Denise at the front desk was an absolute dream. She was welcoming when we first arrived and provided plenty of travel guidance about how best to get around the city and what places to try. When there was a noise issue due to construction she took down our concerns and we know the issue was handled because the next day the construction did not start until well after quiet time was over. We loved the location of the hotel it is very walkable to many places you want to go and our room was clean and nice. Although we were on Bourbon Street when we did want the noise our room was a quiet retreat. It was really the best of both worlds.

If you want to be pampered and enjoy the best customer service you’ll ever receive, this should be your destination. Hotel is best, very clean and safe. The location can’t be beat. You are within walking distance of many of the best restaurants in New Orleans. Every employee I encountered were amazing and so very helpful. Joe, the attendant for the valett parking, goes far above his duties. He will help make your trip even more enjoyable. Never been so impressed by the valett service. Joe is the best.

My husband surprised me with a trip to New Orleans to celebrate my birthday. This was our first visit to New Orleans and he wanted to make it memorable. He selected the Royal Sonesta because it was in the heart of the action and had great reviews. I can only speak of our experience … the hotel is not nearly as nice as the reviews indicate. We stayed in bi level room, almost $500 a night. The furniture is old, the rugs are old and the spiral staircase is a hazard. I’m sure there was a time this was considered upscale … not in 2023. Housekeeping consists of making the bed and replacing towels. They didn’t vacuum, clean the tub or floors or counters and they didn’t bring soap to the room until we requested it. To make matters worse we found a large roach in the living room on our last day. Needless to say that was the final straw

Dear Danielle T, Although we loved having the opportunity to welcome you, we deeply regret that there were some aspects of your room refresh that were missed and prevented you from fully enjoying the visit. This is quite unlike us and we do hope that you might one day consider joining us again for an opportunity to restore your confidence in the Royal Sonesta New Orleans experience that so many have come to know and love. All the best, Royal Sonesta New Orleans

Good stay, but the add on fees were excessive. Too many taxes to count, plus a “destination fee” daily. No courtesy water, $7 per bottle if you get thirsty. No umbrellas by the pool chairs. Fee to enter the jazz bar.

Thank you Denise at the front desk for the Southern hospitality when we stayed at the Sonesta for a super-fabulous 70 + 1 birthday celebration. She also addressed a problem, someone banging on my door at 4 a.m., explaining how some guests mix up their room numbers. In addition to reassuring me, she gave me a little something extra to enjoy during the rest of my stay. Other highlights: that birthday cake, plentiful charcuterie, Asian hors d'oeuvres, champagne, other drinks and a whisky bar in the birthday girl's suite; even more great food and drink at the pool and excellent, creative dinners at the Desire Oyster Bar and Restaurant. Housekeeping also quickly provided extra towels when requested. Best of all, Denise made us feel special, like friends, not just guests. She is the kind of lady, with whom you would love to enjoy a leisurely cup of tea. Thank you!

In Royal Senosta you get the full New Orleans experience. We stayed in a room with Bourbon St balcony and we loved it. Yes it's noisy but you're so tired after all the walking it's not a big deal, at least not for us. The service is always top notch ,from the Valet to bell boy's and front desk. As for the rooms, they are small but it works. Our TV was going out and had 3 dots on the screen , the knob for the shower could use some repairs but all in all it was great and location was a plus.

Just spent another awesome weekend in NOLA and the lovely Royal Sonesta. Close to everything but a lovely and gracious respite from the craziness of Bourbon Street. Ask for an interior room if you want to sleep! Special shout out to Joe the valet. Excellent service and send off! Until next time.

We were in town for a ball game and wanted to have the Bourbon experience and it was fantastic. Royal Sonesta is situated close to the Canal end of Bourbon. Excellent food and drink choices all within walking distance. We took some time out of a busy schedule to enjoy the pool and it was very relaxing.

Joe from valet parking was the best! Friendly, welcoming and most helpful. Which is more than can be said about the woman with the red hair at the front desk, who „forgot“ to mention a 20$ „destination fee“ (whatever that is) when asked for the rate, and who all but rolled her eyes when we asked for a receipt upon leaving. The room was small, but quiet and clean.
