French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.

Great location!. Elegant but inviting. R-Club level a nice touch and available all day. Hotel is right in the middle of foodie heaven!! I will certainly stay again, probably when I return in December.

Scored a decent rate. Great location and despite being in the heart of the Quarter, bedrooms are quiet. Clean public and private areas. Staff was always friendly and attentive. WiFi worked well. Beds were comfortable. Did have a bite to eat at Desire. Was fine...service was attentive...would argue the price point and quality...but was fine for a seafood tower and some wine. Didn't notice any happy hour type deals. Hung out few times at the pool. Pool bar can be a tad slow, but the pool attendants were pretty good about keeping the pool area tidy. I'd return if able to get a good deal.

We particularly appreciated the concierge who spent much time and effort with us. H recommended the Ego Swamp tour. We saw at least ten alligators as well as a two hubdred poung wild pig. The hotel restaurant was top shelf as was the breakfast restaurant as well. Best of all, the location right on Bourbon Street.

I called within 24 hours of check-out, and housekeeping did not seem interested in helping me find my items that I left in my room. I still have not received the promised call back. Their follow through would be appreciated.

The hotel is quite large having doors on 3 sides of the block. It was always wonderful to walk through one of them to get off the manic streets... especially Bourbon Street, which was frenetic to say the least! Inside the hotel is the absolute opposite to the area outside the hotel. Nice clean room, reasonably quiet considering the area (we were on the side street, not on Bourbon Street). Only reason I wouldn't return to the hotel is the area, not the hotel itself. I did find it quite expensive, in that I ordered a $15 lunch from pool bar and by the time the taxes, delivery charge and tip was added it was over $25!
