The experience was great. The room was actually as seen in the picture. The hardwood floors and brick walls were beautiful. The bathroom was large the only concern I had in the room was when taking a shower water would drain parts of the bathroom.

Great hotel in a fantastic location with a focus on quality and unique art. Loved the restaurant on the ground floor and the rooms are well equiped and comfortable. If you are looking for something different to the normal pedestrian hotel chains give this a go.

The decor and location are amazing. This is my third time staying there and can't wait to come back. The staff is friendly and the restaurant and bar and great. Could hear everything going on in the next room so definitely bring ear plugs.

My husband and I reserved a block in this hotel for our wedding because of the proximity to both our venue and the French Quarter. They were very accommodating and flexible and went out of their way repeatedly for us. The staff was friendly and helpful and our meals in Compare Lapin were fantastic. The rooms are very comfortable and... More

Very nice and comfortable hotel. The beds were amazingly comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Didn't really care for the open shower concept, as we always got the floor wet even though we were very careful. Definitely had the New Orleans charm.

Everybody on staff was remarkable (I wish I could list them by name). The rooms were hip and fun, I want my house to be this cool looking. Central location! The other reviews are not kidding ( just out of the fray of French Quarter but close enough to get there and everything else.) Compere Lapin was phenomenal! Plus, there... More

Our 3rd summer staying at Old 77. We enjoyed our stay but suggest personal size coffee maker along with coffee, cream/sugar in room. Complimentary breakfast, juice/coffee, cereal/milk/fruit. Leave room in fridge for guest personal choices. We do love the Old77!

I highly recommend this hotel. The bed was incredible. Loved the art. The staff was friendly and helpful. The pasties were awesome. Everything was clean and colorful. If you want something better than staying at a chain hotel, this is the place for you!

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
