect and treats you like Royalty. I felt like I was at a Resort because of their location and set up. The hotel is very secure; no need to worry about being safe. The restaurant staff members Ryan and Chef were a gem. I just enjoyed the positive energy from everyone and atmosphere. The front desk sent a slice of cake to my room on my birthday. Talking about exceptional treatment. This is the type of experience that you expect to get when you stay at a hotel. Oh and I had plush robes in my closet. The room was very clean and the bed was so comfortable. The value is so affordable and exceeded my expectations. This will be my hotel from now on. I didn’t not get everyone's names but that’s not to say that they weren’t exceptional. All of the Staff Members were exceptional and they deserved to be recognized too during my stay. Keep up the amazing hospitality and hopefully others will get to experience the Royalty Treatment. I give this hotel the highest honorable mention. Thank You for making my stay a success.

As we travel extensively, and have stayed in numerous hotels, I have to say we were disappointed with our visit to this one.
The location was excellent and the courtyard and lounge areas look very classy ( though lounge and dining room were very cold….a problem we’ve experienced in other hotels). The guys who did the valet parking, the bellboys and the male concierge who very kindly booked for me to have a manicure in a local salon were all very helpful and pleasant, but sadly not all of the staff were like them.
At check in, although very helpful, the receptionist chewed gum constantly…not very professional. As others have said, service in the dining room on our first evening was dreadful….and they served up the wrong thing (which meant a longer wait for our food). When we ordered a half bottle of wine from the wine list, the girl said the one we had chosen was no longer available, but when we chose a different one, she looked through all the racks but couldn’t find it. It wasn’t her fault, but she shouldn’t have been allowed to show guests this wine list as it was wrong!
Others have mentioned the standard of cleanliness and I have to agree with them. We only had one room clean throughout our four night stay; the hallway was never cleaned while we were there (an empty cream container lay outside our door for three days); the bathroom floor was covered in paint, not to mention the cheap plastic lid on the toilet pan, and our room too had a strange smell.
All in all the standard of the hotel didn’t match the amount of money we paid for our stay.

I stayed here for Essence Fest, 5 nights. This place don’t even have working cable television, and I’m not joking. I couldn’t get the tv to work so they came up to the room to fix it and with no success, I was told it was because it’s raining. Excuse me?
They kept fruit infused tap water in a dispenser in the lobby. I was told by an employee not to fill my 16oz water bottle because I was making more work for him having to refill the dispenser. It’s New Orleans, in summer, it’s hot, he’s reprimanding me about tap ice water, at $350 a night?!
The cushions on the furniture in my room were tossed as if someone was looking for loose change in the seats. It would have taken 50 seconds to arrange them but I guess they were done and considered the room “ready”.
For the price point, I would recommend staying somewhere else. The Marriott next door is more modern, less money and has more amenities than this place.

Stayed at the Omni Riverfront Hotel for a long Jazz Fest weekend. Overall liked the location and the room was fine. In general, the staff were friendly as well. We just had a major problem with the housekeeping. We asked nicely (we are not people to make a big scene) multiple times for the room to be made up each day after we left for the event around lunchtime. Each time, we came back to the room around dinnertime with the same towels on the floor and nothing cleaned.
We then had to go to the front desk and ask (especially since the original sheets they put on our bed had holes and stains on them from other people. Yet they only made our room up once the whole time we were there for the long weekend. One time, they ridiculously put new towels on our desk chair but left trash and the dirty towels in a clump on our bathroom floor. Did not lift a finger to clean anything. Insane!
Over the course of the weekend, we politely asked at the front desk via phone and in person (who was in charge of housekeeping for some reason) - that's where the call would go when you pushed "housekeeping" on the phone - for the room to be cleaned. Each time a different front desk person would apologize and write copious notes down with our room number about the issue. And when we would return, nothing was done. Time after time!
This told us that 1. The hotel has housekeeping issues. 2. The hotel has inter staff communication issues. 3. The hotel may have "let's ignore the guest who complains" issues. 4. The hotel has top to bottom management issues. Or potentially all four.
After our stay, we called Omni Hotels national customer service to complain (we never do this sort of thing since I have better things to do), and they apologized and gave us a ticket number. Two weeks later, no call back or email.
I did notice that Omni is owned by a private equity company, so this is not surprising. I travel frequently on business and often advise a professional group I belong to on hotel choices for meeting and Omni is permanently off my list. If you can't take care of the basic things like cleaning a room, after multiple requests and not even respond to a serious complaint, this tells me that the chain has management issues all the way to the top.
Sayonara Omni!

Stayed a week in New Orleans while dropping my daughter off at college; the hotel looked nice from the pictures and have had previous great stays at Omni properties, that is why I booked this hotel. I checked out a day early, but the hotel would not refund the unused night due to me giving only a 48 hour notice, not a 72 hour notice; I let that go. The last day of our stay, the room was not cleaned without any notice, had to call down for towels twice before any were brought up. Upon checkout, I was charged for three nights of valet parking that were billed to my room in error and I had to wait at the desk for over 20 minutes for their valet attendant to come to the desk to verify that I was telling the truth. I wonder how many guests they have who actually lie about valet parking?? this seemed ridiculous to me. I told the desk clerk that she could easily walk to the door and see that my car was parked behind the hotel in metered street parking but she refused to take the few steps required to do this and seemed to be very offended that I would suggest she leave her post at the desk. The bright spot was their wait staff/bar staff at their restaurant and lounge; top notch!
Will definitely pick a different place to stay at my next visit!

Bottom Line Up Front: The staff at the Omni Riverside in New Orleans does not accommodate guests or follow through with what they say, and the hotel condition is awful.
I stayed at this location because it was the preferred hotel for the SPE ATCE conference the week of 23SEP2024. I reserved a premier King Room the week before for the nights of 23SEP and 24SEP. I was called by a front desk agent at 12:30pm on the afternoon of my arrival to confirm my reservation. I did confirm my reservation, and informed the agent that I would be a late arrival, as my flight from Houston did not land until 10:30pm that night.
When I arrived at the hotel, I checked in and was put in room 446, which is a double room, not a single king. In the room I found a folding luggage rack next to one of the beds with a box fan on full blast. The room was warm and humid. The air conditioner was on, but not blowing hard, and the air coming out was no different than the room air. I went to the front desk to ask to be moved to the room I had reserved and was told that this was the only room available. The agent working over night gave me the card for the GM (Gary) and the front desk manager (Kissy) and promised that it would be fixed in the morning. She offered to make concessions on the room rate and food & beverage credits, but because this was a business trip, that does not solve the issue. I went back to my room with the promise that both Gary and Kissy would be aware of my situation in the morning.
I came back downstairs at about 7:45 the next morning and asked the front desk agent for Gary and gave them my room number. She returned a moment later with “Gary doesn’t know any Will Stephens”. Kissy did come and help me and gave me keys to a new room. This new room had the worst stench of mold I had smelled since mucking houses after Harvey in Houston. She then found a third room (which took about 40 min) and I was moved yet again. The agent who took me to the second room to grab my bags would not enter the room after opening the door because the smell was so bad. Throughout the experience the entire staff acted as if this situation was normal, which for a supposed “luxury” hotel should not be the case.

I had a wonderful stay at the Omni Riverfront Hotel! From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure my experience was seamless and enjoyable. The check-in process was quick and efficient, and the front desk team was incredibly welcoming and accommodating.
The room was spotless, spacious, and thoughtfully designed, with a comfortable bed and all the amenities I needed for a relaxing stay. I especially appreciated the attention to detail, from the high-quality toiletries to the cozy atmosphere. The location of the hotel was perfect—just a short walk to all the key attractions, yet tucked away enough to offer peace and quiet.
The on-site dining options were fantastic, with a delicious breakfast that truly started my day off right. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with recommendations or any requests.
Overall, the Omni Riverfront Hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. Whether you’re visiting for business or leisure, this hotel is an excellent choice for a comfortable and memorable stay. I’ll definitely be returning in the future!

Overall our experience at the Omni Riverside was very good. The staff were very friendly and engaging. The issues we experienced were that the room smelled musty and housekeeping did not come but two days of a 5 night stay.
I checked into the room late and smelled the mustiness. I went to the front desk the next morning and they said they would have someone come and refresh the room or we could change out rooms. The refresh helped temporarily and then we were so busy with our conference that we honestly did not have time to change rooms.
I would definitely stay here again as the hotel was clean and the staff friendly. I did not utilize the dining or bar so no reviews there.

This hotel should NOT call itself a 4-star. The property itself and our experience were 2-star at best. As for the property, it needs a deep cleaning and total renovation. The carpets were filthy and the furniture in both the rooms and common areas were old and falling apart. From the moment I arrived I suffered from allergy flare ups. Our room smelled of mold and the AC vent had lent build-up as though the filters haven’t been changed in years. We requested a room change but allergy issues persisted. Even the front desk attendant stated she’s suffered from allergies since starting 3 years ago. The $40 valet service was horrible and consistently took 30-45 min to retrieve our car even when we called ahead. Overall, I was extremely dissatisfied with this stay. We chose this hotel over others because of its 4-star status, which now feels like a bait and switch. I will say that hotel employees, Que and Dwayne, were very nice and tried to be as helpful as possible.

I could see the cruise port from the hotel
Not sure how easy to walk there but a very short drive.
I think you pay for parking or it is in the car park opposite the hotel. I cannot think that it is free. Nothing is free.
It is within sight of the cruise port and yes you can walk there from the hotel. The Omni Riverfront is a great hotel and the staff is wonderful. My wife and I say this is one of our Favorite hotels we stay at during our travels.
Hello, we are 1/2 mile from the WWII Museum approx. 10 minute walk.
