This Hampton Inn was a great choice for us. The staff is helpful yet reserved, hotel was very clean, and the neighborhood is safe and unique with an eclectic assortment of restaurants within a few blocks ranging from texmex to dive bars to wine bars and more. Magazine Street is a leisurely walk away and the street car to the...

I stayed at this hotel back in December 2015 and I didn't have any issues, even though it was under construction (renovations). This trip, however, was a different story. The hotel is still under construction, and when I checked in as a gold member, I was not informed of this by the rude gentleman at the desk. He didn't mention...

This hotel is really nice. And it is quiet. Great location next to a super awesome restaurant, Superior Grill. Will advise you to order a cab about 20 to 25 minutes before you need to leave. You can stand out front and possibly catch a cab, but be prepared to wait. With that, the hotel is still super duper.

Two blocks off Canal, this hotel provides the security and quiet you'll need after a night on the town. Bourbon and Royal Streets are within walking distance. The hotel's street turns into Bourbon, so it's hard to get lost. The staff is knowledgable and courteous. The large, complimentary breakfast changes from day to day. This is the place to stay...

Staying in Garden District

Neighborhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
