I'm a wedding planner and I do a lot of weddings in New Orleans. I like to stay at the LaQuinta on Camp St. I stayed Friday, August 19th. My room didn't have hot water. They moved me to another room. I got back to the room so late & noticed that room didn't have hot water either but was... More

We were in New Orleans during the floods in Baton Rouge and were unable to leave so we had to book a last minute room. We chose La Quinta downtown. The location was great, the staff was nice but the rooms were very average. I did expect at least a small room refrigerator and maybe a microwave but that wasn't... More

We did not have hot water and were lied to about maintenance 'fixing' it. When we told them it wasn't fixed, we were told we had to let the water run for 45 min. We requested a move and the new room didn't have cold water.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a large tour group, so they were expecting us! When we piled off the bus after a long day of driving we were shocked to find our rooms not ready. This was about 5:30pm/6:00pm. So we waited and waited. Some people got rooms only to find other people already in the rooms.... More

The hotel is very centrally located. It is a great hotel, with the staff being outstanding and go out of their way to please you. The management makes sure everything is perfect. I recommend staying at this hotel.

The fridge and outlets didn't work. The location is great, but thats about all this place has going for it. Parking is 30 dollars a day for cars and 35 for oversized vehicles. The staff was friendly during the day. The night crew was clearly under the influence of some form of libations during one of our nights.

The hotel room was quite old, there wasn´t cold water even in the washbasin! The quality and variety of breakfast was poor. They forgot to leave clean towels, we left them on the rack because we wanted to use them again and when we came back at 5.30 pm they had taken away but didn´t leave clean ones. I called... More

I stayed in 5 LaQuinta hotels on my recent trip. This one was a bit of a disappointment. The 1st room we had the carpet was wet and getting wetter so we moved to a new room. The staff was very responsive and polite. Breakfast was the skimpiest one of them all. There were no meats at all. The only... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
