Hotel is wonderful, location is perfect and having a room overlooking the courtyard near the pool and bar was awesome! Randall Scott-Miller was the BEST at the front desk!!! He helped us out so much with rooms, extending our stay etc. a true gentleman and total hospitality experience manager.
10 year anniversary/family trip. I’ve been staying at the Royal Sonesta for over 25 years, I have never been disappointed with its professionalism cleanliness and location especially. The amenities are unsurpassed in the French quarter. I have developed hundreds of great memories in and around the hotel. We highly recommend it to anyone that is not afraid to spend a little bit more to stay in the Center of it all , with the perfect amenities.
I have stayed at many phenomenal hotels, but the Royal Sonesta in New Orleans is one of the best! Not only is this hotel extremely well appointed, the staff made us feel welcomed, cared for, and went above and beyond to make us feel special. I’d like to mention that the front desk team (especially Randall), are incredible. We had to extend our stay because of the hurricane in Florida, and Randall was most helpful in ensuring our stay was flawless. I would highly recommend the Royal Sonesta in New Orleans!
The Royal Sonesta on Bourbon is a beautiful property with the best location for a New Orleans experience. Aside from the gorgeous facility, the entire team - especially Randall Scott-Miller and Damon at the Front Desk - embody true Southern hospitality. Regardless of the request, they made sure that every wish was granted. I have never stayed at a Sonesta and can’t wait for my next experience!! Thank you!!!
Hotel is beautiful and the staff excellent. Rooms are very comfortable and the classic details--lighting, crown molding, plush carpeting, shuttered windows--all make this part of the New Orleans experience. The pool on the 3rd floor courtyard, complete with full bar and snack options, makes a nice spot to relax after a day of sightseeing or conference-going. Our concierge Malcolm made sure we had everything we needed in terms of navigating restaurant options. If you're a light sleeper, recommend asking for an interior room that doesn't face Bourbon Street. And you might bring earplugs to avoid being awakened by late-night revelers coming back to their rooms (this seemed to be only on the weekend).
Daymond was such a HUGE help in getting the rooms my friend & I were supposed to get on our trip, especially as I am a wheelchair user. He's a true professional and an asset to the hotel and a wonderful personality! Our concierge was fabulous too!!! 5 star all the way!
Originally there was a mistake in our reservation and we didn’t get the rooms we reserved. We thought about going to another hotel. Then we went to the front desk and spoke to Daymond. Let me tell you, he is a rockstar! He was so kind and professional. He jumped right in, solved all this issues, and got us great rooms. All of us are pleased. Thank you Daymond! Overall it’s a nice hotel, the rooms are very clean, the entire staff is nice. The concierge‘s desk has been completely helpful. There’s a nice pool area. I would recommend staying here.
This hotel is nothing short of beautiful! This was my second visit and just like the first one, Denise at the front desk was AMAZING! She takes good care of us every time we come. Denise is very warm and welcoming! She is the True Definition of Southern Hospitality! The pool area is beautiful! Love the bar and the bar tenders! Will definitely stay here again and again!
The Royal Sonesta was a surprising gem of a hotel, right in the middle of the craziness of Bourbon Street. I’m not personally a fan of the French Quarter (particularly at night) so I’ve never stayed down there. But I would 100% stay at the Royal Sonesta again. It’s a large hotel that feels really boutique-y. I had a room that overlooked the courtyard so it was really quiet. It also was on the top floor so had a quirky garret feel while still giving me plenty of space. But the number one thing to recommend the hotel is the staff. I wish I’d written her name down, but the woman who checked me was a true delight and made me remember exactly why I love New Orleans so much. Just in case her boss reads this - she was maybe 5’4” Black woman with short hair. We talked briefly about her kids and pedicures. :) She was super nice and efficient, making me feel like I was her only guest but still getting me to the room quickly.…
We have been to New Orleans many times, first time at the Royal Sonesta. We had a lovely balcony on Bourbon Street & enjoyed people watching. The entire staff is caring & amazing! Breakfast in Desire was wonderful. The dinner in R’evolutions was the best we had in the French Quarter, thanks to Wayne’s suggestion. Also a special thank you to Randall for making our stay special!
