The hotel is warm and inviting. The staff was helpful when we had questions. Having a small cafe next door was great for starting our day. Just a block from Bourbon Street it was in walking distance of the fun! It is also within walking distance of many french quarter attractions. It made visiting the big easy one of the...

Very nice helpful staff. In the action on Burbon St. No coffee in room this is a real minus coffee over $3 at the shop in hotel. The room was nothing special but really how much time do you spend in the room. I would stay there again

The Royal Sonesta on Bourbon Street is the perfect location for sightseeing, catching the trolley and close proximity to wonderful restaurants. This hotel appears to take up a city block and has two restaurants and a fabulous Jazz Playhouse Bar with live music. The outside does not do it justice. It blends with Bourbon Street in appearance..nothing fancy. Step inside...

We had a wonderful stay. The location is great being right on Bourbon Street, and the hotel is quiet and peaceful. The staff were friendly and helpful. Great restaurants and shopping within walking distance. They are in the process of remodeling all rooms and hope to be done by the end of the year. Except for one elevator out of...

The Royal Sonesta Hotel is in the middle of the famed Bourbon Street area of the French Quarter. I stayed at this hotel during Memorial Day weekend. I would certainly recommend this hotel to someone looking for a high energy hotel with a vibrant and active ambiance. The hotel is located in the heart of the FQ directly on Bourbon street so there is no avoiding large crowds, loud noise and a lot of activity. However, if you...

Well, the hotel is beautiful in the lobby but the rooms are old, and are a little worn. The toilet in our room was very difficult to flush, and the water pressure was low. Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
