The worst hotel I've ever experienced. Let's start with an old rust spotted bathtub, wallpaper peeling off the walls in hallways (I believe they advertise renovation...not!), stained bed spread, a coffee maker that needs to be removed from the closet to be plugged in and used, dirty doors and handles (gross), water pressure that is horrible, hot water that runs...

We procured this hotel at a favorable rate and were pleased overall during our four night stay. The hotel's location cannot be beat. We stayed in a renovated king room. The interior design theme of modern French style, a very comfortable bed and a nice white marble bathroom all were appreciated. We were situated in the third floor facing the...

Got a great rate for an overnight stay at The Royal Sonesta and found ourselves right in the middle of the French Quarter on Bourbon Street. Great location. Unfortunately there was street construction ongoing on Bourbon that caused some confusion finding the parking garage, but it really didn't detract from our visit. Our room was not ready when we arrived,...

When I heard we were staying at a hotel in the French Quarter, I shuddered at the thought of being in a very average over priced hotel overrun by drunk college students. I could not have been more wrong. The RS was an oasis of calm in an otherwise mental Bourbon Street. The rooms were well appointed, quiet(make sure to...

This was my first trip to New Orleans and I wanted to stay at a hotel on Bourbon St within walking distance of planned activites. This hotel was an excellent choice. I arrived late in the evening and the lobby was very lively with live music spilling into the lobby from the Jazz Playhouse (really nice). All of the staff...

We were able to get a great rate on short notice...wow - our lucky day! And, then - we realized that much of the hotel was under renovations. We were given a newly renovated room. Sadly, the (new) beds were a bit on the hard side and disappointing. The new baths are clean and fresh. The internet was difficult to...

This trip to New Orleans was only for a few days to attend a wedding so staying off of Bourbon Street was what I wanted. It was easy to find after coming back from our walks. Walking in after being outside where it's very muggy was refreshing. I chose the room with a balcony because I wanted to check the...

We have always wanted a balcony room on Bourbon street just to experience New Orleans. We got just that. During our vacation to New Orleans we chose to splurge for a room, very glad we did. The easy access to the Valet parking was great, the Valets were super nice to us. Check in surprised us because we got the...

How lucky to have a conference on Bourbon St! The hotel is very nice and staff are helpful and courteous. The conference facilities were very nice as well. In terms of location, I don't think you can beat it. You are within walking distance to anywhere in the French Quarter and of course are steps away from Bourbon St. Whether...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
