We stayed in a balcony room overlooking the court yard. Everything from the furnishings to the service was perfect. However, you may encounter some noise while the rooms are being refurbished. Make sure to ask what area of the hotel is being worked on if you're staying this summer.

A little dated but great location on Bourbon Street. Food was good and nicely priced. Lots of bars and clubs on your doorstep and not too far (30 mins) from the international airport. Hotel was going through some renovations.

The Royal Sonesta is in the perfect French Quarter location. A magnificent lobby greets you, as you enter the older hotel. The large pool is nestled among beautiful plants and private seating areas. The polite staff is very accommodating. Some parts of the hotel need updating or a face lift. There were signs in the hotel announcing future renovations. The...

Hotel in need of some updating, but they are addressing that now. Great location, but even better service. Darin at the R Club provided outstanding service. One problem with TV that really was not a significant concern to us, but Darin addressed it and provided a solution. We will return and stay there and stay on 7th floor with free...

Honestly there is nothing better than walking out the front door and being right on Bourbon Street. The hotel and grounds are beautiful. I wish my girlfriend and I had stayed an extra day just to spend a day by the pool. The pool is of nice size and there is plenty of courtyard seating. A nice little outdoor bar...

This was my first trip to NOLA and stay at the Royal Sonesta. It was fabulous week!! Tony the bellhop and Jabari the doorman were exceptional..very friendly and so willing to assist with anything we needed. There was construction being done during the day but it did not cause us any inconvenience as we we were out touring this amazing...

Stayed here for a wedding that was being held at the hotel...so, obviously loved the convenience. Room was clean and super comfortable, had a small balcony which was nice for a bit of fresh air. Great lounge with top notch musicians and good drinks. Great location right in the middle of everything. Would love to stay here again.

The hotel is undergoing major renovations. I don't believe I could give a fair review due to this. Upon checking in, we were informed that the water may not be on until later that afternoon. That was apparent by the number of guests complaining to the front desk while we were there. When we got to the room, the water...

My wife and I stayed here one night for a business conference. The staff are very cordial and helpful. The rooms are nice, they need a little updating and I understand that the hotel is working on updating as we speak. That was obvious as the sound of construction could be heard throughout the day. They did shut down around...

We decided slightly spur of the moment to visit NOLA. We have stayed at the Royal Sonesta before and really enjoyed it, so we looked into staying here again. Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
